Hi everyone,
So, I really have no idea why I'm writing this, but I wanted to pen it down... so here it is!😳
I really don't know what this is, just some scene I've had picturised for quite some time now... so you're welcome to read it and tell me what you think. By no means is this a story or something... this is just some visual thought of mine, and I wanted to share it with you all. What I do with it later... I might continue it or just leave it as a thought, dunno!
Forgive me for the title, I just wrote something there😛
-----------------------------------
"Hmmmm... aaj ka din kitna... lifeless hain. What should I do..." She sat on the bench of her favourite park, surrounded by a group of her friends, but isolating herself from the others, lost in her thoughts, pondering about the future ahead of her... Lifeless, that was the perfect word for this day...
Blocking out the chatter and laughter from her friends, Divya rested her elbow on her knee, and her hand on her chin, and made that scrunched face like she always did when she was thinking... she could hear someone in the background asking "Kya hua?", but she just replied with "mmm" in response... there was really no reason to waste her voice today, only to think.
The adventure, the zeal, everything - had so quickly disappeared from her life since she left her college. Going out with friends, eating dinner at home, reading her favourite books... nothing seemed exciting anymore.
So why did she realise all of this just now?
"Mmmm..." She could only make that sound. She slouched down slightly, breathing a little, and trying to relax, yet she still kept herself away from her friends. Staring idly at the grass in front of her, she tried to view one leaf from different turns of sunlight.
She felt her hand suddenly being grabbed by someone out of nowhere, and found herself briskly walking, or rather gliding across the grass... The still unfamiliar hand clenched tightly with hers, it suddenly dawned on her that this hand pulled her away from her friends. Now sweating slightly, she tried to squirm them out of the stranger's hand, but to her dismay, the clasp remained firm.
She couldn't see him entirely - his face was directed straight ahead, not bothering to glance at her once. His jaws seemed tight, but that was the only feature she could see properly.
She managed to sputter out a few words. "Excuse me - aap --"
"Shhhh. Look straight ahead, and act natural."
He finally spoke, directing her to look back, but the scene remained the same, her friends still talking away. None of them noticed she was gone.
Divya turned her head back to the front, following the command, and as she was about to open her mouth again, she closed it quickly, gasping in the bargain. She had heard this voice before...
"Sagar?"
His grasp on her hand tightened; she felt the tension in his fingers for a split second, then he loosened them slightly, his grip still rigid as ever.
"Tumne pehechaan liya? How do you know it's me..." She heard an underlying strain in his voice, as if he didn't expect her to recognise him.
She blurted out, "Yesterday! You remember, we met in the park...?" She turned her head slightly to look at him, searching for any signs of expression. He immediately shook his head quickly, pulling even tighter on her hand.
"Don't look at me - just look straight."
Divya again followed his order, but not without turning her head to look behind her again - her eyes widened; the park and her friends were nowhere to be seen now; she could only see the layers of grass behind them. The feel was coming back in her legs now; it seemed as if they were walking for hours together, yet he didn't slow down the pace.
"They're far away now; don't look back."
Still paying heed to his words, Divya now looked straight ahead, trying to keep her face expressionless, yet she couldn't help but worry slightly. Someone she just met a day back was now clasping her hand tightly, and acting very inconspicuously towards her, speaking only when he needed to tell her to look straight. All she knew was his name, nothing else. She couldn't help but ask, though...
"Hum kahaan jaa rahe hain?"
His grip on hers tightened once again, yet he shifted his head ever so slightly to the left, enough for her to get a glimpse of his full face.
He smiled. "Kahin bhi nahin."
