Part 4
The party has ended and Sagar is upstairs in his room. He is burning with anger and cannot sit still.
Why didn't she come yet? What's taking her so long?
Slowly, the door opened...and Vidya came inside.
Vidya:Arre, aap yaha the. Hum apko kaha kaha dohund rahe-
Sagar(lifts up a hand and stands up):Bas Vidya! Aur kitna jhoot blo gi?
huh? bolo?
Vidya(confused and scared):Aap ye kya bol rahe hain. Hum to sirf-
Sagar slams her against the wall and leans towards her. The entire house is still. Eerie sounds of the wind
blowing can be heard.
Sagar(gritting his teeth):Jo sawal main ab pochunga... unka sach sach
jawab dena, theek hai?
Vidya(whimpering):Ji, theek hai.
Sagar:Ok, kya tum abhi Tusshar ke saat thi?
Vidya(confused look on her face):Nahin.
Sagar:JHOOT!!!PHIR JHOOT! maine tumhe bola tha na ki mujhse jhoot mat bolna?
(shakes her)BOLA THA KI NAHI!
Vidya(starts crying):Hai, bola tha. Pe-pe-per hu-hum b-bh-bhi apko sac-sach hi baata ra-rahe ahin.
Sagar(angry, grimaces):Fine, ok. Dusra sawal. Kya tum Tusshar se pyar karte ho(takes a quick breath and)-iska
mujhe sach sach jawab chahiye.
Vidya looks shocked and she tries to move to the side. She almost succeeds until Sagar
grabs her pallu and spins her so that her back faces his chest.
Sagar(gritting his teeth):Bolo Vidya.
Vidya(in full tears now):Nahi.Nahi.Nahi. Hu-hum Tusshar se nahi pyaar karte hain aur kabhi bhi asa
soch bhi nahi sakte!
Sagar is seriously out of control now. He grabs Vidya and spins her again. Now he and
Vidya are just a millimeter apart.
Sagar:Vidya, tum mujhse jhoot kyu bhool rahe ho? Agar tum Tusshar se pyar karte ho toh mukhe
sidhe sidhe bol do na. Main tumhe uske pyaas jaana dunga. Mera liye itna mushkil
maat karo.
Sagar breaks down. He lets go of Vidya and sits down on the bed. He starts crying.
Sagar:Pata hai Vidya. Jab sabse phele bar mein tumse mila tha, theek hona ke baad, toh mujhe bahut gussa
aya tha. Maine socha tha, ke Papa meri shaadi. MERI. Sagar Pratap Singh ki shaadi ek unpar ladki
se kaise kara sakte hain?
Vidya is sobbing fearfully as she listens.
Sagar:Mujhe tumse nafrat thi.Per phir iss ghar mein Tusshar ne kadam rak kha.
Aur uske baad, jab bhi mein tumhe uske saat dekhta tha, toh muhjhe jaalan hoti thi-pata nahi kyu.
Per hoti thi.(sniffles and continues)Aur mujhe lagtha ki tum hamesha sirf mera saat raho.
Aur aaj, jab maine tumko Tusshar ke saat dance karte hua dekha, toh mujhe bahut gussa agaya.(grits teeth)
Meri biwi mera hi dost ke saat itna kareb-
(breaks down crying)
Vidya is in full flow of tears.She sits down on the bed facing Sagar, and puts a hand on his shoulder.
Vidya:Humko pata tha. Ki aisa kuch hi hoga. Jabse aap theek hu the, tabse humko bahut dhuk hota tha. Humko
lagta tha, ki aap kabhi bhi hume nahi apni biwi maine ge. Toh aaj, jab Tusshar ne hume bola ki
ye dance karna se apko jaalan hogi, aur hir aap humhe svhekar(accept)karenga, toh humne socha theek hai.
Lekin agar humne apko thora sa bhi dhuk dilaya ho, to hume maaf kardi jiaga.
She gets up to leave, but Sagar holds her back.
Sagar(wipes his tears:Vidya, tum rukh jao. Yeh Tusshar bhi na. Mujhe lagta hai, ki woh mujhe apne aapse
bhi jada jaanta hai.(laughs)Tumhe maafi mang ne ki zaroorat nahi hai. Muhjhe mang ne chahiye.
He bends down to touch her feet, but Vidya stops him.
Vidya:Arre nahi nahi.Jo hogaya so hogaya. Ab humhe humare nai zindagi ki shurwat ke baara mein soch na chahiye.
Sagar:Theek hai.To aajse tum mera paas hi rahogi. Mera pas kahogi, mera paas rahogi,aur...
Vidya(now happy):Aur?
Sagar(gives a mischevious smile):Aur mera paas hi sogi.
Vidya(playfully hits him and blushes):Ap bhi na.
Sagar:Kyu, maine kuch galat kaha?
He picks her up(the horizontal way) and puts her on the bed.
Vidya(blushing):Ye aap kya kar rahe hain?
Sagar(smiles):Vidya, Vidya, Vidya. Just chill ok?
Vidya remains confused. Sagar turns off the lights and they both fall asleep in each other's arms.
