Divyanka plays tour guide in her hometown

Divyanka Tripathi of Banoo main teri dulhan (Zee TV) was having a great time at her hometown, Bhopal during the strike. She says she loves her hometown and loves sharing more and more information about it. She told us about the top five 'must see' places in the city.

1) Kaliasoth Dam- It is the one of my favourite places, one because it's close by to where I live and secondly because it has an amazing natural beauty. There's also a small shiv mandir right at the middle of the dam which gets completely submerged in water and only its tomb can be seen. There is another dam called Bhadwara dam and there's a dense forest which connects the two. The drive from Kaliasoth to Bhadwara is just mindblowing, especially during the rains.
2) Bhojpur's Shiv mandir- The temple is a very ancient one situated in the outskirts of Bhopal. It is said that this temple was been made by the Pandavas, Bheema specially got all the huge stones of which this is made. One unique feature about this temple is that its top could never be built, whenever anyone tries to make it, it breaks by some or the other way.

3) Bhopal's Upper Lake- This beautiful lake lies in old Bhopal. It was made 200-300 years back and is famous of fishing and sight seeing. This man made lake is very large (sometimes you can't even see other bank) supplies water to the whole city. It's beautiful and famous because of its beauty; there's a small island in the middle of the lake and a small mosque in between that. Other thing is that only rowing boats go there, you can't use ferries to get there.

4) Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya (Human museum) - It's an open and a very large museum placed in Shamla hills. The specialty about this museum is that it depicts human civilization; where you can see dummy of different states which are built by specially the natives of that particular place. The museum is surrounded by greenery all over with a beautiful natural surrounding. There are raths where 50 people can accommodate easily

5) Tajul Masjid- It is Asia's largest mosque and lies in the old city of Bhopal. It was built by Shah Jahan. It is worth visiting as its one of its kind.

The show's going on…

The recent attacks on Mumbai didn't stop the filming of TV serials as the time lost during the TV strike had to be made up for. Moreover, actors don't think the city is safe anymore.

Angad Hasija (Alekh of Bidaai) says, "We were shooting in the suburbs yesterday, and thank God it is pretty safe there. Actually we have already wasted 15 days due to the strike and we do not have any bank episodes. Moreover, telecast of the fresh episodes is also starting on Monday .We reached a little late on the sets .Then in the evening everyone's families and friends started calling, asking us to return home, so we packed up around 7.30 p.m. which is early considering we usually shoot for twelve hours straight."
Speaking about safety, he says,"On the sets we had our regular watchman for security, but I do not think that Mumbai is safe anymore now."

Sharad Malhotra (Amar of Banoo Main Teri Dulhann) says "I was shooting in Filmcity yesterday (November 27). The production house actually called us and told us that we would be shooting. So we had to go for the shoot. It was mainly because we had no bank of episodes at all. I told them that as soon as it starts getting dark, we should all pack up and go home for everyone's safety. There were six artists who were shooting. I left the set around 6.30 in the evening."

Sharad thinks the world is now unsafe. "I think no place in the world is safe, it can happen anywhere and everywhere. Mumbai however has the habit of bouncing back, so I guess in the next two days it will be back to normal."

Moreover shootings for Saat Phere, Mohe Rang De, Balika Vadhu and others were on yesterday and will continue today as well as they have to make up for the loss caused due to the recent strike.

Sharad Malhotra says he hasn't got married

Sharad Malhotra popularly known Amar of Banoo Main Teri Dulhann was rumoured to get married to his co-actor Divyanka Tripathi. But Sharad says the news is completely false. He says Divyanka wasn't even with him on the said day.

"Actually I went to my hometown Kolkatta only for a day during the strike and from there I went to Punjab to meet my cousins. All of us then went to Kashmir. Divyanka was not with us at all," informs Sharad

"And then when I came back I started receiving calls from various people about my supposed marriage which was quite amusing. I told them you are congratulating me for my marriage then please tell me my wife's name also. I will never get married like this and my family knows this very well. For me it is going to be good publicity!" he laughs.

The buzz was that both Sharad and Divyanka went to Vaishnao Devi and have tied the knot in the presence of select friends and family members. However both the actors have refused saying that Divyanka was holidaying in her hometown Bhopal while Sharad was with his cousins in Kashmir.

The actor says that while Mumbai was rife with rumours of his wedding, he was thoroughly enjoying himself in Kashmir. "This is the first time that I went to Kashmir. Earlier I had only heard that it is like heaven on Earth but the atmosphere over there is so nice that I really felt like we were in heaven. It was a good break for me but my mother was upset as I spent only one day with her before going to Kashmir," he signs off.

Banoo Main Teri Dulhann - Back with a Twist

Banoo Main Teri Dulhann will soon have a huge twist and new look too. The producers of the show hope that the change will help them maintain their spot amongst the top shows on television today.

Sharad Malhotra who plays Amar in the show says, "We had a meeting with production house and the channel recently. This twist will almost be like a new beginning for the show. It will be a huge twist and will completely change the face of Dulhann. I am sure after that Dulhann will lead in TRPs."
The producer of the show, Shyam, tells us more. "We have completed 600 episodes recently so we wanted to bring in a new energy in the show. We are going to change the approach of the show. This was something we had decided a few months back itself but then the strike happened. We will have this major emotional twist. I cannot reveal the twist as it will spoil the suspense…However I will assure that it will not mark the exit of any of the characters."

The buzz is that Amar will have a huge accident in the show and this will bring Amar and Divya back together but as always they will not live happily ever after.

Divyanka Tripathi -- better known as Divya in Zee TV's Bano Meri Teri Dulhann -- seems to be at a loss these days. Not only has she lost her old look (due to a makeover in the serial), but also her all important cellphone as well.

In fact, things had reached such a stage that people had to send messages to her co-star Sharad to get through to her. Now, don't go looking that way for gossip!

Divyanka managed to get a new handset finally. Her Dulhann character will now transform into a new one called Vidya. Apart from the swapping of alphabets, Divya's new character will be seen wearing western outfits.

It's trouble in lover's paradise for on and off-screen couple of Banoo Main Teri Dulhann, Sharad Malhotra (Sagar) and Divyanka Tripathi (Vidya). They are having a tough time now that Soni Singh (Surily) has made a re-entry into the serial. Soni Singh seems rather smitten by Sharad and follows him around.

A production house source reveals, "Soni Singh's character was scrapped earlier from the serial. But she lobbied for her role and has made a comeback. She is smitten by Sharad Malhotra in a big way. Soni always wants to be close to Sharad on the sets. She seeks a chance to go to his make-up room. She even wanted Sharad to rehearse with her. But everyone knows that Sharad and Divyanka are very much in love, so she is unwanted baggage. Now, Sharad is very angry with Soni and is behaving very badly with her. Most of the time, the poor girl receives flak from the angry young man."

One of Divyanka's co-stars adds, "Although Sharad and Divyanka are a couple, Divyanka is very insecure about Soni. Divyanka and Soni used to share a common make-up room. Now Soni is now sharing her make-up room with Kamya Punjabi. Soni is on good terms with other actors, because she is a sweet girl. Though she has now become an eyesore for the couple."

Soni Singh, says, "I have returned because the producer thought that my character's reappearance would give a boost to the story."

When asked about her receiving flak from Sharad, she pauses briefly before saying, "Sharad and I used to be very good friends. And sometimes, we used to rehearse our dialogues together. Nowadays, we are so caught up with work that we don't have the time for our co-stars. Life is just too fast."

Despite repeated attempts to contact the couple, Sharad Malhotra and Divyanka Tripathi weren't too enthusiastic about answering calls. Finally Sharad said, "We are shooting day and night and do not have the time to gel with co-actors. I don't have anything else to say."

Divyanka refused to comment on the issue.

Sayantani's tandav in Dulhann

Post the strike all the broadcasters and producers are leaving no stone unturned to revive the connectivity with the audience. One such show is Zee's Dulhann. The production house Shakuntalam Telefilms have roped in Sayantani Ghosh who is known for her dancing talent to perform on a special number.

When contacted actress Sayantani Ghosh said, "It was a great experience as Dulhann is a popular show and it was great working with the unit. I had performed a tandav on the show. I don't know much about the story but my sequence is vital to the show as it is linked with the lead actor Sharad Malhotra aka Sagar."

Ismail Umar Khan, director of the show, informs, "Sayantani's dance number connects the two stories running parallel to each other. She performs on the occasion of Shivratri on the show. In the last episode Divya was seen waiting for her husband Amar with the hope that he may return to her on the eve of Karvachauth. Amar on the other hand is at Gauri's (Anisha Kapoor) place, who too is in love with him. Both of them observe fasts on the occasion of Karvachauth. The next day on Shivratri, Gauri and Amar have to reach the temple where the Shivratri puja is taking place but not before facing problems on their way. Once they reach the temple a few miscreants try to molest Gauri. One will have to wait and watch as to how the story shapes up. The sequence has come out beautifully and Sayantani has impressed us all with her performance."

The episode featuring Sayantani's performance will air on Friday, 5 December,2008 at 8:00 pm. One will have to wait and watch if the performance brings in lost audiences.

Mohit and Addite in trouble on NB?

Nach Baliye's last episode saw the shocking elimination of Jaspal Bhatti and his wife Savita as well as the entry of celeb couple Chetan Hansraj and his wife Lavina.
"This is week it was a bachpan special episode on the show. Everyone was missing Jaspalji who used to make everyone laugh and relax before the show. We all are wishing that he should come back in the show… and you never know it might happen in the wild card round," reveals a source.
But it wasn't great guns for the remaining contestants too. Contestants Mohit and Addite were at the receiving end this week.

"The got mixed comments from judges. Farah was the one who fired them the most. But there is a twist after that in the show… They did an act based on mogli and sher khan," adds the source.

So far Nach Baliye has had four eliminations and one special entry. And of the seven remaining, one more will be eliminated this week.
