Kamya Punjabi to bring in '09 in Lonavla

Kamya Punjabi who used to play Sindoora in Banoo Main Teri Dulhann plans to throw a bash for her close friends in Lonavla.

"This year after Dulhann got over I have been enjoying my holidays. I have been to US, Florida, Shimla where my in laws stay, then to Jagganath Puri, Bhuwaneshwar and after that I have been to Dubai. I had a great time but since I have traveled a lot already in this year, I do not want to go anywhere far to spend my New Year eve," informs Kamya.

"So we have decided that since I have a beautiful farm house in Lonavla we will bring in the New Year there. It is almost at the top of the mountain. So I have just come here to look after all the arrangements as I'm preparing for a party which I will throw for a few of my close friends. We all will spend two days over here and will sight see in Lonavla and Khandala. Since I have got house over here they will stay at my place," she adds.

When asked about what she is expecting in the New Year, she says, "I am not expecting anything from 2009. I do not believe in having resolutions and all. I will get whatever deserves to get."

Last year was good for Kamya personally as she got back to her husband. And although she left her serial Dulhann in between, she will start shooting again for it in 2009.

Sharad hopes for new home in 2009

Shared Malhotra known as Amar of Banoo Main Teri Dulhann hopes to buy his own home in 2009. Sharad who is going to bring in the New Year with his family in Kolkatta spoke to us about his wish for a home.

"Currently I am living Versova, on rent, it is my wish to buy house in Mumbai from many days. Now due to recession I heard that the price of houses have come down by 25% so it is better to buy house at this time. I want to have house in same area…like right now every day when I come back from shoot I get to see the beach, enjoy nice breeze, greenery…where I can have cup of coffee in open air balcony."

"I want to have 2BHK. However I am not sure even after buying a house my family will move here as my father is architect and he has his own firm in Kolkatta from past 20 years which he cannot close down. Moreover my mother's parents also live nearby so it is unlikely that they will come down here," he adds disappointingly.

Sharad is also interested in interior designing and hopes to do up his new home himself.

"Since my father is architect I have a hobby of decorating things. I like to do interiors like which curtains will be suitable for which room, keeping flower vases, lamps at particular places. I like doing all these things but it needs money and time too and so with my hectic schedule it sometimes becomes difficult."

Sharad is going to have family get together for New Year in Kolkatta.

I am happy to hear rumours about myself: Divyanka Tripathi

Divyanka Tripathi, who plays Divya in Banoo Main Teri Dulhann, is surprisingly happy about the rumours surrounding her, saying she loves knowing that people give her so much importance.

The first rumour is that she does not get with her co-stars, especially Aneesha Kapoor, the show's latest entrant. "It's not that we don't really get along. It's just that we haven't spent enough time with each other. Now why would I have a problem with her? I am not here to compete with anyone. I'm only here to do my job to the best of my ability. I believe in living life happily."
It was also claimed that she was going to marry her co-star Sharad Malhotra (Amar). Divyanka, however, says that they hardly speak to each other.

"I do not even interfere in Sharad's work. We are good friends, but we are professionals. Whenever I am doing a scene, he respects my judgement. He does not give me any advice. And I don't say anything to him either. In fact, we hardly even talk to each other when we are doing a scene."

About the rumours, she says, "It is all bakwas. I do not give importance to such things. I keep hearing about these things. And you may not believe it, but they actually make me happier. It's good to know that people give me so much importance."

However, one rumour – that she was in an argument with Kamya Punjabi (Sindoora) – does hold true. This argument was regarding her relationship with Sharad. Divyanka said, "Yes, there was a slight misunderstanding, you could say. She said some things about me and Sharad. She should have not said those things, but it's alright. I've decided to forget about it. When she returns to the show, I'm sure we'll get along just like before."

Back from the dead

Kamya Panjabi returns as Sindoora in Banoo Main Teri Dulhann
After creating havoc in the lives of Amar (Sharad Malhotra) and Divya (Divyanka Tripathi) Kamya Panjabi aka Sindoora who was dead in Banoo Main Teri Dulhann will be back in action.

Our source on the sets revealed, "She will be back as the channel and the production house wants to introduce a new angle in the show. She will start shooting by the end of this month."

Kamya Panjabi confirmed, "Yes, Sindoora is coming back to Dulhann. I am very happy. I played Sindoora for so long that it has almost become my identity. I was approached by the production house and channel and the offer was too tempting to resist."

She continued, "I was doing Comedy Circus 2 and Kaante Ki Takkar for Sony. It was a great change for me. I did not know that the audience would like me so much in the shows. After my death in Dulhan I took a much needed break. I went to the US and spent quality time with my husband Bunty Negi."

How would she be re-introduced in the show? "This is something that I cannot tell you as I am under contract. It is only between me, the production head of the show and the channel's head."

However according to our sources Kamya is undergoing a makeover for the role. She will emerge as a vamp, but in order to give a twist to the tale she will be introduced as a good person. All the family members will be confused about whether she is the real Sindoora or not. Later on she will show her true colours. Meanwhile, in Banoo Main Teri Dulhann, Amar has married Gauri (Anisha Kapoor) but her backstory is not clear. Sources say that there are chances that Sindoora will return as Gauri's relative.

Smart and dashing Sharad Malhotra aka Amar of Dulhan turns 26 today. The actor says he has taken a day off from work as he will enjoy the day with his friends.

"I have taken an off today and I plan to start my day with God's blessings. I'll go for shopping where I will get my friends to buy things for me as it's my birthday and then I'll go for dinner with them," exclaims the birthday boy.

Every year Sharad celebrates his birthday with just a small dinner with his friends and cousins. "Last year my mom was here on my birthday so I'll definitely miss her this time" says Sharad.

Sharad has immense faith in God and that is why every year he starts his day first by seeking His blessings and that is what he would do this time too. "I want to go to Jeev Daani (Viraar) and most probably I'll go there today."

Sharad's most memorable birthday was last evening when the Dulhann unit members celebrated his birthday on the sets. "They got 3 cakes for me...there were 70-80 people and then there was media. It was excellent! It all came as a surprise to me and therefore I'll always remember this birthday," says the birthday boy.

Divyanka: I am not leaving Dulhann

Divyanka Tripathi who plays Divya in Banoo Main Teri Dulhann says she is not leaving the show. In fact the actress says that she doesn't even want to take up other show as she is enjoying her track of pregnancy in the show.

"Dulhann is picking up again now. I want to concentrate on Dulhann right now and I do not want to take up any other show. In between I was not enjoying the track that much but since Amar and Divya have gotten back together and Divya is pregnant, I am enjoying? You know the way she feels craving for different things and how Amar fulfills all her wishes like singing songs, taking her out and even bringing so many things for her. We have been shooting for those scenes and it feels very nice, " says Divyanka with a smile.
But what about all the reports that she wanted out of the serial?

"The story is going very strong right now and in such a situation who will want leave this show? It is all false news that I am leaving Dulhann or they are giving me break," says Divyanka.

The buzz in the industry suggests that Divyanka was anchoring the show Jalwa 4 2 Ka 1 on 9X without taking permission from her production house and this had upset them.
"Right now Jalwa's shooting is also not happening and we do not know when it will happen? I shot for them long time back. Therefore I am doing this show only," informs the actress.

Sharad Malhotra plans to take advantage of recession!

Sharad Malhotra popularly known as Amar of Banoo Main Teri Dulhann believes that current economic situation is affecting all industries and the actor hopes that with it hitting real estate, he will be able to buy himself a cheap house.
"Only favourable thing is that I hear real estate is also down and home loans have also become cheap so I am planning to buy a flat in Mumbai in a few months. Even vehicles have become cheaper but since I have one car I cannot buy more. It is difficult to maintain cars," says Malhotra.
But one can't help but wonder if maintenance of the car is getting a bit high for Sharad. Last week we spotted Sharad traveling in a rickshaw near Andheri station. And the actor continued to lean behind so that nobody would recognize him!

"We work so hard to earn everything and it is very saddening when we hear stories about cost cutting and everything. I have seen my unit members getting affected by this. This is a very bad phase as most of them have lost their jobs as they work on daily basis. All of us work for only three things - roti, kapda aur makan," adds the actor.

The actor who is only a part of one show says that the while there hasn't been an issue in getting their salaries, the pressure is definitely on to cut costs.

"I wish the economic situation would improve. Yahan par toh sabka band baj rahi hai. It surely affects us also though not as badly as we are mostly under a contract with our production houses and channels and so we get our payments on time."

Sindoora is back with granny look

Kamya Punjabi who plays the vamp Sindoora is back with a new look in Dulhann. She entered the show last night. The actress talks to us about her return to the show.

How does it feel to get back to Dulhann after so many days?
Dulhan is my show and it feels very nice to be back once again. Actually I was never out of Dulhan as in I was never away from my team. I used to visit the sets regularly and every week we all used to go for lunch or sometimes chaai together. Even after my exit, we all were in touch. I love my entire unit but yes, I did miss shooting.
How did you feel when you gave that first shot after so many days?
I was very excited! When I gave my first shot, the entire unit welcomed me by clapping.

How did the production house decide to bring Sindoora back in this form?
The production house wanted me to come back as a double?with the same concept that my identity will be revealed at a later stage. But I made it very clear that I want to come back in a unique way. Hence I came up with this idea which I could relate to how Sindoora dies in the show. And fortunately when I told my producer, she was very happy.

So this is for sure that you are back as Sindoora only?
Yes? definitely! I made it very sure that I am back as Sindoora and she can not have any other name. Sindoora is my soul. Eventually when I read about her comeback I was not convinced by the way she was supposed to, so I decided to think of something which could relate to Sindoora's past and here I am!

Your look seems to be very different. Please tell us something about your new look.
I have entered the show as a mentally challenged woman. Hence I need to look like one. This Sindoora is very wild and violent full of revenge and at the same time scared of her son too. We've worked a lot on the look as in we actually went to many mental asylums to actually see how they look? I've there fore tried to be like one with all those grey hair and wrinkles all around my face but I've no regrets. All I can tell you is that I haven't even worn lip balm.

How comfortable are you with grey hair and wrinkles?
I am very okay with that. As it is I don't wear lot of make-up and most importantly, I believe that this salt and pepper look suits my character the best. I want to look like Sindoora and not Kamya!

What was your first reaction when you saw yourself in the mirror with this get up?
I didn't realize how scary I looked until I actually saw myself in the mirror when I went to the loo. I literally got scared!

Why did you decide to back in a non glamorous look?
Doing something convincing and challenging is more important than looking glamorous. And I also feel that this performance has a lot of scope in terms of career.

Will this look be continued in the show further too?
Don't know exactly? but I think we will improvise as Sindoora recovers and becomes mentally stable.

Who has been your inspiration for this role?
No one! I invent things myself. I think hard that what can I give to my character and that's how I inspire myself.

You've shared sour relations with your co-stars Divyanka and Sharad. How is it now?
I am an actor and believe me, we three are very professional and we share a good rapport. Yes, there were some problems initially but our work has never suffered because of that. And anyways, now things are fine.

Will you be seen in any other shows except Dulhann in the near future?
No?presently I just want to concentrate on my show.

Kamya grows old in Dulhann

TV's popular vamp Kamya Punjabi is back on Dulhann but this time in a look that most actors would think twice before saying yes to. She looks almost ghoulish and very de-glam. Kamya now will spew venom and create hassles in the lives of the lead Divyanka Tripathi and Sharad Malhotra. But the twist in the tale is the fact that Sindoora has lost her sanity this time post her confrontation with Amar and Divya and would be seen decaying in the prison when the character resurfaces. The look she has been given is wild and untamed, very unlike what Kamya is in real life.

Kamya is excited about the new look of her character. The channel and the production house took months to freeze on this look as it was very important for Sindoora's character to look convincing. Kamya's every look in the show has always garnered rave reviews for her as she takes personal interest while deciding upon a new appearance.

When asked if the actress is not wary of doing old characters, Sindoora said, "I am not at all wary of portraying older characters older than my real age. I am different from other actors and I prefer to look in my character. I know that Kamya in real life looks hot and sexy but the character of Sindoora is 60 years of age and thus justifies the look."

"Dulhann had turned completely lack lustre without me. Now that I am back, I am sure the punch will be back. Divyanka and Sharad better watch out for me," concludes the actress.

I want to be a mother: Kamya

Kamya Punjabi has made her comeback as Sindoora in Dulhan (Zee TV) but in real life, the actress is craving to become a mother. She talks to us about it…

"Yes, now it's enough," says the actress, "now I want to concentrate on my family and have some babies. I want to get pregnant and sport a belly. In fact I've decided that after Dulhan, I'll take a break and have babies. I just can't wait anymore to become a mother!"
She has decided on everything; right from her clothes to her food during her pregnancy. She tells us, "I'll wear short dangris and short flairy skirts. I and my baby will pose for pictures where we will wear the same clothes of the same colour and pattern. I'll take special care of myself regarding my food."
Punjabi quips, "I'll go for singing classes, then I'll go for shopping where I can pick up matching clothes for me and my baby. I will go to my friends' place and call them over sometime and have fun without any worries."

And who will take care of the baby?
"My mom stays in my colony (Thakur Complex) so she will come and stay with me. I desire to take my baby to Disney World in US and I'll make sure that I take him/her there," says the aspiring mother.

It seems Kamya is all set to be ready for motherhood as she tells us that she has even started going for regular check-ups. She says, "I visit my gynecologist regularly and now I've even made sure that I don't smoke at all and also abstain from alcohol."

Surprisingly, the actress says she is not at all attached to kids! Then how did she make up her mind for this? She replies, "No, I am not one of those who love kids and loves to pamper them… rather I am very harsh with them. But I love my 10 year old nephew, Kunal, and I am very attached to him."

She even says that she will be a very strict mother. "I have two younger sisters and I've always treated them as my daughters. I know that when I'll be a mother, I'll not be the one who will pamper; I'll be very strict as a mother."

So, when is she deciding to start a family?
"I am just waiting for Dulhan to wrap up… but that doesn't mean that I'll wait for five years if the show goes on for another five years. I'll wait for another one year maximum and then I'll start my family," signs off the actress.

Hope we get to see you with a baby bump soon…
