It is quite possible that DM has a secret in his life which Motiben knows and also Subhadra knew about .Motiben is protecting her brother and thererfore does not want anybody from a less previlaged class to be part of her home or family. But the fact that DM married Santu in rather unusual circumstances is poetic justice playing out its inevitible role. In real life retribution and poetic justice are not always to be found. But the human mind looks for it everywhere and writers of scripts be it for films or soaps express this universal human desire through the might of their pen.
