I wonder what Anandi is doing to search her daughter? Just seating at home and watching her snab nothing else.

I think Mangala the widow of the eldest son is using her position to shield Nandini to a large extent and she must be feeding that girl without others seeing her and even the others who are nice to that little girl must be helping her cope with life.
Little girl is cheerful and is able to over look the worst part of her life with the help of few good people.

This is what Strong means Anandiis called strong - Someone who is able to overcome the dark phases in life and not let he dark part of the life overwhelm her.
They are showing Nandini also the same way - Not letting the darkness she is surrounded with seep into her life.

@bold red - Very true.Don't we see street kids having without a care in the world? We also see kids who despite having everything still being sad and feel that there is something lacking in life.

Street children's life is different. Either they live with their parents, who provide to them whatever they can - or they live in a world where other children too are similarly tortured - and so it does not affect them as much as the child living in a home full of vicious people and see everyday how the other children (husband or his sister) are being pampered. Here Nandini was roaming happily in home, eating laddos that were being prepared by women, she was not the one making laddo and being reprimanded for eating one of them, was playing pranks on her husband(which child will do that if the husband is much older than her and was cruel?). And considering she was kidnapped when she was a baby and the family is full of monsters - how can she even dare to play a prank? And why she was asking Mangla again and again to hit her?

The house also has some good people. Only the inlaws (2 people) seem to be bad and the husband indifferent. Tortured children tend to forget their tortures and try to be happy whenever they find opportunity. They are not adults to continue feeling sad. What about children who have everything, yet are unhappy with hangdog expressions?Who says that street children are not beaten or starved by their parents or caretakers? Who says all the street children are uniformly tortured so that they all try to be happy among themselves?
Even those 2 bad people wont starve Nandini unnecessarily. They seem to be rich and generous too. They may use starving as a punishment but not as a daily thing.

I have a doubt about Mangala's devi roop. Isn't she the one who supposedly said Kundan has some dosh and they should do child marriage to solve it? Or did I assume something wrong?

But they are calling her Nimboli. This itself shows how much bitterness they have towards her.

Kidnapping a baby, getting her married to their son, calling her nimboli without giving a proper name all this is enough to show to what extent they can abuse an innocent.

The girl is developing defence mechanism against physical torture too. She asked Mangla to hit her hard.

Mangala Devi look like a psycho. Perhaps has dual personality. Perhaps she is not bad, perhaps she likes to get things done as per her wish and takes refuge in devi to do so. Even in real life - this devi aana is done to get attention, to get work done. She may not torture Nandini, but I doubt that she will help the girl. It is difficult to judge anything on the basis of two episodes. But one thing is clear - she does not tortures Nandini - she is at least good to her because of the way Nandini was shown talking to her.

Mostly she is faking that devi act. To get things done. The andhvishwasis like Akhera and his wife will understand only the language of devi and bhoot.

But her act was not convincing. It looked half hearted. There are others who go full throttle.

So far, it looks like she is doing this for her own selfish reasons even though she is not a bad person. Had she faking it for general good, she would not have asked them to get Kundan married. Seeing how bad Akhera and his family is - she could have told him never to get married their boy. Or after seeing Nandini's plight - she could have warn them in devi roop that this child should never be treated badly otherwise it will harm them... Let us wait to see what creatives have planned.
