Talking from personal experience, when my baby was in acute distress and about to be transferred to another hospital for acute care,my hubby did not give me details. Everything happens so fast in the medical world. Your worLd literally gets turned upside down. One goes through the different stages of grief (denial, anger, pity, hope, acceptance...) and everyone has different coping mechanisms. My husband is not a talker. He couldn't express himself because he was still coming to terms with the devastating news. My coping skill, was also choosing isolation and introspection. We chose electronic media to communicate with extended family because we couldn't cope with the questions in the early stages. You're in crisis mode, internally and externally. The worst news to ever receive is that your child has a terminal illness. It's also the worst secret to ever sit on but we do sit on it until we can muster the courage to come to terms with it, gather ourselves and get ready to fight with all that we have. You're in 'fight' mode from then on in. Fighting insurance companies, fighting medical teams, fighting mindsets, fighting red tape, fighting to change rules and policies, fighting for services, fighting GOD. Fight, fight fight. Chronically Sleep deprived. Chronically worried. Chronically fatigued. Chronically depressed. Suffering PTSD. BUT still putting on a brave face for your child's sake, for your spouse's sake.

All have raised good points about why Jagya chose to hide the truth from Ganga.

However, since Ganga also has a medical background, the situation is slightly different from normal. The sooner he informs her, the easier it will be for her in the long-term. I can still understand keeping it a secret from the rest of the family, but not from Ganga - as a medical person and as a mother.

Jagya is a doctor but in Mannu's case he is a father first. He is in denial as any parent would be. He knew what the test results could mean but still had to hear it from the doctor as he could not say it himself.

About telling Ganga, As a doctor he can tell the family of the patient but to tell his wife that their son is ill; I am not saying that he is right in not telling her about it but this is the child she fought death itself for; How can you tell this to a mother even though she is a nurse and may see this on a regular basis without hurting her.

If he would have told her that more tests need to be done it could mean only one thing that there could be something wrong.

But still in the precap they showed that she will find out from someone else; the other doctor seriously it may be for TRP; she should find it from him;

I don't want to see any friction between them because he did not tell her

+++++

Wow me defending Jagya What a morning!!! but when he is right he is right for me too.

Doctors and nurses are first and foremost, human with very real human relationships. Having a medical background actually makes it more difficult because knowledge of the harsh realities of a diagnosis, side effects of drugs etc are a curse. SOMETIMES, in some cases, ignorance is bliss, cos it helps with coping.
Doctors as a rule never operate on their own kin because of the emotional and ethical aspect of the situation. At least that's what I know is the case here in the states.

So many viewers are upset just at the thought of cute Manu, a child, being subjected to a life threatening illness. Multiply that infinitely for a parent. It's beyond comprehension. It's beyond explanation.

In situations like this, there should be no finger pointing as to what is or isn't appropriate behavior. All that matters is that spouses support each other through this storm. In reality many marriages fail in a crisis of this sort. Sab nazariye ki baat hote hain.

He will need treatment, chemotherapy or some strong medicines which will most likely make him vomit a lot - these medicines are not benign like saanchi's meds which can just be easily added in juice or milk - anti-cancer drugs have a lot of devastating side-effects that cant be concealed.

Seriously, i dont understand what Jagya was thinking yes it will hurt her and alarm her, but still... shouldnt she know?? and wouldnt she find out eventually?

Agree. instead of simply lying that the test report is all fine, he should have told her diplomatically that the reports dont seem to be all correct and need to be redone. It looked foolish. 🤢

But what I found even more absurd was ganga asking Jagya about the reports only after discussing all nonsense about Kabra sending his brother to jail. She even made jagya call him .. how stupid. 😡 That news seemed more important to her than her son's blood report.

Any mother would be more concerned about her own son's health than some random kabra's news in the paper. But anyways, when was this mother concerned abut her son? He was always her last priority.😒

I understand Jagya is in shock and denial and would have probably told Ganga the truth after meeting with the oncologist but he was wrong. This is not the type of thing to hide from Ganga, she should've been there when he met with the oncologist.

Apart from the right and wrong part, I wonder how Mannu's real life mom lets her child act in such episodes where he has such a dreaded disease etc.. I may be over-reacting but wouldnt want my small child to be associated with such story line at all

I guess it depends on compensation - He can well earn his college fees through this at a young age.

In addition, he gets a lot of exposure which may earn him a role in the movies etc. I cant say whether he is a good actor or not but he is very good at following instructions and directions.

Playing a child with cancer seems to be a small price to pay.

I wouldn't say you are over-reacting kase, but maybe you are not invested in practical/monetary concerns.

In addition, this story-line has cropped up just last week, and in good faith, Manu's mother can't suddenly yank him out of the show - it would be unprofessional. Maybe she wouldn't have given him explicitly to play a cancer kid right from the get-go, but now he is already in the middle of playing the role, so yanking him out might have implications for contract etc.

Personally I don't think I would mind it in his mother's place provided they did not make him cry in the name of showing either the disease or the treatment. I wouldn't want them to pinch the child or beat him or something to show him to be sad or crying or in pain. So far, they haven't done anything like that, and it is just Jagya and Ganga feeling the pain. Manu is still shown laughing and carefree.
