I think replacements do make a difference but if a show is still running then it does not mean that replacement was accepted or old actor leaving didn't matter. It's because people watch out of habit or due to lack of a better alternative.

Also these media guys should compare the extent of success of a show. How it was on #1 or constantly in top 3 and how later, it was mostly in top 10 or top 15 or with some explosive track, even entered top 5 for a week but never sustained the absolute top ranking it used to enjoy earlier.

Shows probably haven't gone off air because familiar and old characters are still there and it's not completely filled with strangers. Among new characters, Shiv is lapped up which is also a bonus for CVs. Had the show killed off or replaced all familiar faces or story gone totally haywire then it'd go off air.

We should respect creative persons' choices but I dislike how neither actors nor PH people bother about audience. Or I guess audience should be as aggressive as IPKKND fandom and bring PH to its knees if their favorite show is messed with (I salute that fandom!).

Colors meanwhile seems to be literally gloating over the fact that they replaced or stopped showing Gehna, Gauri, Ganga and even Anandi, and also replaced others like Sugna, Shyam etc. still their show's some "chartbuster"! At least other producers tried to be diplomatic in their statements and give some credit to actors also.

It's very tough for TV actors! Especially in this era. I doubt if BR Chopra could even think of replacing a side character also in his magnum opus Mahabharat! Replacements used to be negligible till 2000.

It all depends on why people watch a particular show.

The argument of concept no longer holds water. Concept is over after all child brides and bridegrooms settled in adult marriages. What we have now is routine or plain sensationalism drama. There is not even any message any more.

I agree that after Anandi replacement the show mainly survived on male leads. After Ganga has also gone, now the show is even more dependent on male leads.

Even new guys like that baba and Sanchi's new lust object get more screenspace than Anandi.

Agreed BV is not a love story or even a show where main lead was everything (like Ekta's K serials' Tulsis and Parvatis). It helped that Anandi was not a proactive main lead rather a reactive one.

In DKDM also they readily retain or throw out anyone except Mahadev himself. 😆

PH guys seem to be avoiding making any actor's character the mainstay and instead make stories where characters can come and go.

In case of BV if Jagya, Basant, Bhairon, Sumitra and even Dadisa are bumped off then they will have real problem in staying on "top". Ekta made mistake when along with leads she also made all side characters disappear without explanation or killed/replaced them. BV has other cast plus knack of milking any issue in town so they did not suffer. Good for them!

Wow wat a though. No doubt why TV channels are going in hell slowly. Say na that we are biger and actors who work hard and make your show is smaller for you. Why draging viewers? You ppl never honest to them. Hame toh bhugatna hai, but we never accepted replacment whole heartedly ever. Nakli purja nakli hota hai it can work but not like oriznal. This is the respect they gave to someones hardwork? Pehle baten banake phasao jab kam nikal jaye then you dont care. All channels are suffring from financial problems and this suffering will increas more. Karo apni manmani. By the way when Pratyusha left Sriti was there as Ganga and an honest story was there so your show did well but now that honesty is gone from story its all fake. For me I never accept replacements.
