Neha - I so agree with you!! I wish they had adressed the issue with a mindset to solve the original problem - the male approach! yesterday there was an article in HT that the UK students who came to delhi for foreign exchange program said that the city is so unsafe that they will never return here in their life.Now tell me can u even teach the foreigner girls martial arts or when they come on airport is pepperspray the first thing u handover to them?? What a reputation our country will have.

Its not abt teaching the imp of self-defense its about changing the mindset of men.But what seems is that the great BV director also agrees in the view of "not to get molested" than "stop molesting"

I agree neha self defense cant be of any importance if 6 monsters together attack a women that too with weapons like iron rods.No martial arts can help.And since changing the mindset is a slow process what we need is instilling fear by enforcement of strong laws.But since BV doesnt want to invite any trouble from govt ofcourse it wont address the issue of that how such criminals get away easily from the hands of law.

And my ques is why shud girls only have to go to that extra mile to protect themselves.What is law and order for?Its taught in a self defense class that u have to be alert always.Kyun bhai?Why cant a girl have the freedom of talking on phone or having a nap or listening to music in a bus or metro??Are we born to always "protect" ourselves???Why cant govt do something in this regard.But ofcourse as if BV will say anything against the misnters and law.It takes real guts to do that.

It has to be done both ways
