Women empowerment is the need of the hour and it is one of the most important preventive measures.

People who commit this act are not prevented by fear . They are out of their minds and fear of the law is the last thing on their mind.

See the mantality?? Its the fear of law which stopped them frm attempting anything.

It is very important part apart from teaching sons how to respect women.

It may be ifactiv in case of molesting but in rape case where 6months baby and little girls got raped in this country, giving a msg of selfdefence is mockry of womens. This is a very sensitive issu, 14 se 17yrs ki girls pe kya psycological efact pad raha hai iska? when That Shilpa Shetty said wid showing her 32teeths "girls apne paas chaku rakhiya aap apni sefty khud kijiye hehehe" she and other people thinks its a jock?

They are showing that CS and his wife is present and they are showing importance of self defence but why it is assumed that they are not going to do anything for changing the mentality of the men.

A law can never benefit the one who has already been victimized.But it can surely help the ones who can become future victims.

The self defense thing is questionable because it promotes the "dont get molested" message than "don't molest" and also its of no use if a number of ppl attack a girl.

Harshest of laws surely have helped the girl in case she survived.The physical wounds would heal in a time but the fact that the ones who victimized her had been given there due would have instilled fearlessness and confidence in her.The fact that because of her many future victims can be saved would have instilled pride in her.

But first of all I want an answer to my question from all who r supporting self defense...will it be of any help if 6-8 ppl attack you together??And if some foreign students come or some ppl from abroad come to india will we first teach them martial arts???

There was an instance where a Got medical college hospital has invited the collector was invited to address a gathering of doctors who were there to attend a medical education update workshop . He spoke about importance of keeping oneself updated on the latest knowledge. 😆

I was a witness to that. So we can very well say what the collector was doing in a gathering like that. What qualification does he have to address a gathering of doctors?

As far I can remember from my school days collector and his patni if he has one both used to get invited for school functions and college function.

it is very normal to have visits & speeches from the collector + wife for various institutional annual functions ... and demos could very well be part of the speech...and a collector doing that himself will propagate a strong message...maintenance of law and order is very much part of the DC responsibilities.

self-defense is very relevant and an important message to be conveyed...very good cause being shown in BV...and we have to start somewhere ! changing mindsets will not happen overnight but self-defense skills can be developed fast...and may be helpful in many cases.

and let me also share that India is a lot more safer than many other so called developed countries...😕

Its useless because it starts with the wrong motivation. Go to the extra mile because we as law makers cant do anything to protect you so you have to protect urself from the monsters of the society.When the mindset is this only hoe can we expect our society will ever change.Self-defense itself negates the idea of "change in mentality of men".If they know women r now better trained they will have simple solution...attack in a group.Because they wont have any fear that law will give them there due.

Luk every girl or human being have their own nature, some dosnt lyk violence, some has fighting spirits, some has soft heart, you have to protect shoft people too, yong teenage girls are very sensitive, these msgs makes a big impact in their mind, the mahan judjment of indiand law itself gave a bad msg to them,
