In Jayetsar, nobody really listened to her because of herself per se. She had the added paraphernalia of the umbrella of the singhs. 90% of the village worked in the farms of dadisa and bhairon and basant. and so they sort of listened to her because they were scared to lose their livelihoods. I feel she did good work in terms of setting up institutional frameworks like schools etc... but the people never listened to her because of the logic or common sense of her arguments.

Stepping out of Jayetsar, she feels that she carries the same weight, but the bar owners and the husbands of these women are not dependent on dadisa and consequently there is no real weight that anandi carries.

She has no foresight -- and believes in "shaming" tactics through her long lectures, which also worked in Jayetsar but carry no weight the moment she steps across the village border line. Here the gundas are a whole different ball game altogether.

Anandi needs to have a sense of where she is and whom she is dealing with now.

I actually agree with what Sector has to say. I think it's about time Anandi didn't have it so easy doing her samaj seva.

Seriously though, Anandi has to be really naive to think that the incident in the bar was not going to come back to bite her in the bum. She has courted enough danger to have known better.

As the Puuurfect, extraordinary bahu, Anandi should have personally checked that her saas is ok with her bazaar. They don't live in such a huge house that they can't speak to each other. Why only show her asking Shiv repeatedly if its ok. As if that would absolve her? If she had such a strong doubt on her saas she should have followed her instincts.

Right now I want to to enjoy Ira's ire!! Even if its not COMPLETELY justified.
