It's hard to believe Daddu was in the military. It's hard to believe Ira is his bahu.
Normally bahu's of military people are made of sterner stuff. Ira is so easily rattled with everything. How did Shiv and even Saanchi stay away in hostels fr so long. Ira smothers them. She should just wrap them in bubble wrap. Call her Jamai Raja and wrap him up too. Zip up their mouths and tell them that they are her personal voodoo dolls.

Speaking of voodoo dolls. Maybe we should make one of Saanchi and stick her with a needle every time she speaks a lie or manipulates someone.🤣

Anandi getting a yelling from Ira is a 'kan vich tand pay gayi scene?hmmm
and Anandi actually does manmani??? since when?

Lets count:

Anandi when she was a child, always got yelled at and her crying was nooonnn stop.
She could not even eat the way she wanted.
When she grew up , she could not be with her husband the way she wanted
She could nto study the way she wanted
Most of the time it was NEVER her manmani , rather her patience that made her get what she wants eventually.

it was only after Jagya's betrayal did Dadisa actually started caring more for her. Before that she was the favorite punching bag of DS.

Even her marriage with Shiv was forced on her so what manmani?

i agree Ira is right this time that Anandi should not have just gone ahead and picked a fight with the bar wala but many social workers do exactlyt eh same

She got her learnings from her teacher ji, who if people forgot did exactly that. She marched into the zone where people supported Balvivah. She opposed them and then got herself locked.

So since when is what Anandi did with allt he women such a different approach. Rather this is what many have done.

I am not sure how 'other way' could htat situation be handled. Either tell her NOT to do samaj seva ... or if she does it then it comes with all kinds of dangers.

So even though what Ira said makes sense, technically, then she should just sit home and not do anything.

Anandi already told Ira this before marriage that if her work comes between her house hold duties then she will choose the later. So its just Ira needs to tell her stop , but then again Shiv will not let her stop.

But what i don't understand is why should Shiv be the buffer to

save her from Ira's wrath while she stays tongue tied at any sexist nonsense of Ira , any dirty blame of Ira [ she trapped my golden boy who could have got so much better]

to 'allow' her to do social work by going against his mother

where is Anandi in this

is she only Shiv's wife or is she Anandi

the nonsense Ira has said lately is extremely insulting and though i am not exactly her fan , as a woman it infuriates me that Anandi takes it with a plastic smile . I am ready to support her if she takes on Ira like Ratan Singh whom she rattled by advancing when held at gun point without Shiv's help .

See suchi, why does the question of shiv "letting" her stop even arise? Is he in a superior position to give her permission? Do they have no equality in the marriage to decide what is important for themselves? Is anandi now a subservient snivelling fool?
Rather than the independent learner of teacherji's values and principles, Anandi has become a people pleaser. And people pleasers rarely get anything serious accomplished in life.

I think the key here is that ira and anandi probably had different definitions of social service.
Ira has probably thought of it as harmless 'soft' volunteer work, teaching in a school, volunteering at a hospital, teaching women arts and crafts to help enhance their earnings etc. She nurtured that aspect of social service.
Anandi on the other hand has a more militant brand of social service and takes on social vices and ills.
It would have behoved anandi to have had a comprehensive discussion with Ira as to what sorts of dangers will follow, since anandi is no stranger to them -- heth singh had her kidnapped etc. etc.
In terms of what 'other' ways anandi could have handled it -- I still feel that she didn't have to go into the bar herself and start throwing her weight around. There were ways of doing it in which she could have remained anonymous and still have the bar shut down.
Would these ways have involved shiv's support. Certainly. But so what? He is the collector and he has machinery.
In her bid to make her "apni pehchaan" I don't think that she had to go and advertise herself to the bar owner. There are risks involved and unnecessarily courting risks for the sake of one's ego is not necessary.
I know teacherji went and singlehandedly fought against bal vivah. But teacherji was single and it was her commitment to her cause. She was willing to bear the repercussions.
Here anandi has a family that will also be targeted in the near future. Are they willing to bear the repercussions? No. they are not (at least some of them are not). It seems really unfair to sacrifice the rest of the shekhars at the cross if they are not willing to bear the cost of the repercussions of anandi's social work.
