Very good points. Let me first state that when I initially watched this show, I watched it for Anandi. But now her story is finished as there is not much scope left for her character. The CVs want to artificially insert in the story and hence she is dumbed down to create future artificial conflicts. Otherwise, I have no problem with Anandi as she was a great character but has unfortunately been turned into a bland one-dimensional character. The good thing would have been if they had finished her story by showing that she is happily settled with Shekhar family and is combining a career with family life. Then they could have moved to Jagya's story and then finish the serial when his story too ends. Even though it is a story of Balika Vadhu, Jagya too was an equal victim in the beginning as this marriage with Anandi was not his choice either. His mistakes as an adult were his to make and he has suffered for those choices and is atoning for them.
As far as Anandi's character is concerned, the distasteful thing in last week's engagement was Anandi giving that kamarband to Saanchi. If it belonged to Singh family's bahu, she could have returned it to Sumitra/Dadisa. Then it was up to them to give it to Saanchi or not. Why would she hold on to a jewelry piece meant for Singh's family when she is married to another person. Either keep it as a piece of property that belongs to her (legally court allows a woman to keep her jewelry given in a marriage even if marriage breaks down) as a financial backup (not an emotional reminder of Jagya) or return it to the family. Giving it to Saanchi directly was in bad taste. The funny thing was that none of Shekhar family thought that it was inappropriate.
Then it is Anandi neglecting her own father, but running to Jetser at the drop of hat. I understand that she is close to this family and is like a daughter, and should be involved in their functions. But there is very little mention of her biological father who all her life has only cared for her. He is all alone in a village and yet she never ever visits him. He is the one who truly needs her as she is the only daughter.
So I agree with hooked that she might as well tie a rakhi to Jagya. The whole family never ever misses Sugna, but misses Anandi. They can miss Anandi, but they should be shown having feelings for Sugna too.
They could have shown Anandi hesitating to tell her doubts to Ira as she is not ready to listen anything against her daughter. But at the least, she could have told these doubts to Dadisa too. As Kools mentioned, Jagya was her childhood friend and a son of the family for whom she cares a lot.
Of course Singh family has been dumbed down too when they don't remember that not long ago, Saanchi had publicly made fun of Anandi in her wedding. After their experience with Gauri, shouldn't they be at least a little cautious about Saanchi. Yet they don't blink an eye seeing Saanchi's bossiness and treat it as her eagerness to be with Jagya.
As far as Ganga is concerned, she is a very young girl who has been through a lot in her short life. She is a human being too who craves love. So when this family gave her affection (even though it was associated with charity) and treated her as a family member, she is entitled to miss it and feel emotional about it.
I too like Jagya booking the ticket and declaring that he is going to Mangalore. So he is not asking for permission, but just telling them of his plans. Jagya is doing absolutely the right thing where he gave in to family's demands, but now wants to fulfill his responsibilities.
