Yeah, agree on this. That looked unbelievable. That actually looked like she has good rapo with the inspector and he always helps her in such cases 😃 but creatives can take that much liberty 😆

CVs will not show reality. The way Ganga's education is being shown is completely unrealistic and now the super-fast divorce also. Anandi's NGO will also be like this (don't know if it is actually NGO, because Shiv is said to be associated with it, when in fact Government servants cannot be associated with NGOs). If they are serious about domestic violence victims, they should show victims themselves standing against such abuse, because unless and until the victim herself wants to come out of such abuse, no outsider can help her.

This is a very nice post libs and true it is not easy for a woman to fight against abuse but daily soap will have some drama in it at least .bv shows some social issue and chanda s case does not come to an end see the new promo but if i may say .bv is going gandhi way however at last anandi starts on something other than cooking arranging ex hubby s marriage and crying for haveli

really Anandi's lecture are not enough to redeem any person in real life

So true

Abuser husbands go back to their boozing , womanizing and hitting , NOTHING stops them or improves them EVER

Best is convincing the women to break free , by filing for divorce and seeing to it that they r financially independent

The FIR has to be filed by Chanda alone

And so many women do NOT crowd and call the social worker lady a devi etc , infact it is extremely hard work to get them to even open their mouth against their abuser husbands...they remain silent and shy away from being truthful and vocal

what was shown today was unreal .

good post @libsrocks 😊

you are right @koolsadhu1000...CVs make things so easy for anandi...😕...guess thats required for the dramatic effect...so let's just assume a that a complaint was lodged by anandi with the consent of chanda.

in such cases ...in practice police never intervenes unless there's a formal domestic incident report as domestic violence falls under civil law, anyone can file but with the consent of the victim...infact in emergencies victim can herself just call up or send email to the local protection officer or the SP...even thats enough to begin with...the protection officer is required to visit the facility immediately alongwith the police but can take any action only against a formal DIR..this is a very strong law and there are many options available for the victim in the form of protection cells, shelter home & also medical treatment etc...in collaboration with NGOs, quick action is also taken...but these facilities may not be available in all the towns.

the cause taken by anandi is very nobel...but the approach could have been a little refined...she should have first taken chanda into confidence, understood her relationship with the husband...and then explained her about various options available...and what kind of support she can get...rather than barging into her house with the police...that would never work in real world...the victims would be dead scared to even utter a word...and in all probability this approach may backfire on the victim & kids.

i got a chance to work with an NGO last year on one such case,,,,along with a few colleagues...so came to know about these things.

I don't think Anandi was trying to change the man with her bhashan.

It is about helping the woman. Her bhashan was to boost the morale of that abused woman who is resigned to her fate and feels she has to stick with guy.

She was indirectly telling the lady that what he is doing is very wrong and it shouldn't be tolerated.

She can't walk in and tell that woman to leave her husband because. She is only trying to give voice to that lady.Strengthen that woman's thought process.

Now it is not clear whether FIR has been lodged or not.

But even if there is no FIR now since the police has seen all this in action next time if that lady decides to be brave enough to lodge an FIR police will take her complaint seriously and when she files for divorce citing DV it becomes easier for her.

FIR should be lodged ideally then and there but many times even if the police come in they just warn him and let him go but they do keep an eye on potential trouble makers.

Getting the man locked up and beaten up is not going to change anything. The man will lie low for sometime then he comes back stronger and will beat her up even more.

What is needed is to help that woman gather her strength and walk away from him.I hope they show that.
