😆 Sumitra not a terrible person - she is just a very real and very flawed human being that's all.

Sumitra's fears and other biases (in relation to Anandi-Ganga comparisons) are not misplaced. Such things happen given a person's age and what she has seen in her life.But her insensitivity, wrong choice of words and shouting in a hospital itself are not justified.
She has forgotten those days when she would stand silently terrorised as DS kept insulting her and humiliating her family also, even at family functions? How bad she used to feel and how she used to sob in her room?
At least as a woman and from her own experiences of public humiliation, she should have tried to be more sensitive towards Ganga!
And has her own family been free from flaws? NO! She cringes at Ganga being a divorcee and not a virgin. But has forgottten what her own daughter was! Forgotten how she and Bhairon had to convince Shyam's family with folded hands each time in Sugna's case. Forgotten how hurt they felt when Ira barked at Anandi for being a child bride and divorcee. Forgotten what past her own son had!

Even in her insecurity and dislike, Sumitra crossed limits.

Frankly I do think Ganga's own feelings are not taken into account by Singhs. They keep struggling amongst themselves on how to tackle her and nobody thinks about what she might want or might be going through.

They have chosen strange ways of "helping her" in first place! Who keeps a woman in their house like family, puts her in their kitchen, dining room, puja ghar and festivals like any other member of the family? They made her part of all festival celebrations and she did ceremonies with other women of the house.

Why didn't Sumitra object then? And why didn't she think this would result in her getting attached with the family?

Why be angry at Ganga if Sumi has sensed she has feelings for Jagya?

They did not keep even little Gudiya, Phooli, Gulli, daayan woman etc. at their house. Then why only Ganga?

Even in the house, instead of keeping her "at a distance" they made her part of family.

Now Sumitra wants her at a distance, while others have concerns out of humanity for her but she is not exactly "family" for anyone to really care about how she might feel!

Ganga's case is like that of Waheeda Rehman's character in Khamoshi. She just gets told on what to do. Then she is thanked and praised for her "job". No one thinks the woman might have feelings, self respect and a heart of her own.

It is a relief that the woman is strong and has her son to keep her sane and make her feel valued. Or else she'd have become mad.

Singhs have to consult, discuss and conclude on how to deal with Ganga. Reach some consensus. Otherwise it won't work, rather it will harm Ganga also, while creating quarrels in their own family too.

DS was the best in this whole episode. She was happy on one hand to see ganga safe and on the other hand trying to understand sumi's concerns too without pouncing on her or demonizing her like the rest of the members. Love her for that!

I think what is needed is - clarity about Sumitra's feelings, fears, thoughts, ambitions.

We have seen her being loving n caring for Ganga n taking good care of her sick child too. So why this irrational hatred - knowing Ratan is safely behind bars without any hope of an early release ??

I hope the CV's will show us Sumi's demons n also show Dadisa chasing those demons away n bring back the sweet sane loving Sumi she has always been.
