Part V : Sach kaa Saamna

Sujata made all arrangement for Anandi and as soon as she came she was taken to the guest room to make comfortable. Anandi was too weak to fight with Shiv for all this.

Shiv had taken charge of the arrangements. Sujata made her drink some hot milk and gave her medicines.

Shiv came with a press bell and told her to ring if she needs help during night.

When he left the room Anandi was trying to arrange her long loose hair which were not combed and oiled properly for couple of days. Shiv's eyes were struck on her face, and that is when Anandi saw him,, he immediately looked elsewhere (old habit - : -) ).

Anandi – Shivraj ji main bata naee sakti mukhe kitna kharab lag raha hai aap sabko itna pareshan karke.

Shiv said: Phir to main chahoonga ke tumhe aur bhi kharab kage .. good night Anandi. He closed the door.

Anandi slept off immediately as was under impact of medication and was also exhausted.

Next Anandi did not see Shiv at all… He left early for his office and it seems we went out of station and came very late .at night. Though that day she spend completely in bed sleeping and resting.

The day next, she was feeling a little better but her infection was still there.

She changed her clothes and oiled here hair to make them manageable as she could not wash them now.

Ashwin came to her room and said –Good morning Andy aunty .. News paper chahiye?

Anandi smiled at him and took the newspaper.

Shiv appeared in the room. Anandi got little alert with his presence.

Shvic asked in soft tone: Anandi, kaisa feel kar rahee hoo.? Pahle se behter ?

Annandi just nodded her head.

Shiv: Agar Gussa nahee jayega to bukhar kaise jayega .. sir me bhi garmi or fever ki garmi .. and gave a naughty smile to her

The domestic help got Anandi's breakfast to the room .. and Anandi seeing so much food got a little worried..

Shiv : Main isiliye yaha aaya hoon. Mujhe pata chala ki tum kal khaana khyaa nahee theek se.. Antibiotics ke saath khana khana aroori tabhi medicnes phayda karti hain..

Anadi said – Main nahee kha sakti

Shiv – Dekho .. Jyada koshish ki to mujhe tum jaiso to theek karna aata hai aur me jabardasti bhi khila sakt ahoon.. Ashwin to bhi main aise he khilata hoon..

In between Shiv had called Dadisa and Informed her about Anandi and Dadisa was worried yet happy to know that Anandi was in safe hands.

4 days went by and Anandi was ok now.

It was a Saturday and Shiv was at home, sitting in the lawn reading newspaper.

Anandi came there to tell him that she wanted to go her home today.

Shiv : Baitho. (he noticed the lovely pastel shade she wore and how beautiful she was looking)

Anandi : Mai aaj ghar jaa rahee hoon …

Shiv : theek hai .. Driver tumhe chchod aayega. (without looking at her) .. he did not want Anandi to know how he much he did not want her to go ...

Anandi so much wanted to ask about Ashima ..

Anandi : Shivraj ji – Mujhe Ashima ji ke bare me Jankar bahut bura laga .. apne bhi mujhe kuchch nahee bataya .. who meri bhi dost thee … I am really sorry

Shiv: Haan ye kareeb 3 years pehle ki baat hai .. Ashima ki ek accident me death ho gyaee

Anandi really felt sad. Her eyes were filed with tears.

Anandi wanted to say a lot of things but she had to choose her words carefully.

Anandi : Aap mujhe ek phone karke bata to sakte the na.? Apne shadi per bhi mujhe nahee bulaya? Main manti hoon aaj se char saal pehle jo hua uske baad aapko laga hoga ki main shayad nahee aaoongi lekin yahi to wajah thee mere apko naa bolne ki .. Kyonki main hamesha se jaanti thee ki Aap aur ashima ji ek doosre ke liye bane hain.

Anandi saw a state of bewilderment on Shiv's face and there so many colors going and coming..she did not know what did she say wrong?

Shiv sat straight and asked anandi – Tumne shadi se isliye mana kiya kyonki tumko laga ki main aur Ashima ek doosre ko chahte hain? Lekin phir main dadisa se shadi ke liye haan kyon kehta?

Anadi: haan .. lekin uss samay ashima ji aapse pyar karti thee.. per aapko iska ehsaas nahee tha aur mujhe iss bat ka pata tha

Shiv : Anandi .. tumhe pata hai tun kya keh rahee ho.. Maine apni zindagi ke char saal sirf ye soch kar bitye hain ki anandi ke refual ki kya wajah thee aur main abhi bhi yahee sich rahaa hoon jab main tumhe dekhta hoon kyoki tumne abhi tak doosri shadi nahee kii..

Anandi – now it was her turn to get confused. Ye aap kaise bate kar rahee hain.. Ashima ji to hurt kar rehe hai aaapp

Shiv's face changed and became very straight and tough:

Anandi - Meri shadi Ashim se nahee hui. Ashima ko UK me he eek Indian ladke se pyar hua aur usne shadi ki. They were very happy as Ashima found her real love for the first time in life. Usi saal jab maine Jaitser chchoda uske baad. Usen to tumhe phone nhi kiya tha per shayad tumne baat nahee ki thee.

Anandi: To phir .. Ashwin ..?

Shiv: Ashwin Ashima to Nitin ka beta hai.. Unfortunately jab Ashwin 4 months ka tha unki poori family ki ek accident me death ho gayee aur sirf Ashwin he bacha .. kyoki who beay sitter ke paas thaa.. Maine bahut koshish karke Ashwin ko India le ayaa aur adopt kar liya. Kam se Kam maa ka nahee to main use pita kya pyar to de sakta hoon. Ye meri sabse achchi dost ke liye meri dosti ka wada hai.

Anandi was fighting herself to believe what she heard just now.

Thanks. Last part means the last set of Hindi lines which Shiv said? or the entire Part V?

Part VI : Monkey Business

Anandi left Shiv's house in a state of shock.

It was around 2 AM at night and Anandi was still awake. There was storm of memories and thoughts that were keeping her awake.

Anandi: (thinking) Shiv.. I had refused you from marrying because I was very sure that you and Ashima loved you very much and I did not want to do the same what Gauri had done with me. I did not love you at that time and I wanted to remain in life that I had chosen at that point.

But after you left jaitser and I started working on various projects and I started realizing what your presence meant for me. I missed you at every single occasion when I needed some support at my work. But still I was happy at my heart that I helped you and Ashima to unite or at least I did not hurt Ashima. And now today I understand that I did not understand you properly .. I looked at everything only superficially.

I wanted to go for higher studies and wanted to work on various projects related to my cause with larger NGO and organizations and I had designed a web around me where I did not allow anyone to come.

Anandi was crying silently ' I have destroyed your life Shiv..

How do I tell you.. since the say I met you after that road accident .. I have been trying to tell myself ..Anandi be happy .. see Shiv is happy..

Shiv was out of station for 3-4 days. Sujata asked Anandi to come home and stay with her and Ashwin. Ashwin liked Anandi very much.. they used to play lot of games and Anandi used to help him to learn through various games.

Sujata was in kitchen and Anandi was making Kheer for Ashwin..

Sujata : Why did you not marry again Anandi? .. I know about your past. So don't worry and don't be embarrassed ..

Anandi was at loss of words' Aunty .. It is not that I have not thought of it ' but I am really scared ' My experience with my first marriage is so bitter that I rather not get into any such situation where anyone can hurt me again ..

Sujata : But this is not a reason .. Anandi .. you are young, sensible, educated beautiful women ' you can give so much love and affection to someone ' somebody will be very lucky to have to as your life partner.. you know as a women of substance you can help not just one person but the entire family and you will be loved, desired and looked after .. it is a great feeling beta .. loneliness is no solution ' Everyone needs a companion..

Anandi ' kept cooking quietly ..

Sujata ' I know what are you thinking Anandi .

Anandi - ehhmm ' no nothing I was listening to you..

Sujata : You are thinking if I am so concerned about you then why I did not convince Shiv to marry .. why is he alone ? Do you think I have not tried .. Shiv never says no to marry .. he meets every girl but he never tells the truth about Ashwin ' he gives an impression that Shiv is his own son .. so some proposals get canceled due to that and then whoever comes out with an open mind ' Shiv and Ashwin plan to trouble the girls family so badly that they get an idea that Ashwin is an impossible child to manage and Shiv bothers about no one.. You know once they both went to visit the zoo' and there I had planned for a girl to come and meet both of them. ..

Both of these troubled the girl by making a monkey following her.. she went home screaming ..

Once Ashwin told one of the girls - Aunty you are not as beautiful as the Aunty who comes every Saturday stays with my papa when dadi is not home. They both take interview of every proposal..

Now I have stopped looking for girls.. but I feel sad at times as I know my Shiv is lonely and he keeps himself so engrossed in work' he was not like earlier.. he was a very fun loving and jovial person '

No I look after Ashwin as I feel he is our responsibility and we need to do everything within our control to give him a good future..

But I know there is someone whom shiv loves and wants in his life .. but he never tells me anything ' but now Shiv is also scared that if he marries a wrong person then it will be Ashwin who will suffer and that Shiv will never let happen.

Suddenly Anandi found herself smiling'

Shiv had called in the afternoon and spoke to Sujata and Ashwin but he did not talk o Anandi ' Anandi felt upset

Anandi :What does he think .. can't say hello also ? Akdoo and Khadoos pana nahee gaya abhi tak.

To her surprise Shiv had landed by early morning flight and was already at home and when she came out of her room in the living area ready to go .. he was playing with Ashwin ..

Shiv saw Anandi and smiled.. and said .. Thank you for babysitting my 2 babies and he laughed loudly '

Anandi fell in love with that innocent laugh.

Anandi smiled.. and said ' Thank you kee zaroorat nahee..

Shiv: Are you going today?

Anandi ' Yes. I will go home today ,, anyway you are back home

Shiv: Looks like you have taken your babysitting work too seriously ' is it that you really came here to babysit only.. or is it that you can't tolerate me and want to leave as soon as I am back .. I look forward to the weekend to see you at my home .. (Immediately Shiv bit his tongue) .. and he said I mean we all looks forward to have to at home Aanandi ..

Ashwin wanted to go to the water park and animal park on sunday .. we can plan a family outing tomorrow ..

Anandi: Why ? you want me also to be harrowed by monkey and cracked up loudly'. Shiv loved to see her laughing like that ..

Shiv was at total loss of words' he knew his Mom has spoken a lot over these days.. to Anandi..

Shiv: Well this is completely monkey's prerogative to decide, whom it wants to follow.. I am not good at instructing them ' and both of them had a huge laugh.. the house was filled with laughter.
