Anyway, g'nite.

🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sorry sorry sayali, why invasions, lets call them invitation. Invasions are exclusive rights of muslims 🤣🤣. Hunas and others never indulged in violence, no threat to hindus from them right?
The major in history has not answered a question on historiography? 😲
Let me ask you how strongly was Turk rule entrenched in India? Were Mughals more powerful or Turks! What is the difference in their rule. I think a major in history can answer this question just like that.

Oh no dear I am asking this to a major in history Sayani! Its good but any major knows that this idea of muslim rule being responsible belongs to certain strand in history writing, it is not something new scholars follow. If she knew this she wouldn't have dared the word muslim rule. no university trained student will do that. we and use a better word medieval. Her writing reminds me of british historiography and nationalist historiography. 😆

Hunas stayed for a limited period, and were largely affecting only the Northern frontiers. So their influences were never heavily felt. Turkish empire was entrenched within India and spread its wings. Orite, sweetie?

I think we were discussing child marriage ...seems it got stretched too far !!!
lets discuss the current situation instead of digging into history as none is fully equipped with history (with due respect to all and their opinions)..
mughals are gone...y discuss them ???
lets talk about the social evil that India is still facing ...
who did what is not important...to eradicate the social evil is important !!😊

@Avantika: Do you want a history lesson? Do you agree with Utilitarianism or Orientalism? Both classified the periods as Hindu, Muslim and British.

wow fight on history started again i thought its bound in only historical show forums..which i experienced in chandragupta maurya

well there my takes...
child marriage didn't came with islam invasion it existed in ancient india and even manu supported child marriage..he told girls should be married before puberty..and status of woman changed time to time and before turks came women in india went through many phases

but its also true that women's marital age decreased in medieval india..its not that only virgin un married girl were victims of invaders but they were responsibilities of their parents..so parents wanted to get married the girls early so that even if they got abused ..in-laws will decide her fate not the parents
and its the same logic why still now parents wants to get daughter married early if they feels they can't protect them from buri nazars

I am honestly sorry for this thread. The problem is actually quite deep. It all started by damning critique of indian culture given by James mill in the 19th century. He wrote something like Hindus are the most uncivilized people on this earth because of the way they treat their woman- sati, female infanticide, child marriage etc. To counter this a reform movement started within Hinduism which claimed that ancient indian culture was quite good but the problem started later. Why specificaly muslims got blamed for is very complicated. muslims and hinduas ahve shared almost 1000 years in the subcontinent and have actually evolved a common culture. In fact hindu muslim distiction is not very clear in medieval india. i have given some examples in one of the post. It was british who once again did the damage by distingusinhing between the two communities and following divide and rule policy.
Newer scholars have far better understanding of this issue, we think this blaming of muslims is purely illogical and unscientific and against the facts. When the tm said muslim invasion, I was sure this from someone who comes has listened to history from British times not new reasonable histories written in the university. its a fact that such histories are still alive today. may be with time they will go.
When somebody said muslim invasions made hindus defensive, i tried to ask how and why. Why would child marriage stop invasions or protect hinduism. And what sort of threat were muslims? There are perceptions of forced conversions, which are not entirely true. Hindus -muslims on the contrary evolved a common culture. Then why do people say I don't see a difference between delhi and Lahore. You should after all Lahore is muslim and Delhi in India Hindu dominated.

Both of them are critiqued 😆😆 but I think you are still living with them and quoting them. Do you know how old these schools are. have you heard of modern scholars.
