i dont care about other things but this was certainly not gauri's fault or selfishness. it was very logical and just request she made.
in order to drive home the point CVs want, they shud use the right reasons.

Gauri was not wrong in demanding sleep. But the way she handled it was definitely not the best way. She could have done a number of things:
1. Intervened and posponed the party then and there when Jagat was planning it
2. Postponed the party before it started
3. There are hundreds of excuses one can make to wind up guests. She could have made an excuse for ill health. She need not show her bossy attitude and boast about her professional achievement when they were already mocking Jagat.
4. Asked Jagat to wind up the guests himself, if he did not want her to declare the operation plans. It would have been more appropriate since it was Jagat's party.
5. Requested the guests to leave early once the party had gone on for some time. Gauri declared it when it looked like the party had just started, they had just began to eat. There is a difference between telling your guests that we have to wind up early when they just come in and telling it when the eating is over, the party has gone on for some time and the guests are just yapping.

It felt like she declared it like that precisely because she wanted to boast about herself and give herself an ego boost.

I think we have to be patient and wait for the wright time for CV's to open "Pandora's box."

In my humble opinion, trust is very important in marriage. Jagat DOES trust madam, but she DOES NOT trust him and she still hides some things from him, to keep him to herself.

Just a few: agreement she has with Sumitra, she lied to him that she went to see her relative, but she went to Haveli when Bade Papa told her it was Bhairon who supported her, and not Papa. And that was the biggest secret she has learned from papa, but J still does not know it.

And why not? Her Ma told her not to tell him, because he will think that his father is so good and he might go back to his family. She tries to be nice to him, so Sumitra does not win!

What will happen when J hears all those things?
THAT could be a big rift!

it is definitely true what u all are saying.
and i AGREE gauri was not handleing it poperly. infact it would have been better if jagiya had handlled the situatin.
dd gauri throw a party without informing jagiya?
i think i missed tha episode that changes everything.
i dont think she was ever wrong in becoming MS before jaggi, i dont think it is wrong for jaggi to assist him ... BUT IT WAS WRONG FOR GAURI TO THROW PARTY WHEN HUSBAND HAS NO JOB AND S SO PAINED ABOUT IT.
sorry guys if she did , she asked for it.

Yes she did. That day Jagya had come home depressed and wanted Gauri's support. But Gauri was all dressed up and ready to go outside. She then informed him that she is going out with her friends who have demanded a party. The party was at a restaurant (more expensive than Jagat's party) and Jagat was not included/invited. There is nothing wrong is going out alone with your friends-------but the lack of communication with your husband is.

But she got that phone call in the party-- someone must have told her to report to duty early in the morning right in the middle of the party.

earth1978,
I think you are basing your arguments on feminist logic or morality/ethics in terms of something being right or wrong.
The fact remains that even if there is nothing wrong in assisting his wife, he simply doesnt like it.
Even if it were the most right thing on earth, he does not like it. It is eating him up alive.
So, instead of applying ethical logic within marital relationships, we have to see if we are sensitive to our spouse's likes and dislikes...
I may feel adoption is absolutely wonderful ... bring a nice child into the home from an orphanage. It is so very very right.
My husband may say "we have a biological child or no child at all." He doesnt want adoption as an option.
Now in this situation, i cant argue about the rightness of the adoption issue ... if he doesnt like it.
So either I cave in to his request as a compromise, or I make up my mind that adoption to me is more important than living wih my husband.
And under no circumstances, knowing his dislike for adoption should I go and unilaterally adopt a child, bring it home and then put burdens of expectation on him that he should play daddy to the child...
