Shiv is crossing boundaries with Anandi and not even noticing them:

1. He called Anandi by her name without "ji"
2. He calls her late in the night to chat and help settle his mind before sleeping.
3. He's offering to always stand by her side - he caught himself there, but we all know what he meant😆
4. He tries to guide/advice her from the media people when that reporter starts ranting
5. He places his arm on her waist and takes her away from the reporters when it gets personal though he himself is reeling somewhat from her revelation.

Edited:
- Above is not a criticism of Shiv... its signs that he's falling for Anandi but, not aware of it...these are not things that are part of a purely "professional" rishta. She's becoming his friend - someone he admires and cares for a lot.

The first three points are a definite indication of Shiv crossing boundaries that is changing from professional relation to friendship.
About the last two points he would have done for any body not just Anandi.
About placing an arm around a person it was a just kind gesture.

🤣 🤣

- I don't think he would have tried to guide her interaction with the media when he first arrived. He would have intervened only if things got out of hand, but he would not have pre-cautioned. Instead he would have just observed the situation. As for extricating her from the situation - Yes. He would have done that for anyone, but without touching her waist in a protective manor. A major portion of human communication is body language and Shiv's body language towards Anandi and her towards him is changing.

I think # 4 and # 5 were just protective gestures...not necessarily subconscious romantic gestures. 😆 She was obviously overwhelmed in that media frenzy and crying and emotional. If he had said "lets go" she wouldnt have listened/heard him -- so he had to physically guide her. BTW, he did not put his arm around her waist. He put his arm around her arm that was hanging at her side ... his arm touched her elbow and he guided her by turning her from the elbow.
I would have done the same for someone despite no romantic/personal interest in them. It's sort of human I guess.
Once a man I was working with got news in the office that his 18 year old daughter had been in a car accident and he started sobbing, so I too put my arm around him on his shoulder and started rubbing his back. I had no romantic interest in him but he was extremely distraught at the time.

Tinoo - the Shivraj Shekkar that first arrived in Jaitsar would not have cautioned Sarpanch Anandi about the rapid reporter. He would have either handled the situation himself or he would have observed. Not adviced.

As for body language... it looked like near her waist not shoulders. You or I may do that especially as we are women and we are slightly videsi... but, men are cautious about such gestures especially in gaon types settings. Not saying it was as odd as Ashi hugging Shiv in front of his staff, but it more personal then professional. He could have just used his hand for blocking not protecting - that would have been professional.

Hi anjana you are right 😆 from a male perspective, they have to be careful. I take back my statement.
Infact, even in my office which is fairly more modern than others, my boss once saw his secretary of 20 years come into work wearing a very gorgeous eyecatching silk sari.
He could have asked her himself what the occassion was -- to know if he had forgotten some big event or anniversary in her life. given the fact that they have been working together for 20 years, and had that sort of rapport. But he asked me to ask her. I didnt see the big deal in him asking her but he felt that it would not be professional of him to show that he was observing her saris etc. Both were fairly "modern" people (boss and secretary), so there was no question of her misunderstanding him, but he just didnt want to go there. 😆😆

I agree and disagree. Am kinda confused as well..
Shiv is so tall and Anandi is so petite..
I am petite. And I have been touched in that manner in India and even here (jn US) by some (not many 😊 ), I guess it comes naturally to people who are open/logical enough to shoo assumptions away. I did not mind but yes I did register the touch and had never let it affect me.

Shiv is educated/UK-educated and may be he gets carried away in that mind set.
And why bother when Anandi easily touches Shiv's collar to remove the mango remnants, does the head-massage with such gusto 😆
