So I dont watch Bailka Vadhu too much, but my grandmother really likes it. So when I am spending time with her, we often talk about the show and I watch it. So if I am wrong or hurt anyone, sorry.

I think it is very possible that Shiv would have not fallen in love with the Anandi 5 years ago. We look for partners that are equal in social standing, education, etc.

In fact I dont even blame Jagya for falling in love with Gauri. Where I have a problem with Jagya is that he was completely aware of the society Anandai was brought up in and that education was not encouraged nor was being self-reliant as a girl. But this girl was his good friend, and helped him tirelessly as a child and teenager. The least he owed her was support, friendship and respect - NONE of which he gave her. He should have said, I dont love you that way, but will help you become something, but he did not!

My problem with Gauri is that, she too grew up in that society and is a women, should have understood how Anandi must have felt. Should have explained she loved Jagya, did not mean to steal him. She too was married as a child bride-should have tried to embraced their differences. She should have understood that Anandi and he could never be friends, but atleast mutually respect and stay out of each others way. Instead she is out to make Anandi and Everyone is Jagyas family miserable. I understand jealousy, but she is vicious.

Now to Shiv, he is not from that village, he is abroad educated, but still understands circumstances of Anandi better than Jagya. May be he would not have fallen in love with Anandi the way she was 5 yrs ago, but would have still tried to help her and been understanding. Thats where they differ. That is why Shiv is agood person and Jagya is not. Shiv puts other first, and jagya is selfish!

I think even five years ago as Anadi became more like she is today, Shiv would have been there along the way unlike Jagya, and eventually perhaps fallen in love with her.

Of course thats Shiv today, its a soap he could be evil tomorrow :)

Tinoo, love the way you write!

Perfectly valid argument. In my opinion there cannot be a one hundred percent case study suitable for every situation..

When Jagya and Anandi were a couple, true she was too rural for him. His idea of a partner started to vary. Thats when he started falling for Gauri- who fit in his picture perfect world. Was it wrong? Well, he did have a choice of opinion.. but then ethically I guess not! If Anandi was too rural for him, Jagya was too urban for her...

This change of personality for Anandi was a result of her interests.. that was something that she always wanted to be.. that fighter spirit, exceptionally intelligent, the way she had her own belief system and always put her point out there.. no matter she was ridiculed/ scrutinized..That was her- always.

On Jagya's part, it was essential to for him to have effectively channelized these energies in Anandi. All she needed was a little encouragement and support from him. All she got was betrayal.

All said and done about Jagya's human rights 😆 , he should have done something for Anandi- at least for humanities sake- she saved his life, not once, a zillion times, let alone being an adarsh "husband" to her!

Despite these betrayal's and putting down, what amazes me the most, about Anandi is that, she's still a fighter. To have a fighter spirit and never say die attitudes are much, much over and above, being able to scream and shout for your rights - I think...What she made out of herself, is an outcome of her own interests, a formation of her own ideas that has taken shape. Now Shiv loves this persona, the idea of being Anandi.. I dont think its got anything to do with Jagya like checklists..

🤣🤣🤣 Oh Bravo sonali!! touche!! this one sentence sums up the answer to the amorphous question in my mind.
Yes, why should I view it only from jagya's perspective? (which is what i was doing) ... anandi has the right to have a perspective too... and you are absolutely right, Jagya was too urban for her ...
shiv has the right amount of urban-rural mix -- and is a perfect match for anandi who also has a somewhat urban-rural mix.
What was wrong with my POV is that I was holding Jagya's view as the gold standard, and giving no importance to anandi's view of what a husband should be.
Thanks!!

This part is just beautiful...
Yes, I can see that very much ... shiv is falling in love with the essence of anandi ... her inner-being/her soul... it is not Jagya like checklists. ❤️

hey sonali..long time no meet..i agree wid ur post..i liked savia's post too..i still dnt blame jagya for falling for gauri or any other female for tht matter..bt i do defintely mind his behaviour wid anandi over tht and his betrayal..he did not even respect his childhood friend who had stood up for him innumerable times..if u have to compare, look at when teepri had walked in..even at the end of the whole saga, bhairon did not disrespect her..inspite of all the horrible things she had done..and more recently, look at shiv and ashi, he knows she loves him, he dsnt..bt he does not rub it in her face..its not necessary tht the person u love, loves u back,no matter which relationship u are in, bt the least u can do is respect those emotions..

Hey dear 🤗 how have you been?? How is your Daktari going on?? 😃 I demand time now!!! Get on to Facebook at least?

I love what you said! "its not necessary tht the person u love, loves u back,no matter which relationship u are in, bt the least u can do is respect those emotions."

Unfortunately, there are jerks everywhere... who consider it a woman's weakness if she loves the man selflessly. Because, primarily, they themselves are materialistic na... anything over and above material benefits seems stupid to them! There'd be a day when they'll get old, rot, go through mid life crisis..😆 and when they loose their shimmer.. thats when all materialism will go bonkers!! But it will be too late then!

ya ya..i have a little time now..bt am not coming on facebook..seriously, i really cant deal wid so many people there...am wierd tht way..IF hi theek hai mere liye..2nd year residency going on now..am halfway thru to become a psychiatrist..bt bahut kaam karvate hain yaar.. mera ek saal mein 12 kilo kam ho gaya hai..seriously..
anyways, coming back to our discussion..women tend to love selflessly coz thts ingrained in them..and there are rare men who appreciate it..rest take advantage only..so the only thing we can do is keep our eyes open for the truth..which is an issue i had wid anandi..Lord knows which dreamwolrd she lived in, in those days..tht jerk wud insult her day in and out and she wud sit on the terrace and weep buckets of tears and wait for him..
