The human personality has the following aspects and each of these needs to be developed in its own right. Proficiency in one field (academic development) does not automatically ensure development in all other aspects. Each of these have to be developed separately.
These include
1. academic development
2. artistic development
3. intellectual development
4. ethical development
5. religious/spiritual development (not in terms of God necessarily but just in terms of how one relates to the broader universe - even if one is agnostic or an atheist).
6. physical development
Education (in terms of academic development) is only one facet and excellence in academic development only shows the ability to see a problem, reason through it, and come to a solution. It may be a signal of other traits that a person possesses in terms of self-discipline or motivation.
However, it is quite possible for a person to be academically well developed without having a sense of ethics -- which is why we see cases of doctors who do kidney harvesting in poor patients without their knowledge for instance, and then sell these kidneys to rich donors in foreign countries who are awaiting kidney transplants. Meanwhile, the poor patients who went in for some other operation like appendix or something, find themselves missing a kidney after a few years.
