As the saying goes 'keep your friends close and your enemies closer' I am very sure that DS has given Jagiya and Gauri the permission to stay in the house because she has some plan in store for them. As far as i know most of the time DS thinks ahead before doing something.
It could very well be that she wants to show Gauri what it actually means to be the DIL of the house, can you imagine, gauri having to stop studying and tend to household needs. DS may very well ask her to start wearing the veil, becasuse right now she is the only one in the house to not do so. She will make Gauri do all the things that Anandi had to do in her place. And then what happens, Gauri will go and complain to Jagiya, but even now Jagiya holds his DS close to his heart, so from then the comparisions will begin the statements 'if anandi was able to do it, then so again you' 'anandi didnt complain about this' 'anandi wore the veil, even when she went to school' This will eventually cause a lot of problems and issues between the newly married couple, i mean no woman would want to be compared to another woman.
Even people in the house will make comparisons, with the way she talks, walks cooks and even the number of hours she sleep. Maybe DS is counting on this to cause a rift.
Or there is the other option that the heart-attack has fried her bheja and she is nothing using her judgement properly. But i like the first option more.
