She wants her teenage son to stay in jail for the night 😲.. has she gone crazy.. doesn't she have any sense what kind of things go on in jails.. seems like she is many times taking out Anandi's frustration on poor Jagya. Can't she think of a better punishment? She keeps quiet when she shud speak up and overreacts at all the wrong places. Dadisa's character stands out so powerful in front of Sumitra's..

I disagree. Sumitra did the right thing. Jagya needs to be taught that he has to face the consequence for his decisions. So far, Anandi was always there to take the blame for his mistakes. But now that she's gone, Jagya is unprotected. I was very surprised that Maasa didn't oppose Sumitra...she didn't even say anything...maybe she will tomorrow..let's see.

i dont agree..high time jagya realises his mistakes..how many times he has done wrong things and gotten off scotfree jst becoz he is the 'heir' of the family..and tht is y he cant tolerate being admonished now..bt he has to learn..and nothing will happen to him in jail coz even the inspector knows who he is and y he is being put in jail for the nite..so its ok..

i dont think basant and maasa will allow him to remain in jail. but anyways i too feel sumitra was being too strict. jagya is a child afterall and his best friend has been seperated from him despite his best efforts and he knows it was wrong and wasnt able to do anything abt it cuz he has to respect elders(!). he getting into bad company is not completely his fault but the fault of his family too who are too busy with their lives and ignore him. if maasa's spoiling is bad so is too much strictness. there is a thin line between strictness and firmness and sumitra needs to be firm rather than strict. jagya is at a vulnerable age and being too strict might end up he becoming rebellious rather than disciplined and might push him towards vices. i feel its best that jagya is taken home and punished rather than being left in jail overnight.

I dont agree, Sumitra did the right thing, even Bhairon would have don the same.... if Jagya was out from the jail massa would have easily taken him away from Sumitra's anger and let him free....he will not learn anything from it...but now he will suffer his punishment and regret for going agianst Anandi atleast.

yes, i agree with you abt sumitra over-reacting. Locking up jagya in prison is the not the punishment that has to be given him. Thats being too strict with him. Actually it is shown in the serial too that the police had left those boys few times, but when they did not improve they locked them up.
Jagya has understood that he has done a big mistake and if he does it again he can be in a big trouble. He can be put in jail. He can be beaten up by the police. Even though he has done the mistake, he is still a kid. And he is completely terrified now. We had seen how he was shivering there. This time, he requires a assurence that his family is with him(but the family shld make clear that, they still believe that he has done a mistake). Jagya went out with sunder cos he felt his family is not with him. No one is his friend, he doesn't have anyone. At this time, if sumitra just leaves him there, that feeling is more imposed on him.
Moreover, the thought that only if he faces the legal punishment, he will understand his mistake is wrong. Sumitra cld have taken him to the house and punished him there. Atleast he is in his house. Now, more than jagya realising that he has done a mistake, he is going to think that though his family cld save him, they didn't. The guilt feeling of having done the mistake is going to take a back seat.
Parents can punish kids in the confinement of their house. however they shld not make a drama of it in front of the whole world. It can psychologically affect the kid a lot. Sumitra shld have taken jagya to the house and then punished him. However if he still doesn't learn, and this happens for the second time, she cld have made him stay in jail. I agree with gullicricket, that sumitra is just taking out her frustration that, anandi had to face the punishment for her mistake but her son is not having to, in a too strict manner and in this process forgetting what effect it wld have on her son.

I dnt agree. Jagya deserves punishment. Already he has been ppunished severely bby his father at home for bunking his classes. BUt he didnt improve bcos his dadisa supported him but it is high time that he knows that just being dadisa's garndson doesnt mean he his crime is lesser than other boys. at home, others are there to protect him frm wrath of his mother thats y he never understands the gravity of mistakes he commits. Only Anandi was thrown out of teh house for a crime committed by jagya as well. So Sumita did the right thing

Jagya does need to be taught a lesson...but this one is just too strict for a teenager....we all know that Jagya is a good kid at heart (not like Sundar)..he needs proper guidance. If Sumitra and others in the house scold him, punish him and make him understand that what he did was wrong and why was that wrong then Jagya would be able to judge a person and situation and would not do such a thing. This type of harsh punishment may have negative effect on him. Before also he had seen that none of the elders listened to Anandi's pleas and now they are doing the same to him. Don't you think this may have a very bad effect on Jagya and he may start thinking that his parents doesn't love him at all, result of which could be Jagya wandering away from home etc, etc, etc...

In a way Sumitra and Bhairon are also responsible for the present condition of Jagya. Where were they when Jagya was bunking classes for movies and gambling? Where were they when Jagya was reading adult magazine, when he was stealing money from home? Anandi being a child could figure out all these but why couldn't they? This shows their negligence and failure to look after their own kid and now Sumitra is punishing Jagya for an act in which she is also partly responsible.

Punishing a teenager goes wrong only where he doesnt realise his mistake.... but Jagya realises his mistake and is regretting for going against Anandi's words...he now will be thining that he deserves the punishment which is fine to me.

he def needs to be punished but walking out and going home and leaving ur kid back in jail is like a big no-no for me.. Its his first mistake and he is not a spoilt child... Anandi fell sick when she was locked in that kaalkothri at home.. jagya is a kid too. Anandi getting punished for jagya's mistakes was dadisa's fault not jagya's.. Sumitra needs therapy 😊.
