What is shown in the serial is sick......but it is also reality.........such things are still happening in the rural areas of not only Rajasthan but also in many other parts of India.......but i doubt showing such a serial on TV will help in reducing such practices.......cause in the rural areas where such practices are mainly done i dont thing people watch much TV.

The things that are shown on this show are not some fiction or things that the creatives came up with. The things that you are saying are SICK, are the truth. If it feels so sick for you to just watch then think how sick it must feel to the ladies that have to go through these stupid "believes." These things that has been shown on the show are the truth.I don't know how else we all can put this in front of all the people that make the ladies go through these nonsense "believes." And if you really think this should not be allowed to be shown on a national television then go to some parts of india and see it yourself, how much cruel one can be just because thats what they believe, just because that's what they THINK is right. These things do happen in real life. Its the truth... its the FACTS. Take it as it is. Just because you think its sick does not mean its not true or it can not happen or it has not happen.

I know its you opinion but its time to open your eyes and view the world as it is.
No offense but i was saying my opinion too.

BV is a very realistic show. In the modern cities, widows do get remarried but in Rajasthan it is very rare.

ok you want I was born and raised in US. far away from traditional stuff but even I know that such things happened in past and still exit to some extend.... people/families who carry their traditions and culture for many many generations still exist. I never thought I would ever come across something like this but I have seen a mini version of this happening with my dearest friend living in the US. cant wear good clothes, cant eat good food, does not attend functions and much much much more.... and she is VERY YOUNG.... and I just have to respect her family and support her.......... before you post such topics please be thoughtful of others feelings.... and on top of it all, honey no one is forcing you to watch the show flip the channel its just that easy....

how can you guys call this a reality? If you are so educated then you sould be able to go to those villages where this happens today and teach them that live today's life. I am not saying that forget your sanskar, all I am saying is that treating a widow woman and that to a child is a harsh thing to do. and dont forget all of you out there that today even the village girls study and work outside the house. This house is not shown as being in village, it is shown reach family.
also, if Masa was widow and raised her kids staying in that havali then why that poor child has to go outside the house?
when her own son asked the question how come Masa didn't have answers?
yes, I rather watch some romantic or someone who came from death type of serials then something like this where people who will learn fromt his and will go backword instead going forward in life.
child vivah should be banned and should be against the law.

We are calling it a reality because it IS a reality.
We are not saying that we support this child marriage. We don't support it AT ALL!
And yes you are right about saying that child marriage should not be allowed by any law, and guess what?... it is not allowed anywhere. but everyone in the villages that support child marriage still force their child to marry in a young age and there is nothing a child can do about it. they are forced. and even though it is illegal they do it. And even if one person tries to stop them and tell them it is illegal they do not listen. if you have watched all the episodes of Balika Vadhu of july and august then you will know what i mean. Remember when the teacher ji tried to stop the wedding of Anandi... what the villagers did to her? do you remember?
well, anyways...
We are just saying that this show can not be called sick just because it shows some realities and is trying to inform people in and out of the village about all the cruel rules that are STILL followed in this century.
It is not about what one believes... it is about what is right and what is wrong.
And it is not about cultures... it is about life and reality.
And everyone knows that this [child marriage] CAN be stopped and i don't see why there should be a problem about showing the reality in national television. We the people of the world talk about making this world a better place to live and moving it ahead and making our future better but i think that if we ignore these BIG cruel things that happen in the SMALL villages around the world then we will never move ahead. And that is the truth!
