ha Marda who is currently seen as Gehna in Balika Vadhu might soon get married as her parents have already started looking out for a perfect Mr Right for her.

She is all right with her parents wanting her to settle down in a year's time as she says, "My mom is already looking for a guy and hopefully in a year's time I should be settled. I am happy with my parents' decision and as I believe in arranged marriage it's cool. It's been three months since my parents have been searching for the perfect guy! The only condition I have is I want him to be from Mumbai." But didn't she ever fall in love with someone? "I am not a very good judge of people and often get into trouble that is why my parents had warned me from day one that I would have to marry a boy of their choice. They did let me take up acting as my career but this is something they wanted to do and it's fine with me."

So will she pursue her career after marriage? "I want a simple life where I would spend time with my family, take care of my kids and go out swimming. But, it does not mean I would give up on acting completely. I would like to do a few shows here and there but I want to concentrate more on jewellery designing."

Neha was doing a course in jewellery designing before she took up acting but now she wants to get back to it. "I have already started working on it and I will soon be having an exhibition at the Taj. I have made 25 diamond sets and am going to be introducing them."

Currently the actress is making the best of her life as she gets to travel a lot besides shooting for the popular Balika Vadhu. "I have been travelling a lot, especially abroad for my dance performances. So I get to shop a lot. I am like shooting for 10-15 days a month and the rest, I am travelling," she smiles.

Well, we hope she finds her Mr Right soon!

The acting bug bit me...

The acting bug has never bitten me, acting happened coincidently. I think it was Boogie-Woogie that got me noticed and only after it I was offered a serial
Life as an actor...

Beautiful, others might say that it becomes a routine but for me I just love my work.I work on my terms and conditions and I am happy to be an integral part of this show.In fact when I go to my home town ,Kolkata ,the initial days I enjoy myself by relaxing and spending my time with my family. But after 4-5 days, I start missing Mumbai, its absolutely true that a person who stays in Mumbai gets addicted to this wonderful city of dreams."
Indecent proposals that have come my way....

This is very subjective topic that differs from person to person.I never came to Mumbai to make a big and I am not that ambitious ,so there is no way that I had to face such people or proposals.I never will be or I never was interested in doing B-grade Bollywood movie or Bhojpuri movie. Its not bad as many actors in the industry have done but it dont fit my bill.
Dare to bare...

I think till time I am comfortable ,looking good and decent ,I dont mind wearing western clothes .I am not that kind of girl who will wear a bikini,I am more into casual western clothes."
What are your future plans..

My life until now was unplanned but it has turned out to be really nice and I cant plan things as everything is written already by the destiny.

Jagdish is head over heels in love with Gauri. He's started doing crazy things for her in Balika Vadhu. But Gauri is yet to confess her love for him.

A source says, "Gauri has feelings for Jagya, but after she met her uncle she has become serious about her career. Therefore she will choose to keep some distance from Jagdish. Jagya on the other hand is eagerly waiting for her confession. He will soon take her to an isolated place and will expect Gauri to express her true feelings and will tell her so. Gauri decides to use this opportunity to tease Jagdish and refuses to admit her love. Jagdish will make her say it but Gauri still says 'no' to him.

"After some point of time Jagdish gets serious and warns her that if didn't confess her love then he will commit suicide. He threatens to jump off a cliff. Gauri sticks to her stand and will take everything lightly. Jagya too knows this but accidentally he loses his balance and ends up getting hurt. Gauri rushes to catch him and fails to save him from falling down."

Shashank Vyas who plays Jagya says, "It is kind of a prank that Jagdish will play on Gauri but unfortunately it will backfire."

Shashank is a wonderful co-star but we are not in love : Pratyusha Banerjee

Pratyusha Banerjee

You have heard of actresses being selected through auditions. But here is someone who was selected through a nationwide SMS poll. We are talking about Pratyusha Banerjee, the Jamshedpur girl who stepped into the shoes of the young Anandi in Balika Vadhu. Luckily, in a matter of few months she could embrace the character and the viewers too accepted her whole-heartedly. It has been more than six months since she entered the show. TellyChakkar speaks to her to find out about her experience.

You are from Jamshedpur. How is your experience in Mumbai?
It is a big change for me. Jamshedpur and Mumbai are poles apart. But Mumbai has given me a new identity that of an actress, which I am living with everyday. I am happy I have got this opportunity and am giving it my best shot.

You seem to be enjoying your celebrityhood…
Certainly! I always wanted to become an actress ever since I started dreaming about my life. When you are a celebrity you are living a certain life and I am very fond of that – the glamour, the fame…everything. I am not the sort of person who will crib even after getting everything.

So how has becoming a celebrity changed you?
(Smiles) I don't think I have changed. As an actor, yes, I have matured quite a bit. On the first day of my shooting, I gave 23 retakes for a scene. Can you beat this? It was only after my director Pradeep Yadav pepped me up did I deliver. It was not at all easy for me. Most people think I have replaced Avika Gor, which is not the case. The show took a leap and I was the new Anandi of Balika Vadhu. But I concentrated on my acting and it has helped me progress.

The current track shows Jagdish moving away from Anandi's life and find new love. Your reaction…
I think we should all keep in mind that this is a daily soap and such tracks are unavoidable. But I am sure that Jagdish has to come back to his wife Anandi one day or the other! (laughs).

Don't you feel uncomfortable playing a married woman while you are just 18?
Well…I have never really thought of it from that perspective. You also have to keep in mind I am the youngest bahu on the small screen! I am sure if you ask others, they will also be fine with this. I am a part of a show which created history on Indian television and many actresses would love to be in my shoes. So I don't think I feel uncomfortable.

Do you think when you are spending and working for 15-16 hours in a day with your co-stars, there are chances to find a good friend who can be a life partner as well?
Are you talking about Shashank Vyas (Jagya)? No way! We are very good friends…in fact, the best of friends. He is a wonderful actor and a terrific co-star but we are not in love. We are extremely fond of each other, though I never liked him the first time we met.

I would love to have someone in my life, someone who will pamper me and fulfill all my wishes. And Shashank is not that type for sure! And talking about chances, love can happen anytime.

But you two have a rocking on screen chemistry…
It was not like this in the beginning. On the very first day, I was in a room with my hair dresser where Shashank was also rehearsing his lines. He was talking with water in his mouth. Since I did not know that, I was a bit surprised. He was also making weird faces and trying to emote. Finally I asked my hair dresser about him. She told me that he had come for the male lead's audition. I must admit that I was not very happy then. I told myself – I don't want to see myself in the same frame with him. But later on when we came to know each other, we became friends. We went out for dinner and coffee before the shooting to ensure that our on screen chemistry was good.

Girls of your age have a crush on film stars. What about you? Anyone from the television industry?
(Smiles) I used to have a crush on Karan Wahi. I have watched him in Remix and also in Dill Mill Gayye. I guess all the girls have a crush on him. And though you did not ask me, I must tell you that I have a huge crush on Ranbir Kapoor!

Do you believe that two actresses cannot be friends?
Completely untrue. Two actresses can be great friends. For example, Neha Marda and I are very good friends. We hang out together during our day-offs. Our wave lengths also match.

Tell us something that people do not know about Pratyusha.
I am a totally romantic girl. I believe in fantasy and my dream man. People can't make that out when they see me. I often dream of a dream date with my dream man who will take me to a different world.

What do you want to achieve in Mumbai?
Apart from being a good actress I want to buy a 3 BHK flat and a Honda Accord car! I gave my first pay cheque to my mother. She is taking care of my savings. I hope to someday achieve that.

Anandi to reach Jagya's college, spots him with Gauri

Pratyusha Banerjee and Shashank Vyas

It is said that you cannot run away from your past, no matter how much you try to escape it and Jagdish (Shashank Vyas) will soon experience this in Balika Vadhu as he will face his wife Anandi (Pratyusha Banerjee) and Gauri (Anjum Farooki) together.

A source says, "Anandi will reach at Jagdish's college to pay a surprise visit to him on his birthday. Anandi thinks Jagya will be happy to see her. But it would be a difficult situation for Jagdish once he comes face to face with Anandi. She in turn will spot him with Gauri and will feel odd about Jagdish's attitude. Jagdish manages to cover up the situation by introducing them to each other as his friends; both of them will interact with each other nicely.

"Jagdish then expresses his displeasure over Anandi calling him Jagdish instead of Jagat in front of his friends. Anandi and Gauri's conversation goes smoothly without either of them getting to know about Jagdish's secret. However, his friends will play spoilsport as they unknowingly inform Anandi about Jagdish and Gauri's relationship. It will be a huge blow for her. We are yet to decide whether Anandi will bear this pain and trust Jagya's friends or not."

Shashank says, "Yes, Jagdish is going to celebrate his birthday and Anandi suddenly arrives in his college. He will be able to hide the truth from Anandi and Gauri for some time, but not for long."

"I have applied for the course and I'm awaiting a reply from them," she tells us. "I want to do other things in life. I don't know if I would be a part of the acting world 15 years down the line, but I want to follow my dreams and pursue something where I can make a career.

I would also like to pursue fashion designing or may be launch my own gift shopping portal," says Neha. Before you start speculating: no, Neha is not going to quit her show, but will balance it out. Acting will remain her priority... for now atleast.
