Here comes the oomph factor. Gone are the days when the young women of India were skeptical about wearing a pair of denims and slipping into a skirt. It is the time when even the traditional wear is taking a 'bad route' to make things work. Skirts for Indian women may be a new commodity but now that it has become a part of the fashion houses, not a single stone is being left unturned to wear it. Skirts have recently become the Indian TV's bad girls' uniform. All the women who play some of the bad yet crucial characters in the prime time television serials in India either wear a loud make up or are dressed in the most outspoken manner. Skirts have become the new headline of the Indian television industry with more and more actors donning it.

Skirts are becoming a part of party life in India. Even until few years ago, not many women would have preferred to wear a skirt but that has not changed. Switch on the television after 7pm and there are heaps of prime time serials that showcase the 'wicked' girls who are rebels in the family and prefer only to wear their attitude of the sleeves. Also, wearing skirt is no big deal when it comes to the Indian Bollywood film industry. Many starts from Anushka Sharma to Kareena Kapoor can be seen wearing some of the gorgeous skirts for film premieres, music launches and promotional events.

Last weekend, I went shopping for the Diwali festival. I know Diwali is the time for the traditional wear as family gatherings are big time but being the part of the young generation, I chose to go with a mini skirt. Skirts are also trendier at all college and friendly events. One can customize a skirt depending upon the trends of the fashion industry here in India. Some of the leading fashion designers and their collection have superb collection of skirts made only for memorable events and occasions.

Coming back to the Indian television scene, all the bold and beautiful women don a skirt and this is irrespective of where they are and what they do. Veena Malik is one such celebrity who was part of last year Big Boss show on the Indian TV. She was in the news all the time and her dresses which were mostly skirts created a huge public interest.

Skirts are here to stay and a way to stand up for your own rights.

No honeymoon for Jhanvi Chheda!

No honeymoon for Jhanvi Chheda!

Living up to the work is worship motto, Sugna postpones honeymoon for Balika Vadhu.

Jhanvi Chheda who tied the knot just a month back with her beloved beau, unfortunately, has not had time to plan a honeymoon.

A source suggests, " Jhanvi Chheda got married on the 22nd of November and after spending a few days with her family and her in-laws, she and her husband had to get back to work. Jhanvi's role in Balika Vadhu demanded that she return to shoot."

"Sugna's track is currently in play and Jhanvi Chheda's husband too had some important projects to complete. Thus, the couple could not head for their planned honeymoon", the source signs off.

We contacted Jhanvi Chheda who asserts, "Yes, that's true. We couldn't plan our honeymoon due to our work commitments. But we hope on going for it this year."

Isn't that a bitter-sweet symphony for an artist!
