A tribute to the Bravehearts

Star Plus will soon present Unn Hazaroon Ke Naam,a short telefilm which is based on last years 26/11 Mumbai attack. This short film will have heart-wrenching stories of ordinary people who were involved in the rousing tragedy that struck Mumbai on 26/11.

We spoke to Vikrant Messey who plays an important role in the film

"I am fortunate enough to be the part of this short film which depicts the spirit of Mumbai and our country towards this terror attack. I feel very lucky that in my short career of 6 years, I got this film in which I share screen space with actors like Vinod Khanna,Seema Biswas and Sadiya Siddique."

Further, he told us, "Moreover, it's unfortunate for me that I don't have scenes with these senior actors as this film has four parallel stories which are related to this terror attack. I play the role of 20-21 year old Richard who is chef in Hotel Oberoi Trident where this unfortunate incident happened and it was really nerve wrecking incident for every Indian."

About the film, he said that, "26/11 has been fixed in the minds of every Indian citizen as one of the most defying moments in the history of our nation. Not only our country but the entire world was shocked by the terror attack that shook the city of Mumbai and it's my humble tribute to thousands of people who have lost their lives in these horrendous attack."

He told us that before shooting this film, he had visited Taj and he says, "I have no words to say, though I was not able to go inside the Taj I can still feel sad for all the brave people who have laid their lives in this attack and last year when this incident happened I was not able to sleep for 3 days.I hope even our nation will love this movie.

Unn Hazaroon Ke Naam, an exclusive telefilm depicting the pain and suffering faced by people who were caught in the terror attack of 26/11. To be aired on November 28th and 29th 2009 at 9 pm, the movie illustrates the agony of not only the family members of the unfortunate ones who were struck by the terrorists but also echoes the sentiments and disgust of millions of Indians who watched the tragedy unfold from the confines of their homes.

Naseeruddin Shah likes Vikrant Massey

Life is going great guns for Vikrant Massey who plays Shyam in Balika Vadhu. Recently, Naseeruddin Shah complimented him on his performance in the serial.




A friend of Vikrant tells Indya, "Vikrant and his buddies were chilling at Prithvi Caf in Juhu, suburban Mumbai and Naseeruddin Shah was also there. Naseeruddin Shah told him that his wife Ratna watches Balika Vadhu regularly and that he too watched it sometimes. He said that he liked his work in the serial; that he was doing a good job. He also asked Vikrant if he had done theatre in the past to which Vikrant replied in the negative. Naseeruddin Shah advised him to do theatre and Vikrant said that he would be delighted to act in a play."

More so, insiders say that the upcoming tele-film, Un Hazaaron ke Naam, based on 26/11, will move people to tears. Vikrant Massey plays a waiter named Richard who works in The Oberoi. His performance has won him rave reviews. In fact, Seema Biswas, who plays his mother on-screen, told him she liked working with him and Vikrant was absolutely flattered. The film has been sent to festivals and has been approved to be screened at the Venice Film Festival next year.

When contacted, the shy and soft-spoken Vikrant Massey reluctantly confirmed the news. He told us, "It was an honour being complimented by stalwarts like Naseer Sir and Seemaji. I am here to be an actor; not a star and I love the work that I am doing and all the projects that are coming my way."

TV actress Vibha Anand is very excited but at the same time very nervous since its her first stage performance.The couple from Balika Vadhu will perform on two romantic songs.




After the Indian Telly Awards, its time for Indian Television Academy Awards and so for these awards rehearsals are going in full swing as all the leading actors are doing their best.We spoke to Balika Vadhu fame Vibha Anand aka Sugna about her stage performance with her co-actor Vikrant Massey.

How are the rehearsals going for ITA 2009?

"Its going fine by the grace of God and I am enjoying my rehearsals.This will be my first ever performance on the stage and so I am nervous and I hope that I wont let down my fans and Vikrant, who according to me is the best dancer but I am doing my best too, so lets see."

What is more difficult, acting or dancing?

"Both are not that difficult as we have to learn everything and so I am enjoying both as earlier I found that dancing is not that easy but with rehearsals every thing is going fine."

On which songs are you performing with Vikrant?

"We are performing on two songs together –Tera Hone Laga Hoon from Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani and Dekho chand Nazar Aaya from Saawariyaa and fortunately both the songs are my favourite so I am enjoying.The steps are both classical and little bit of contemporary dancing."

How are you managing both Balika Vadhu and the ITA rehearsals?

"Its not that hectic because my rehearsal starts after the Balika Vadhu pack-up and so there are no fixed timings for the rehearsals and luckily now in Balika Vadhu, Gehna's character will be focused as she has delivered a baby boy and so in that free time I got enough time for rehearsals."

How good is your co-actor Vikrant Massey in dancing?

"As compared to me, he is a very brilliant dancer because he has done learnt dancing from Shamaik Dawar's dancing school and so some times he teaches me how to dance and what kind of expression one can use in a stage performance."

Sphere Origin's famous show Balika Vadhu has new twist and turns in the upcoming episode to keep its viewers hooked onto their Television sets. In an unprecedented move Gehna (Neha Marda) will hand over her child to Maasa and leave the house.

Gehna was brought by Maasa to be wedded to the elder son Vasant, who is twice her age to give heir to the family. Earlier, as we all know Vasant and Gehna did not gel well and had difference of opinion on every household issue.

Initially, Vasant always played a dutiful son to his mother and supported Maasa in every decision she took. Gehna, on her part has always been a devoted daughter-in-law and a loyal wife. Seeing this good side of hers', Vasant had a change of heart and he became emotionally attached to her.

This was clearly seen in the previous episodes when during childbirth Gehna's life was in danger. Vasant stood up to his mother when the doctor told them that they could only save one of them. But Vasant goes against the wishes of Maasa and opts to save Gehna's life.

Will Vasant allow Gehna to leave the family and go away from them? Will Gehna be able to leave her baby and Vasant? Tune in to the next episode ofBalika Vadhu to find out what becomes of Gehna…

Is Neha Marda leaving Balika Vadhu?

Balika Vadhu has new twist and turns in the upcoming episode. Neha Marda akaGehna will hand over her child to Maasa and leave the house, or do we hear.

We spoke to our source close to the show, "This will be the high point in the drama and it will be very difficult for Gehna to leave her new born kid and her husband but she has to follow the promise which she had given to maasa (dadisa). But the new twist will be that Basant is in love with his wife and so he will not let Gehna go from his life and house."

Further we spoke to Neha Marda aka Gehna about her leaving the show, "I m very much part of the show and I can't tell what will happen next because there will be lots of twist and turns happening in the coming episodes, so please don't forget to watch out. As there will be lots of celebration like naamkaran and maasa will invite everyone from the nearby household."
