Sharad Kelkar is tired of playing it safe!
Before you jump to conclusions, let us tell you that the actor, who was last seen portraying the role of an upright and morally devoted husband and son, will soon be displaying his dark side on television.
Sharad will play the role of thakur Digvijay Bhadoria in Colors' new show Bairi Piya which begins tonight at 8.30 pm. Says Sharad about his role, "I am the antagonist in the show. Thakur Digvijay Bhadoria portrays the ideal husband, son and family man. He's rich and feared by the villagers. However, he is the man whose philandering ways get the protagonist of the show, Amoli, in trouble."
As for accepting a role with grey shades, he has this to say, "In order to grow as an actor, it is necessary that I keep pushing myself and try out new things. After my last stint, I was not working for almost six months. I had a few projects but all of them were more or less the kind of work I had already done. Bairi Piya was something different and exciting."
