She should have realised Ram would have loved her regardless. I guess if there were ever a scenario where she got into trouble and Shubhu ignored her while Ram came to her rescue, she might truly start loving her. She is blinded by the love she has for her own kids. About Nandu and VK, was there ever a mention of their past? I have not caught up with all the episodes yet. Shivi still seems like a good person though she can be shallow at times. Unlike Shubhu, she does seem to love Ram. Shubhu will not think twice before abandoning his mother, forget Ram. A guy like him can never be faithful to anyone.

While the obvious choice to draw parallels from would be Ramayan, other than the male lead being called Ram and him having a step family, I cannot see any other similarity. For instance Kaikeyi truly loved Ram more than her own son till Manthara spoilt her head. And all of Ram's siblings loved him unconditionally. Here toh while Shivi loves him to some extent, she is selfish and Shubhu toh never truly cared for Ram. Sita grew up in a household full of girls but they had an amazing father. Sita was a cheerful person. And heaven forbid it takes that route I cannot see Ram abandoning Priya in such a horrible manner. She is no Sita to pick up the pieces of her life again and start on a positive note. She will never get over Ram's betrayal.

Thank you. 🙈 I am not quite sure how Nandini can change, even if she realizes that Ram cares for her more than Shubhu would ever. I think she is too habituated in her manipulative ways and deep-rooted in her insecurities to change. VK and Nandu's past? I remember one episode. Ram was high on his medicines the night before the Diwali and in the intoxicated state, he shared with Priya few things from past, about his dad and step-mom, how things changed after the accident, and how he thought that her and her kids' love for him was an 'ehsaan' for an orphan.

Yeah, of course, there are plenty of dissimilarities between the epic and the show. It's the makers who drop plenty of references in the dialogues and bgms, which made me draw the parallel. 😆 One thing I fear might become common between Nandini and Kaikeyi: one day, overcome by her insecurities, Nandini might ask Ram to hand over everything in Shubhu's name. Let's see what happens, the story is still left.

Yeah, long time indeed. I am good. How are you? 🤗

My mom used to watch PKDH back then, I used to catch few Adi-Pankhudi scenes here and there. I haven't followed much of Disha's shows, but I had seen a bit of SSO in IB. You are right, Nakuul and Disha have grown so much as actors. It's like we are watching a grown up Adi and a grown up Pankhuri 😆 as Ram and Priya. It feels so soothing to watch them again after all these years. <3

Sorry, but I am lot liking the parallel tracks as much: The idea behind the track is nice, solving VK's murder mystery, changing dynamics in RaYa's family as RaYa's relationship gets mature, return of Varun. But I am not liking how the track is getting executed. It feels like the track is all over the place. There are contradicting flashbacks and timelines due to confusing backstories. For example, one time Ram identified his father's body at the hospital, the other time police called him to the accident site. Half the time, audience are supposed to solve the puzzle of their backstories. Some characters that could be more constructive, feel useless because they aren't contributing to their potential in the story. At least, until now, Ram and Priya's character arcs are going nicely. I like Ram's friends too, they are so sweet, and care for Ram. 😳 Brinda is one such adorable character, a true friend for RaYa. Actually, both Brinda and Kunal are missing. Instead we have got Varun and Krish. 😅

Am good too 🤗

Though PKDH was a decent show, it was IB that got Nakuul famous. I tried watching few clips but it felt like an overdose of glamour and good looking pairs and nothing more. So didn watch it much. But it used to be all over IF. Even though I didn watch the show the promos were more than enough and I lost count of the no of times the lead pair got married 🤣 coz every time Surbhi donned a bridal look there was an article on that. Disha acted in one other show that aired on Zee and I never watched that. After that she never acted in any other show. Nakuul also didn do many shows but IB was on air for a long time.

I haven’t watched BALH2 in it’s entirety but just few scenes from old episodes and I am confused. By parallel tracks I meant the family bonds shown between the sisters and the bond Ram shares with his friends. I love Adi and Brinda. Brinda is so sweet but where is she? I hope that actress hasn’t quit. I have a feeling Varun was also involved in VK’s death coz he was working for MS back then. That guy is anyways a pain. I hope they get rid of his character and bring a nice guy for Sara. She deserves better. Sandy is cute. They should pair her with Kunal 😛 btw is Vikrant still married to Twinkle or did they divorce? I donno much about the past except that MS caused the accident. But is it possible that Nandini is more than evil than she is shown? Could it be possible she joined hands with Sahil Babbar and got VK killed? I know it sounds crazy. I wish there was no connection between Priya and Krish. Ram is already insecure where he is concerned and Nandini might leverage this to drive a rift between RaYa. And by any chance Ram doubts Priya I doubt if she will forgive him and they will drag this show unnecessarily making the audience suffer. I have better hopes from a Sony show but the only drawback is they end very soon coz of TRPs. Compared to other shows on TV this is still much better. Though I like most of the characters, the mothers are a letdown. Nandu is the an antagonist, so can’t say much but I find Meera spineless. Any other woman in her place would have given MS a tight slap for almost killing her daughter but this woman just cries 😡

Funny na? It should be the other way around. It was Ram who took those thankless folks in and if today they r leading a luxurious life it’s all coz of him and his donkey work. He sacrificed a lot for them. Shivi though nice is selfish and keeps herself above all else. But somewhere deep down she loves Ram unlike Shubhu. The only situation I can think of where Nandu will realise Ram’s value is when she is in a near death situation and Ram comes to her rescue while Shubhu abandons her. I am sure Nandu will ask Ram to transfer the property to Shubhu but Shubhu will never be able to hold onto it for long. Ram on the other hand will rebuild his life along with Priya beside him.

There was an OTT show that Ekta produced called Baarish which was a remake of BALH1. The plot is more or less than same. The only difference being Ram’s character Anuj would have sacrificed his education to support his family after his dad’s death and the step mother is not evil. Priya aka Gauravi is an optimistic person unlike Priya who is bitter. Their marriage happens under similar circumstances coz of their siblings. There Anuj makes Gauravi a 50% partner or something like that for a new venture just like Ram did. Rishi aka Shubhu does some golmaal and he escapes and since Gauravi is a partner she gets jailed. Rishi escapes with all the money in his name and Anuj and Gauravi aka RaYa become homeless but Anuj has good friends who stand by them. Again these characters are ditto like Adi Brinda. Rishi eventually manages to mess up even further and land in more losses whereas Anuj who who has finally realised how selfish his siblings are rebuilds his life and establishes himself. Especially after Gauravi looses their first child coz of all the ongoing stress. But Anuj will be more concerned about making money to provide a better life for Gauravi but in that process drifts away from her. Shivi aka Shreyas’s marriage eventually breaks and she realises how selfish Rishi is and how Anuj has actually been a true brother to her. In the end Anuj and Gauravi resolves their differences and reconcile.
