“you know Mr. Kapoor, I love singing and dancing, I used to do it, whenever I was alone, happy or sad, it lifts me up.” A tipsy Priya spoke, “What… you never told me that! I love singing and dancing too…” Ram spoke back excitedly, “Well, we are kind of alike in some cases.” She said innocently, Ram’s eyes gleamed. The song changed, she jumped enthusiastically, held his shoulder and shook him, he looked at her, his eyebrows furrowed, “I love this song, it’s such a classic” she yelled, leaving him and increased the volume.

She tried singing to it, but it was a bit off beat as she was drunk. And he enjoyed seeing her happily singing without a care in this world. He liked the song too.

She was dancing by herself, moving her hips lightly, swaying her body, she was free, nothing mattered now. ‘God Priya! If only you knew what effect you have on me. I love you so damn much…' he was deep in his thoughts admiring her beauty, her smile, her singing and dancing.

She sang the last line looking at him, like she was trying to convey it. Her eyes spoke volumes of love, she wouldn’t admit yet, but it was evident. She smiled, and walked towards him

She extended her hand and he took it, she pulled him closer to her. She wrapped her arms around his torso, while he slowly held her face, his hand caressing her cheeks. Not losing the eye contact, she sang it to him, meaning every word. He felt it, all hell broke loose inside him, his pulse raced, heart beating faster than it should, cheeks turning blood red. They just swayed lightly.

He too joined her and sang with her, she hummed, resting her head on his shoulder, while he held her by her waist. She was very tired, he could sense her falling asleep. The song ended a while ago, but they didn’t let each other go. She lifted her and gently placed her on the bed, he tried pulling himself away, but she wasn’t ready to let go of his hand. He smiled at her, and lied down beside her covering them with the duvet.
The next day Priya got up with a headache. She clutched her head, groaning. She saw a glass of water and aspirin in the bed stand, she smiled thinking who had kept it. She quickly drank it, and a call came. It was a video call from Sara dii, “Hii Priya kaisi ho? I thought of calling you yesterday… but u had slept off, so… how is everything?” she asked, Priya could she was in the bakery along with Bri and Adi, “Hi Sara di, Brinda, Adi… It went well, they have taken him in. They said he might be facing a life time in jail. But tell, why are all of you present together in the morning?” she asked, Bri laughed, “Adi wanted cupcakes, and Sara and I are pretty good friends now, so we came here. But I am glad, you both are fine. When will you guys be returning back?” she asked, “Uhh… I don’t know Brinda, you should Mr. Kapoor” she replied, “Oh, he hasn’t told me yet too, where is he?” spoke Adi, “I think he is in the washroom.” she replied. Just then she could hear Ram humming something coming out of the washroom, he was wearing a casual shirt and pants, did not notice that Priya was in a video call, she was now looking at him, and the phone was silent, Sara, Bri and Adi were confused why Priya was staring somewhere else, then they saw something that shocked them. Ram had come closer and gave a soft kiss on her cheeks, “Good almost afternoon, gorgeous. Feeling better?” he asked, still not realising there is a call going on, and Priya sat there still. The Aww’s and Oooh’s brought them back to reality, Ram had just realised what he had done, his eyes went wide, seeing the three people looking at them with a smirk, while Priya sat there embarrassed thinking of ways to distract but no words came out of her, Ram snatched her phone, “Adi tu cupcake kha raha hai mere bine, you’ll get sick, I am angry, I will talk with you later” he said cutting the call. Ram looked at Priya to apologised but before he could she started laughing surprising him. “Oh god Mr. Kapoor, you have now given them a life time opportunity to tease us.” She said shaking her head. “By the way… what is the plan now?” Ram wasted stay longer, he knew Priya would be a bit sceptical on that. “Well, I thought we could go to St. Mark’s basilica in the evening, I heard it’s beautiful.” He said hoping she would agree. “yeah sure. I am feeling better now.” She replied. He gave a her a full smile. “Mr. Kapoor, did you feel Bri looked different, or acting different?” she asked, “No, she was usual self, teasing us.” He said nonchalantly. “Hm... there is something.” She said. “what?” he asked, “I don’t know” She said. “Priya, you’re overthinking. She is fine, if something was up, she’d tell me, or us” he said. “yeah” Priya replied.
“Hello, how would feel to be my girlfriend!!” Ram said, as Priya entered the room wearing a blue ankle length frock with marble design, she choked on the water she was drinking. “girlfriend?!” she asked wide eyed, “haan, girlfriend. See, Mrs. Kapoor, we go on dates, so we’re dating, that basically makes you my girlfriend.” He said, his eyes twinkling. “First of all, hum college mei nahi hai ki hum dono girlfriend-boyfriend ho and secondly, we’re married!” she said rolling her eyes. “even better…” Ram said huskily winking, causing butterflies in her stomach, making her go reddest of red. Ram pulled her closer wrapping his arm around her waist, “Priya, I don’t care what we label our relationship. Whatever it is, it is ours and only ours, it will never depend on Shivi-Akki or anything. Okay gorgeous?” he said, she smiled having teary eyes, she rested her head on his chest. “feeling’s mutual, Mr. Kapoor.” He grinned widely, kissing her forehead something she has grown to love. “by the way, you look hot, even you told that yesterday” he said, “I told you look hot?” she asked trying to think, “Nah, yourself. You toh were dancing and singing, and you told me it’s your favourite activity to do.” He said, “Ah, I remember that, can’t help falling in love with you....” she said smiling, Ram too returned her smile. ‘I already do, and even more now’ he thought smiling, ‘seems like I am breaking our deal, because I can’t help falling in love with you’ she thought with a little blush. “let’s go?” he asked, she nodded taking his hand. They soon reach the basilica, it was lit up with lights, there wasn’t much people, so it was calm and peaceful. The structure was built so incredibly and it was huge, the engravings on the marble wall gave it a stunning touch to it. Priya was in awe, it looked so serene. They go inside, and prayed for a while, Ram wished for their happiness, and Priya wished for Ram’s wish to come true. The father blessed the happy couple. “you know, I have always believed in god, it doesn’t matter what religion, for me it is about the belief you have. And this is such a beautiful place, you can feel the positivity within the walls, that is why I like religious places, they have this affinity” she said looking around the paintings and sculptures. “I agree” he replied doing the same. They came out, decided to have dinner. “Priya...?” he called her, she turned to him, “I thought... we can umm...” he started, “what is it?” she asked impatiently, “We could stay for a few more days, look around more, just us” he said, “Okay... even I wanna see visit places” she said making Ram happy. “pizza?” before she could reply, he spoke, “Pizza it is!!” he jumped excitedly. “I swear when we have a kid, it’ll be two for me, one will be our kid, and the other one would will be you:” she said, holding him. He pouted, but soon blushed lightly hearing her talking about kids.
“yaar!!! I am so full!!! I can’t move. I shouldn’t have eaten so much slices” he said rubbing his belly, “Mr. Kapoor! You made me eat so much...” she complained, “it was delicious right?” he asked, “Yes, but now I am too lazy and tired to walk” he laughed at her, “I can carry you” he said with a smirk, she gave a curt smile, “no thank you, I can manage” she said getting up, but Ram just sat there lazily, “seems like I should be the one lifting you” she chuckled, Ram raised an eyebrow, “I don’t mind” he said. She just shook her head, and pulled him out of the chair making him chuckle at her attempt. They were walking down the road, Ram’s phone rang. His face brightened up, “It’s mom!” he said, she urged him to pick it up. “Hi mom!!” he said chirpily, “Hi Ram, how are you, I am so glad everything is fine, I was worried, is Priya there? I had called her, but her phone was switched off, so I kinda got a bit tensed.” She said, “Oh, I am fine, I’ll give her” he said, she took it from his hand. “Mom woh actually mera battery dead hai.” She explained, “Oh... okay, it’s fine. How are you Priya? When Ram told me the plan, I was so shocked, it looked like some mission they show in movies and all.” She said, Priya chuckled lightly, “I am perfectly fine. How is everyone? Shivi and Shubhu?” she asked. Ram made her put the phone on speaker, “They are fine, busy.” she said sounding a bit sad, she realized how Ram always gave her the attention while she thought of him as stepson, while her own children never once called her on their own. “Mom, actually me and Priya decided to come a bit late, we thought of being in Venice for some more days” he spoke, “I was gonna suggest the same. After all this drama, you guys need a break. You both enjoy okay, don’t worry about here.” She said with a smile. They spoke with her a few minutes. They reached their room, “I’m hitting the bed, I am so tired” he said, rolled on to his bed. “Mr. Kapoor!!” she yelled, “you didn’t take your medicines, you do remember what happened last time you didn’t take it right? I told you to have it when we left the restaurant. And you didn’t have.” She said frustrated, “Oops, it slipped from my mind” he said, “What will do if I am not there to remind you?!” she taunted, a cold fear sent shivers through his spine as he heard her, “What do you mean?” he asked looking a bit pale, “Mr. Kapoor? Are you okay? I just meant like if I go out, like if I stay over at ma’s home, I wouldn’t be around to remind you right.” She said, “Yeah but you can phone na. Why are you talking as if you are leaving me?” he asked, “Mr. Kapoor... no... I didn’t mean it like that... I am sorry, all I meant was... forget what I said, no one is leaving. I will always be there to taunt you about medicines, don’t worry” she said, Ram relaxed a bit. “I won’t let you also.” He said, “won’t let me taunt, I don’t think so” she said giving a side smile, “No, I won’t let you leave” he said clutching her hand tightly. “I know, and I don’t want to also.” She said giving a reassuring nod, keeping her hand above his, squeezing it gently.
They retired to the bed. “do you wanna see mighty shipwrecks?” he asked her, she slightly opened her eyes, “hmm... sound interesting.” She said softly, “Okay, then tomorrow we are going to Sicily.” He said, “Okay” she mumbled in her sleep, Ram smiled and switched off the lights. ‘You don’t what’s coming for you Priya, you are not gonna like my surprise, but trust me, you would wanna do it!’ he thought drifting off.
