Scene 3 - Ground floor of Kapoor Builder's office. Kunal waiting at the reception. Vedika walks out of the lift.

Vedika - Kunal , what do you think you are doing ?

Kunal - What do you mean?

Vedika - You know what I meant. Why are you trying to make Ram fall in love with Priya. You think by showing that you are close to Priya will make Ram jealous?

Kunal - Why should Ram be jealous of me? Listen, he knows me very well but more than that he knows Priya. He trusts her. Their relationship is built on trust. Are you getting restless thinking that all of a sudden you are going to loose that importance in his life?

Vedika - That shows how less you know about me and Ram. Ram will always have a special place in his heart for me.

Kunal - Vedika , I have known you even before you met Ram. Let me remind you , our parents are family friends . We have known each other from our diaper days. So, on that note let me tell you something. Till now Ram has a special place for you in his heart. He treats you as his best friend. Dont loose that place by trying to create rift between him and his wife.

Vedika - Nice that you agreed that Ram has a special place for me in his heart but not as a friend. I am his world. Even after my marriage , he didnt stop loving me. You have seen us in college too.

Kunal - Yes , I have seen him with you and with Priya. I have never felt that you really loved Ram. He gave you so much of importance and you got the attention and care from the college's most well behaved and soft hearted boy. And you put a best girl image so that you do not loose his attention. In reality both of you dont know each other at all. What you have seen of each other is only the nicer side. All your anger and tantrums were with me right? Even when you were upset with Ram , you would come and fight with me.

Vedika - What are you trying to tell me Kunal?

Kunal - That you were never close to him . Not even as much as you were close to me.

Vedika - You and I we are childhood friends.

Kunal - Thank you for accepting that point. Telling you again, Ram is in love with Priya. None of us have seen him this way . Its so evident Vedu. And even if you break their relationship, you will not get Ram. He will either try to get back Priya or he will end up destroying everything he made. You are just being adamant like any other time. If you continue on this path .You are going to get hurt.

Vedika - He can never love anyone. By the way I have got my divorce from Shashi. All the legal aspects are done and I got the papers.

Kunal - Congrats , I am happy that you got away from Shashi. I have never liked from the day one. But Vedu, I am telling you as a friend, dont meddle with Ram's marriage.

Vedika - If you are confident that Priya trusts Ram then why are you wasting time pleading for them

Kunal - You still haven't understood , have you ? That is the problem with you. You only see what you want to see. This time let me word it out for you . Vedu, I do not want any one to get hurt...especially YOU. If you need me , I am just a phone call away. I am always there for you.

Saying so , he walks back to the office. And Vedika walked towards her car, thinking about what Kunal said.

Scene - 4. Kapoor Mansion. Priya is in the kitchen baking cup cakes. Kunal at the door with files that needs to handed over to Ram.

Priya - Tarun , who has come?

Tarun - its Kunal Sir.

Priya - Ok , get some tea ready.

Kunal was seated in the living room as Priya walked in .

Priya - Hi Kunal , this is a pleasant surprise. What brings you here on a weekend?

Kunal - What else ...work.

Priya - Ah that's bad. Is my husband making his friends working overtime?

Kunal - ( Laughs) Well kind of..but cant blame him . These papers had some last minute changes . Its done and we need his signature. Where is he.

Priya - He is taking a bath. Its been more than an hour. Should be here in any minute.

Tarun comes with Tea.

Priya - Have some Tea, by then he will be here.

Kunal - How is your health now? Do you still need to go for those Physiotherapy sessions.

Priya - No , I do not have those sessions, am fine now. Some times I feel a lil giddy. Doctor did said that , its is going to be there for some more time. Then things should fall in place.

Kunal - Good Ram was very worried. We have seen him like this only once , that was when his father met with the accident.

Priya - He did tell me that he was scared. It felt as if the history would repeat. I dont know why he compared it with his father's accident. I mean ..we just dont share that kind of strong bond. Our marriage is an outcome of what our families wanted than what we wanted.

Kunal - Bhabhi , are you saying that people who had arranged marriages dont fall in love with each other?

Priya - No , I didnt mean that . Our circumstances are way different. I doubt if it can be called as an arranged marriage. It was more like a marriage of convieniance.

Kunal - Is that why his eyes and thoughts keeps following you. Honestly Bhabhi , this Ram is new for us.

Priya - Really? Kunal , I know you all are trying to push him into a zone, he is not comfortable to be in. I know there is a past and you are all trying to hide it from me.

Kunal - Wrong. We are trying to concentrate on the present. No one lives in past.

Priya - Kunal , at the time of the engagement , he had told me that he could never fall in love again and that he is still in love with his past. I know Vedika is his past.

Kunal - Did he tell you about Vedika.

Priya - He wanted to but I told him not to because I could sense his pain.

Ram walks down the stairs wondering what Kunal was talking to Priya. He did not understand why he felt restless when he saw Priya and Kunal together. But there was something else that distracted his thought. Was it cup cakes..

Priya - There he is.

Kunal - Hi Ram, I thought after marriage , you might reduce the time you spend in the bathroom.

Ram - Common , I just took 45 mins.When did you come?

Priya - He came around half an hour back. You guys sit and talk , will get something to eat for you guys.

Priya walks towards Kitchen

Kunal - Dont worry Ram , I am not going to spoil your romantic weekend with your wife. I will leave soon

Hearing this he blushed

Ram - had your say, now can I have the documents ?

Kunal - Here you go.

Ram - did you bring cup cakes?

Kunal - No, I just got you the documents that you need to sign. Why do you ask?

Ram - Dont you smell , cup cakes?

Priya - Its from here. I baked some . You guys have this while you review the documents . In the meanwhile I will pack some for Vikrant, Adi and Bri.

Kunal - Thank you Bhabhi.

Priya walked back to the Kitchen.

Ram - I didnt know , she was baking cup cakes.

Kunal - Its nice to see the two of you so much in love with each other.

Ram - Kunal , there are few things still not settled between us. Like my past. I mean I have told her that I did have someone in my past and that accepting anyone is difficult. But now things are so different. I never thought , my past would seem so insignificant in front of her affection and care.

Kunal - I will make it easy for you.

Ram - What do you mean?

Kunal - She knows Vedika is your past.

Ram - You told her.

Kunal - Nope. She told me. Ram, she is emotionally strong . She might not show but she understands and respects people.

There was absolute silence in the room. Ram quickly starts signing the documents as he didnt want to have any more conversation.

By then Priya came with a paper bag and handed it over to Kunal. Kunal realising the situation left very quickly.

Priya - Mr. Kapoor, you guys didnt like the cake?

Ram - It was good. Kunal did munch couple of them.

Priya - What about you?

Ram - I did taste one. Its nice. Just that I got busy with papers. I will have it later.

Priya - Ok.

He quickly walked back to his room. He didnt know , how to start the conversation about his past and knowing that she knews abt Vedika didnt help one bit. As he entered the room , he saw there was tray kept near his reading table. It had chocolate cup cakes with Vanila cream and heart shaped sprinkles.

Priya - Mr. Kapoor, we have never hidden our past and we also know that we wont cheat on each other. They why bring up a painful past to spoil the beauty of the present..

Ram - You are right Priya but I need to tell you. I feel so burdened.

Priya - We have been married for just few months. I know we have lots to tell each other. But we will do that at our own pace.

I really want Pri to have a bestie , and out of that lot I think its Kunal alone who has liked Priya for who she is.

For Bri Priya was just a girl who could probably help Ram get out of his Vedu Jaap.

Adi ka toh kya hi kehna. His audacity to question Priya's character for as much as seeing her with Neeraj in bakery, when probably just few days back Bri and him were worried that Ram might go to see Vedu pedu in the night..

It took Priya taking the blame of annulment to earn his respect.

Vikrant thought of Priya as a gold digger , coz of Twinkle.

So if Priya is somewhat a part of their circle , the credit goes to her and her alone. She has won them over with her actions. It was never easy for her unlike Ram.

Sood's love for Ram is definitely not selfless, maybe Meera's is , I don't know, but respect was always there. Ram did not have to struggle to earn their respect , probably because he is " The Ram Kapoor" and Sood's lack self respect big time.

Anyways Sood's are more welcoming than Kapoors. Excluding that irritating Mami ji , look at how they pamper Shivina. Her only responsibility as DIL of that family is to make them laugh 😂

And whenever Ram comes over , the Sood sister's fight on who will feed him, who will pamper him.

When I think of Pri , she has no one in that Kapoor Mansion other than Ram. Jis ghar me Ram ko hi apnapan mehsoos nahi hota, can't even fathom how lonely and out of place she must be feeling. Just that she never expresses it.

Kunal is really a nice guy. I wish they utilize his character better . He is non-judgmental and was so protective when he saw annulment papers and Ram-Vedu proposal video.

Pri-Kunal have a potential to be like Ram-Bri or even better , because both of them are mature and sorted..

I think Kunal is a very level headed person. I also wanted to explore a lil on to Kunal's past and his relationship with Vedika, hence Scene 3. When they began the show , I had liked the fact that Vedika was a positive character. In fact , I felt bad that she had to end up with Shashi and Shashi was using her to get benefits from Ram. Though she didnt like doing that , she did it for her husband and to survive in that marriage. I am not justifying her actions. She is not an emotionally strong person. . I really hope they will change her character back to a positive one in the show.

Do you remember the ad with the boss' daughter hooking up with the employee and him smelling his perfume on her and going "Kunal...?" Idk why I thought of that when Ram said his name🤣

But I like the twist of Pri figuring it out, makes her look a bit more smarter😆

I never actually thought about this detailed past for any characetrs (excpet AdiBri, maybe) so thats a good change to.

You should make this in a format of a ff/ss and put it up in the FF archive

Loved both the scenes🤗

Probably Kunal saying the same might make Vedika see some sense if she's not supposed to be the Vamp of the show

And the scene KM Living Room showcases how Kunal can be a good friend to both Husband & Wife ❤️

Maybe cos I have also seen it in real life. Most guys have this underlying thought of girls needing them. If she's self-sufficient then what is my role here. I think the Main Question becomes - how do we Create a bond if you're capable of doing everything on your own and don't need my support for anything.

A common Friend needs to highlight these facts to Ram in a way this 39yr old kid can understand.

Matlab, hum self-sufficient Women kya karein? I don't think we should deliberately act as women who need men for every small case. Rather men should be taught to get over this trend of seeing themselves as our Protectors atleast when we don't need them to be 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ram is not used to self sufficient people around him. He thinks if they do not depend on him , then they do not need him. He has not witnessed selfless love.

A common friend , who is also a well wisher will be able to nudge them in the right direction. These people need that very badly. To bring in that balance , we need some one from Ram's side to be appreciative of Priya and her affection for Ram. The best possible person I thought was Kunal. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
