Snippets - A friend for Priya ( Scene 3 & 4 Added - Page2 )

I have been thinking about how lonely Priya is in her life. She is selfless when it comes to her loved ones. Always hiding her fear, anticipations, inhibitions and loneliness with in herself. When this show started what really attracted me was her eyes. Her expression was always blank. There was an emptiness written on her face but her eyes showed the depth of the pain that she has endured all her life. Today as she tried to sleep after reading that card , you could again sense that pain.

For the world , she has a good job, loving family and an even more loving and wealthy husband. But only she knows that, there isnt one person whom she can completely open up and just be herself. She is a lonely soul. Every one around her is trying to tell her how good Ram is and that she is blessed to have him as her husband. Has anyone even tried to understand what she needs from this life. I do not think Ram has done anything worthwhile for which Priya needs to fall in love for Ram. She might say their marriage isnt real but from the start, the one who is trying to make this marriage work is Priya and not Ram. She has started understanding him emotionally.

His concern for Priya is only on paper and superficial. He keeps blaming her about how she is not appreciative about him. He doesnt even crack a single conversation with out hurting her ego. Most of his conversation end up making her look unfit to be his wife. He just cant handle some one who is self sufficient.

Hence this thought came to my mind. Priya needs a friend. A friend who will appreciate her for who she is and not for what the world wants her to be. A true friend with whom she can discuss her inner fears and inhibitions. Besides I am BORED with all these negative characters and the Ram fan club. Need a new face , probably an old college friend of Priya. Preferably a guy. What say??

I was also thinking Ram's friend Kunal as her best friend. The friend who Ram thought should marry Priya. He seemed to respect her from day 1. They need to bring in someone like him , who is close to Ram but not a part of his fan club. He can also help Ram to get close to Priya. Let him be on Priya's side and be her fan club.

Imagine.....

Scene 1 at KM . Their bedroom, Priya resting and Ram working on his computer. Tarun walks in with a bouquet of white and yellow roses along with a gift for Priya .

Kunal - Hi Bhabhi. How are you ? Sorry couldnt come to meet you after the accident. Had to rush to home town as my mom was not well. This is for you.

Then shakes hand with Ram and hugs him.

Priya - Thank you Kunal. How is your mom now?

Kunal - She is fine . Much better.

Ram - whats that gift ?

Priya , opens the gift wrapper. Its a book from her favorite author.

Priya - Oh great, this is the latest one from my favorite author.

Ram - was this a wild guess ?

Kunal - No, I remember seeing his books in your hand while you visited Ram in the office.

Ram - how come I didnt know about it.

Kunal - Because you like to see Bhabhi through others eyes. Look at her with your own and you will know what she needs.

Scene 2 - Office - Ram, Vikrant , Adhi and Vedika. Vedika is sitting on the sofa . The others at Ram's table going through some document. Post lunch time. Kunal walks in.

Ram - where have you been. Look Vedu has brought lunch for us.

Kunal - Thanks , but I had my lunch. Home made parattas with lovely Paneer curry.

Adi - where did you get it from?

Even before Kunal could respond, Vedika responds.

Vedika - Let me guess, you were having lunch with Priya.

Kunal - Brilliant . Yes , Bhabhi invited me to have lunch.

Ram - why did she not call us?

Kunal - I had sent her a funny message and then she asked me if I had lunch. I said no, then she said if I went to the canteen , she can share some home made food. And I went.

Ram - This is not fair Kunal. She is my wife.

Kunal - I know that and hence my bhabhi. Common Ram, late in the night , after Priya Bhabhi sleeps, you talk to Vedika holding her hands , cant I just share a meal at the canteen with my friend's wife whom I see as my own sister??

All shocked at what they heard.

Ram - who told you about me talking to Vedika.

Kunal - Bhabhi, as in your darling wife. By the way she has sent this for you.

He handed him a Dairy Milk Bar Chocolate

Vedika - That is not the brand that Ram prefers.

Kunal - Yes , I told her that but she preferred this one. Ram I would say look at it closely , it isnt just any Diary Milk....it is Dairy Milk Heart Blush . Search for the taglines and you will know why she preferred this for you.

Well that's all for now. I think we need a fan club for Priya in show. Eagerly waiting to read all your comments and thoughts about the idea of Priya having a best friend.

Waise I am team raya… I didn’t see priya in the wrong till now except some ‘aaj kuch thofaani karthe hai’ situations,which are created by ram , coz he thinks that she will magically correct a lot of things without him saying/telling… and later when she acts in a way that’s deemed right by her instincts and core, she doesn’t say why she acted the way she did, which causes ram to think that she is not getting him…

Inka ringa ringa mu’s ..are going on like this from the start🤣…

Maybe cos I have also seen it in real life. Most guys have this underlying thought of girls needing them. If she's self-sufficient then what is my role here. I think the Main Question becomes - how do we Create a bond if you're capable of doing everything on your own and don't need my support for anything.

Toh Kya kare bechari Priya? Ram please yeh kardenge mere liye, please woh kardenge bolti rahe.

Ram, you should be happy that you have gotten a Wife who isn't dependent on you while you have an entire barrage of Humans already depending on you for every Single issue. You should appreciate how Superb your wife is 😎

A common Friend needs to highlight these facts to Ram in a way this 39yr old kid can understand.

Matlab, hum self-sufficient Women kya karein? I don't think we should deliberately act as women who need men for every small case. Rather men should be taught to get over this trend of seeing themselves as our Protectors atleast when we don't need them to be 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hi I agree with you but some time I wish ram will relise himself. Isn't marriage about two people then why does a third person need to saw you mirror.

I agree 1000% with you! Priya being self sufficient and being able to take care of herself isn't a fault that needs to be corrected.

And anyways Ram is only rich, otherwise toh he is fully dependent on Adi for everything 🙄 toh what is his point even.

Plus Ram should be glad that his wife is a confident woman who knows how to handle difficult situations. And if he wants to know his role in her life it's someone who can stand with her, by her side as an equal. Both supporting each other's decisions and standing with them in case of issues.

Ram has spent his whole life playing the role of caretaker and is also surrounded by yes men. I think Bri is the only one who actually ever points out his mistakes to him. So for him Priya being a normal human and not giving him special treatment is like "taunts" and "arguments".

There are so many instances where Priya is only speaking her mind but he'll say stop shouting at me/stop fighting. And Priya always says "Arre, main kaha ladd rahi hoon?"

It's because for him disagreeing means being against him.

Priya genuinely needs a friend, someone she can confide in who doesn't have a hidden agenda to get her with Ram by hook or by crook like Brinda, who would actually consider her side of things, her feelings and not just praise Ram for being the bare minimum (and that too not always) like Sara, and someone who just won't ask her to swallow her self respect all the damn time to appease the husband like Meera aunty.

She had a friend in college right? Vikrants ex? Maybe she could be there but only if she is also not part of the Ram fan club.

Tbh, I find Sara to be overly obsessive with her adoration of Ram. Like it's good at times, but behen atleast mention your husband and child also sometimes?

I really want Pri to have a bestie , and out of that lot I think its Kunal alone who has liked Priya for who she is.

For Bri Priya was just a girl who could probably help Ram get out of his Vedu Jaap.

Adi ka toh kya hi kehna. His audacity to question Priya's character for as much as seeing her with Neeraj in bakery, when probably just few days back Bri and him were worried that Ram might go to see Vedu pedu in the night..

It took Priya taking the blame of annulment to earn his respect.

Vikrant thought of Priya as a gold digger , coz of Twinkle.

So if Priya is somewhat a part of their circle , the credit goes to her and her alone. She has won them over with her actions. It was never easy for her unlike Ram.

Sood's love for Ram is definitely not selfless, maybe Meera's is , I don't know, but respect was always there. Ram did not have to struggle to earn their respect , probably because he is " The Ram Kapoor" and Sood's lack self respect big time.

Anyways Sood's are more welcoming than Kapoors. Excluding that irritating Mami ji , look at how they pamper Shivina. Her only responsibility as DIL of that family is to make them laugh 😂

And whenever Ram comes over , the Sood sister's fight on who will feed him, who will pamper him.

When I think of Pri , she has no one in that Kapoor Mansion other than Ram. Jis ghar me Ram ko hi apnapan mehsoos nahi hota, can't even fathom how lonely and out of place she must be feeling. Just that she never expresses it.

Kunal is really a nice guy. I wish they utilize his character better . He is non-judgmental and was so protective when he saw annulment papers and Ram-Vedu proposal video.

Pri-Kunal have a potential to be like Ram-Bri or even better , because both of them are mature and sorted..

Priya being fiercely independent and self sufficient is increasing Ram's self worth issues. He has to understand that Priya has always been like that and it does not mean she has made a list of Ram's failures or she thinks he is good for nothing..

I really don't like it when people try to make her feel guilty for this quality. He was like mujhe iss layak bhi nahi samjha ki mere haath se medicines le sako, I mean it's a good thing that she takes care of herself .Priya takes care of his medicines and diet because he does not.

Both of them are in a tricky space having never seen a marriage of equals. All the women in Ram's life Nandini , Vedika, Shivi , Brindha all of them are financially dependent on men.

Priya is not only financially independent but can really take care of herself , her family and even Ram and that's actually a good thing. How many men are lucky to get a girl whose idea about love , marriage, husband is not clouded by silly fairy tales and movies ,who do not have unfair expectations that husband should be a prince charming who would come , sweep her off her feet, protect her etc etc.

Ram is unnecessarily taking this burden , when he has got a girl who is so sorted and practical.

Even to Adi and Bri he said waqt aa gaya hai Priya ka asli me hero banne ka..

This is exactly what is not needed. She has always been her own hero and I really respect that about her and would not want makers to make her say that Ram is her hero.

Koi fairy tale thodi hain, Ram and Priya are equals.

Ram should get over this hero complex. Priya is not going to give him the privilege to be her hero.

Both of them will stand for each other and will be a team. Koi kisi ka Hero ya protector nahi hai, neither Priya nor Ram. Priya is very rigid and sensitive about this and Ram as he himself confessed in Diwali has a hero complex. So it's really difficult for both of them. Ram is used to people coming to him , depending on him, and Priya is allergic to help.

Priya can definitely not feign wanting help in areas were she doesn't have to. She did come to Ram for Akki issue , unfortunately it fell apart. Had they solved it as a team, there would have been such a good progress in their relationship.
