Sakshi Tanwar talks about living, loving and surviving in Tellywood.

You played Parvati (Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii) for seven long years. Was it difficult to get the audience to accept you in your current show?
When I decided to play Priya ( Bade Achhe Lagte Hai) I knew the character had lots of shades. From a young financially independent woman who's a breadwinner to a single mom and then a woman in love, I think the role has interesting graphs. Having said that, I didn't expect it to become so popular. If Parvati was India's favourite bahu, then Priya is the epitome of the urban Indian working woman. A lot of viewers have been able to identify with both of my characters.

Most of your viewers continue to address you as Parvati or Priya. Does that sit comfortably with you?
Actually, a lot of my viewers also recognise me as Sakshi Tanwar, although I have played two iconic characters that have made me a household name. I love it when people call me 'Priya' or 'Parvati', after all they are my alter-egos!

We've heard that you and your co-actor Ram Kapoor don't get along well. What's your off screen rapport with Ram like?
What rubbish! Ram and I are professionals and are completely at ease on screen. Off screen we have a healthy respect for each other.

Most TV actresses have done reality shows. Will we ever get to see you in one soon?
I'm not sure about doing reality TV at this point of my life, but I've enjoyed appearing on the four seasons of Kaun Banega Crorepati.

You've wrapped up Mohalla Assi with Sunny Deol. I enjoyed working in CP Dwivedi's film where I play the role of a simple woman who is married to a pandit (played by Sunny Deol). Working with Sunny was a fabulous experience.

No one seems to know much about your love life. Any plans to settle down sometime soon? Even I'd like to know about my love life. Seriously, right now, work's my priority and I am not thinking about anything else!

I like the word"HEALTHY" in the title of this piece - in India, it is usually an euphemism for "obese" and this description suits Ram well.
