Have a deep connection with audience

Big star of Small Screen have been getting big opportunities on Silver screen. With his acting talent he is equally active on both mediums. Usually reserved in nature chatted freely, talking abt his upcoming projects on both TV & Films.

After Mai, this year you wud be seen in YRF's MDKM playing a pivotal character. Has your popularity on TV had helped your bollywood career?

This is a difficult question, because usually its a perception that a established TV actor doesn't get enough work in films & its true to a certain extent. But there are few actors who get enough work...I personally beleive that as an actor we shud forget the medium & focus on giving our best. Your hardwork gives you recognition irrespective of medium, be it films or Tv.

TV or films to which you will give more priority?

For me, both are equal...when i decided to become an actor I never planned to become a TV actor or a film actor. I want to do good work...& if films dont provide me that...I will be more than happy to work on TV.
After Hazaro khwaishein aisi & Monsoon wedding nothing worthwhile came to me in films, so i returned back to TV. But with films like Udaan, things changed for good & now i am expecting good & exciting work in films.

You are on peak in your TV career, are you choosy & careful while selecting your film characters?

I am not a fearful person, neither i plan for future, I focus on what I have in hand. I have acheived a lot on TV & doing good films also...I know i have a long way to go ahead. I am not satisfied but yes, I am happy with everything I have done so far.

Your view abt current TV scenario?

Currently TV is fastest growing medium, even film makers are understanding & realising TV's reach. Filmmakers are realising that actors like Ronit Roy & me connect with audience deeply. Today I am working with likes of Farhan akhtar, Karan Johar , Saif, Aditya Chopra...they all have appreciated my connection with audience.

How you mantain a balance b/w TV & films?

For this credit goes to my manager who manages to take out 15 days to each medium. Till today i haven't faced any problems & I enjoy working in both mediums as i love my work...& both are equally challenging & exciting. Only difference is films are more relaxed than TV which is more fast paced.

We see you only in fatherly roles in films?

I never wanted to be a Hero in Bollywood. If i get to play character roles like Boman Irani I dont have any complaints. Though i am playing father in MDKM, but in my coming films you will see me in different characters.
