Ram's voice coming from their room startled Priya, who was with dadi, telling Rishabh about her medicines. His irritated tone told her that she was in big trouble. Even dadi sensed that and she said

'ja priya puttar.. Dekh ke Golu kya keh raha hai..?'

Priya sighed and started to go towards their room. She knew why he was so much irritated. And why won't he? It was only yesterday that he came back from a week long business trip. And she hadn't even properly talked with him yet!

But it wasn't her fault either, Priya sighed once again. She also had missed him horribly! But She was helpless. The day before, Dadi had got call from Amritsar. Ram's distant cousin's marriage was fixed and function was to take place in two days. As Ram was not in town, and Rishabh had his last paper that day, Priya had to do all the needful, from arranging tickets to buying gifts and what not. When Ram had returned in the late evening, she barely greeted him and served him dinner, before going to dadi's room to do the packing.

When she had gone to the bedroom late in night , Ram was already alseep. It was evident that he had been waiting for her, but his tiredness got better of him. Smiling inspite of herself, Priya too had gone to bed.

She did not have time in the morning also. Dadi & Rishabh were to leave by evening flight and hence priya was revolving around them. She was trying to manage all the tasks that can emerge only at 11th hour when you are about to travel, when she heard Ram calling her.

She went to room and started to look for the tie which apparently was the only one he could wear today!

He was looking at her, longingly. It was not the first time that he went away from her for few days. But that had not made him miss her any less. He had missed seeing her fresh, just -out-of-the-shower face every morning. He had missed being fascinated by her wet hair. He had missed the simple 'bye' she bid to him, when he dropped her to classes and the twinkle in her eyes when he returned back home. If days were difficult, nights had been unbearable. He had craved for warm hugs they shared, and longed for her passionate touch. Even more than that, he had missed sharing his day's happenings with her. These days, walking on grass, talking with her in the evening was biggest stress burster for him.

Now that he was back home, he wanted to spend time with her, but if only madam had time! He knew it wasn't exactly Priya's fault, but.. He couldn't help getting angry, like a child.

When Priya handed him the tie. Her apologetic smile was more than enough to melt him. He gently embraced her and wispered in soft tone

Can we go out for lunch togther, today?

Priya sighed, 'are.. dadi aur Rishab sham ko nikal rahe hai na.. Toh dopahar mai kaise aa sakti hu?'

She freed herself, and turned to go.. She paused at doorstep, and said with her trademark smile,

P : 'but that means, we can have dinner togther!'

Ram's face immidiately lightened with happiness

R : Really?

P : Promise!

Both of them went down to have breakfast with all. Suddenly Dadi said

'Priya puttar. kyu na tu aur chutaki bhi sath chalo. Isi bahane sabse mil logi. Teri chachiji Kab se mere pichhe padi hai, apni bahuo ko ghar kab lekar aaogi'

Priya choked on her apple and Nih almost fainted.

Now what? Priya looked at Ram, whose eyes were clearly saying 'Dare you leave me again'

But neither Priya nor Niharika could say anything in front of dadi..

Ram was again angry with Priya.. When he was going to office, she tried to talk to him, but he angrily shouted

'tumhe jo bhi karna hai karo.. Waise bhi expert ho na tickets manage karne mai.. jaao... Wapis aao to bata dena..'

And he strode out of the house without a backward glance.

Poor Priya! She was thinking what she could do, when suddenly her eyes fell on calendar. The date shown by calendar shocked her! How could she forget what day it was! she has been looking forward to this day. Significance of the day was a sweet secret and she has been waiting to share it with Ram. What can she do now?

It was 7 o'clock and Ram was still in office. He was in no hurry to leave and go to the empty room. He had not had the heart to go to the airport to see everyone off. He only called Rishabh and ensured that they were leaving safely. It was almost like he had forgotten how to live without Priya.

His mobile beeped, it was a sms from Priya.

'Still in office? Ghar jane ka irada hai bhi ya nahi?'

Ram replied

'Mai jau ya na jau.. Tumse matlab? Tum jao maje karo sabke sath'

As he hit sent button.. He realised something with a jolt. And he rushed to send another sms

'Wait wait.. How did you know that I'm still in office.?'

Priya's reply came promptly

'My dear husband seems to have forgotten that his wife loves to keep her promises...'

The cue was enough for him to rush home. When he reached home, he found it to be dark and empty. He called for Priya, but no response! Feeling dejected that he had misunderstood her, he went to their room. There was a note waiting for him on the bed. It said, in priya's handwritting

'Can I have the honour of dining with you tonight?'

Excited and bewildered, he went to kitchen, which to his dismay.. again empty!

But there was another note on the table

Mr. Unromatic aka Golu!

Only you can think of kitchen when your wife talks about a romantic dinner!!

-Waiting for you on terrace

If, a year ago, someone had told him that idea of having dinner in moonlight could be so exciting, he would have definately called him a fool. Smiling to his hearts content, he went to terrace.

The view greeted him was simply beautiful. Priya had arranged cushions on floor so that they can sit comfortably. Yellowish flame of a lonesome candle was adding a new element to the white moonlight. Nicely arranged food on plates was looking delicious and the smell was too much tempting. He was already hungry.

Still he couldn't see Priya anywhere. He was about to call her again, when she hugged him from behind, and rested her head on his back. He immediately turned back to take her into tight embrace. He was amazed once again that simple smell of her hair can have so much soothing effect on him, that nothing mattered to him at the moment, except for themselves and this togetherness.

Few moments passed by, and he asked her,

R : to.. Tum toh jane wali thi na dadi ke sath?

P : wo actually.. last moment pe bas ek hi extra ticket manage ho payi, toh sirf ma aur rishabh chale gaye..

Ram could not understand why her cheeks were getting red while telling this simple thing

So He asked

R : Really?

Priya hid her face into his chest before saying

'pata hai, being Mrs. Ram Kapoor, NOT getting a ticket is more difficult than getting one!'

He had always felt special when Priya made it clear that she belongs to him and he has right on her, more than anyone else. He did not say anything but tightened his arms around her saying a silent thank you..

They sat down to have dinner. It was a royal meal, all of Ram's fav. In first bite Ram realized that it was not Bansi kaka's work! He looked up, and said

'Don't tell me, after working so much y'day and today, you spent all the evening in the kitchen. What are the cooks for?'

Priya simply smiled at him. He took her hand and kissed it.

R : 'you always make me feel special.. Gudiya..'

P : 'not more than what you do for me.. My Prince!'

They smiled and and Priya proceeded to feed him off her spoon. It took too long for them to finish as they were talking more than eating..

They settled on couch after dinner over a cup of coffee. Priya remembered that she still hadn't gotten round to telling him about the occasion. She took out a box, and gave him.

R : what is it?

P : A gift!

Ram opened it. It was a wrist watch. He loved it at the first sight.

P : (anxiously) Sorry.. It's not costlier than the one you have right now, but I wanted to buy something using the money I earned!

Ram felt overwhelmed, almost intimidated. He could never get used to this feeling of being loved so much. He pulled her into hug, trying to put many unsaid things into it. And she did understand them. Words were never really mandatory in their relationship.

After a while, he asked to lighten the mood

R : so what is the occasion for the gift? Is it something special today?

P : yes, very special.. Can you remember what happened on this day a year ago?

Ram started to rack his brains. Its chhoti's b'day in few days. What happened a year ago?

R : Oh yeah.. I remembered. Didn't I take you to mah-gujrat border to fulfill your second wish? How beautiful the sunrise was!

P : yes.. Do you know? That was the day I realized how much I love you!

Ram was pleasantly surprised.. And Priya continued

P : The day I realized that I'm also special for someone. There is someone who can go till the end of the world to complete my silly wish. And I've found someone, for whom I care more than myself. That day, I wasn't afraid for my life.. But I was only afraid of going away from you.

By now, her eyes were moist & voice husky

Ram was touched. He moved closer to her and wiped off the single tear that had escaped from her eye..

R : Why didn't you tell me then?

P (smiling through tears) : I did! But the only response I got was your snores!

Ram laughed.

R : Damn my sleep! That could have saved us a big fight and what not!

P : Really? Does that mean you also loved me then?

R : Errr.. To be honest, I had not realized it then. I gave it name of care & concern, but it was and is love.

Do you know Why I can say that?

P : Why?

R: Remember choti's b'day party? When I corrected your bindi and you were standing there with eyes closed, I desperately wanted to lean in and kiss you! I would have done that., had vikram not chosen the precise moment to call me for the dance..

Priya was stumped for words. She looked briefly into his eyes before shying away because of his, and her own emotions. It looked like the night was getting more and more precious for them.

P : I never got round to telling you, I loved the way you danced.

R : So.. Will you dance with me, now?

Priya obliged only happily. She put her favourite song on her mobile..

Priya wanted the time to freeze as Ram held her very close..

Priya looked up.. As the song reached her most fav part..

Weren't these lines apt for them? They tried to run away from each other initially.. But it was destiny.. As if the whole world wanted them to unite!

As the song reached to its end, Ram lifted her face and did what he had refrained from doing, moments ago. It was not one of those passionate kisses, but a serene, soft touch saying 'I love you' without words.

They stood silent for a while, just taking in the beautiful moment.

Priya broke the silence after a while '

p: chalo neeche chale? Kafi der ho gayi hai..'

Ram did not want to end the moment yet. And he found an excuse instantly.

R : Don't we always say that those 6 days were most beautiful days of our life? So won't it be great if could re-live those moments?

P : means?

R : means muze tare ginane hai.. Abhi ke abhi..

And without listening to her protests.. He pulled her into open space, where they can see the sky clearly.

He glanced at sky. Then looked at Priya, and took her dupatta off her shoulders. She threw him a scandalized glance which he disregarded completely. Smiling his tounge-in-cheek smile, he spread the dupatta over floor and lied down. Priya smiled and turned to bring a cushion for herself. But Ram held her hand and said

R : c'mon.. perhaps we did not realise it last time, but I think this dupatta is enough for us.

Without saying anything more, Priya cuddled close to him and kept her head on his chest.

Ram was busy looking at the starry sky and actually trying to count them. He realized after sometime that Priya is gazing at his face, rather than the sky.

R : kyu? Aaj tare dekhne ka man nahi hai?

P : umm hu.. Kyu ki kise ne us waqt kaha tha ki khosoorat chije bas mehsoos ki jati hai..

Ram smiled sweetly..

P : Ram...

He was amazed once again to feel how special his name sounded in her voice.. If only she called him ram all the time!

She seemed hesitant in what she wanted to say.. So he helped..

R : Priya?

P : uumm... As far as re-living the past moments is considered, I would rather do all those things we left undone then...

It was his turn to run short of words, as he looked deep into her eyes. Soon, he realized he didn't need them, and he just kissed her once more, passionately this time!
