Thanks to all those who contribute to this thread... :)
It is never my intention to hurt anybody;s sensibilities... For me, its a serial...and while I enjoy it...I am unable to get emotionally involved... So I tend to try and find sense in it...atleast for myself...
A discussion...should always remain just that... it should never get personal or disrespectful...
I am thanful to Fivr for the inputs...
I would have loved to have replied to many of the points raised...But then...Does it matter...
We must learn to defend our pov's well...while keeping an open mind and listening to the other pov as well...To deliberately pick up points and twist them out of context...to degrade and insult the other...to show yourself as holier than thou...that is not correct...
To have a questioning mind...is a boon...how to seek answers...is an art...
I am always hurt by how soon and how fast people rise to the attack in the forum... So if someone says something against your favourite serial/actors...Is it going to go off the air????? will the cv's immediately change the storyline????...why are people so insecure about protecting "their serial/actors"????...
Serials/movies/books/theatre...all should / would always be critically examined...
Immdeiately an insulting tone is used...friends join in to side you against the enemy ...WHY?????
Again...I like a debate...as long as it is in good taste and healthy and with people who have an open mind... At no point did I ever intend it to be anything more than that... My apologies for the same...And once again...Thanks Fivr... :) Good day

You could watch a show regularly and still be annoyed by something that's being portrayed in the show - that is absolutely possible. And I don't think there is anything wrong with criticizing the basis of a show that you watch - it happens, it can happen. It doesn't make it unacceptable. It simply means that what was promised and what was delivered wasn't the same thing! And if someone wants to say that - that's fine! That doesn't mean that they shouldn't be watching a show.. They can watch the show, disagree with some key points in the show but still be entertained by the rest. That HAPPENS. 😕

The only thing that's happened here though, I feel, is the fact that in this case, the key criticism concerns Ram and Priya's character development which fans are finding hard to reconcile with. The criticism is probably based on the fact that what was promised of Ram-Priya and what they ended up being were two different things. That doesn't mean what they are now can't be entertaining for some people, but just that the same people can also find some grievances regarding the same. And I don't think that's so unacceptable or unfathomable at all. It's just their opinion and their prerogative.

Also, I am confident that the two comments in question here are being taken out of context. If we were to read the original post in entirety, I know that they go on to explain their statements. Now whether you agree with them or not, that's a whole other thing but I know they weren't generalizing as all rich men seeing "naked" women - they were hinting at how with the prevelance of nudity in society these days, it's hard to walk a mile without seeing someone dressed in something inappropriate to conservative sensibilities. And that RK being a businessmen who traveled around the world MUST have seen scantily dressed women so he should be more immune to it (not that I agree or disagree with this point - it's just what the member seems to be trying to say). And I'm sure they were trying to make a similar point with the covering-up-scene in question. I think we just need to be analytical about a post and really read it IN CONTEXT. Instead of just picking out key statements and getting upset by it. 😕

FIVR,
I just have one question. how come the thread starter talks about sanctity in marriage and then throws such loose statements. It would have been placed better if it was generalized about "naked" women in the society. Isn't RK been mentioned even by his friend Vikram(BFF) as someone who has been shy from women all his life???????????? And isn't it any different to see a random person vs your own wife in such clothes??
when a simple post could have such loose ends.. I think a serial that runs long can have some loose ends and scripts too!

I am not sure I can speak for the topic starter here but generally speaking, sanctity of marriage and living in a non-conservatively dressed society are not related at all. You could still believe in the sanctity of marriage but be exposed to women and their bodies in the least conservative manner. And if it's just a matter of asking why Ram is still so awkward around women, I don't believe it questions his shy nature or his respectful behavior towards women and his wife. He could be shy/respectful/dignified towards women and he could do ALL that without making the caricature-ish faces in the process. The "eews" and the disgusted faces is what I am assuming the topic starter is talking about. But for that you'll have to ask her.. 😆

And I agree with you that a serial that runs for a long time is allowed to have loose ends and scripts. But that also means that everyone and anyone is allowed to QUESTION and CRITICIZE those loose ends. 😊

Once again... Thanks Fivr... You seem to have understood what I was trying to say... Maybe we are long lost kumbh mela siblings...:)

I shan't reply to all the many who wrote here... To avoid a tu-tu main main situation...

I am one episode behind you guys... But simply couldn't resist posting a new comment...

I have rarely seen anything more cheesy than what they showed on BALH... In their need to show what a great guy our Ram is... His explanation for his taking pills... Takes the cake... If he was so worried about people dependent in him... Wouldn't he control the diet?????? Isn't he educated enough to know that that's a double whammy... Eating unhealthily and then compounding his health issues by pumping pills in his body...he does have major underlying health issues... Hospitalization befor their marraige and chest pains recently...

Wasn't his explanation given with the intention of self-glorification????? And Priya accepted it by going all emotional????? Gosh... It actually reminded me of a drug addict justifying his addiction by giving a sob story of lost/lack of love etc... And when they showe him having withdrawal symptoms... I was like... :)

To all those who love the serial and swear by the character of Ram/Priya... Sorry...:)
