Shubh turns gray in Babul ka Aangan

Be ready for yet another twist in the story line of Babul ka Aangan. Siddharth Shukla who plays Shubh in the serial says that his character will soon turn negative as he will begin to doubt and suspect his wife Aastha.

"Aastha is expecting now and Shubh wants her to abort the child as he suspects that this is not his child.Aastha refuses to do that. So now he is trying his best to kill the child himself," says Siddharth about his new character.

"Aastha is carrying Swayam's child hence Shubh some how wants to kill it… he's now trying to make her lose her mental balance. After that he will get her kidnapped and will try all sorts of things to harass her. He has also kept someone who keeps a watch on her 24 x 7," says Siddharth.

Ratna, the producer of the show says, "Aastha is presently facing many problems. She is supported by her whole family but Shubh is torturing her so that she loses her child. Aastha will come out of it and this will finally lead to another twist. All I can tell you is that this child is not Swayam's, it is Shubh's only and he will realize this later!"

So all Babul ka Aangan fans get ready for a fortnight of twists and turns.

Confusion over Swayam's re- entry

With many television soaps ready to take new twists and turns, Babul ka Aangan will also be back with a bang. Swayam (Rahil Azam), who was killed by his wife Payal 3 months back, will return to the show soon.

"I can't talk about it as nothing has been finalized as of now," says a tightlipped Azam.

However, Raahat, who is the creative head of the show, informs us, "We are still thinking over this and it will soon be finalized. However, we can't talk on how will he enter and as what as we are still to figure out that".

Ratna Sinha, the producer on the other hand has denied any such re-entry but assures us saying that 'there will be a new entry very soon'.

Swayam's entry in the show worked previously as he kept entertaining the viewers by his mysterious dance sequences and interesting appearance. He was finally murdered by his wife Payal about 3 months back, and who is now behind the bars for the same led to the dipping TRP's.

Presently, the track shows that Aastha who is expecting is going through many problems as her husband Shubh suspects that she is carrying Swayam's child. "After this mystery gets solved and as soon as things become fine between both of them, Swayam will come back to ruin Aastha's life," informs a source.

Swayam's re-entry will be brought back by the first week of January.

Navni Parihar was not seen much on TV for the past six years — barring two to three episodics that she did in that time and some

commercials.

Now she's back to her passion — acting in the show Babul ka Aangann Chutey Na playing the role of a doting mother and mother-in-law. Ask her about the long break and she says, "I didn't want to do daily soaps because I'd never attempted one earlier. I'd heard that daily soaps were very taxing and I was uncertain about the shooting schedules," says Navni, adding, "I had family commitments and I didn't want to take up anything that made it difficult to manage my home and my career. I have two young daughters and a very busy husband." Being a creative person, she spent her time indulging in creative pursuits like sketching, painting and dancing.

She continues, "Acting is my passion but it's not my bread and butter. So when Babul... was offered to me, I took it up simply to try out whether it works, as now my daughters are grown up. It was a bit difficult initially but I'm managing beautifully now."

Navni rues that she has the image of a serious actress whereas she would love playing all sorts of characters. "I love playing negative characters as they are more challenging and have different shades and you can perform a lot. A positive role is difficult because you have to be goody-goody all the time." And what about comedy? "I like situational comedies but nobody's offered me such roles. I'm very shy to approach people for roles. I can't even ask my friends for that favour. It's not that I'm proud but I'm an introvert and it takes time for me to open up. And that's the reason I need creativity to express myself," says the actress whose ultimate goal is to do social work and help disabled children.

Sana Saeed gets ready for her exams

Sana Saeed who plays the lead in Lo Pooja Ho Gayi Iss Ghar Ki plans to take a break from her show starting next month. The actress says she needs the time off to prepare for her final year exams.

"I have to appear for my exams in January end so I will be taking a off for ten days. Then again in March I will take a break for 15-20 days as my final exams are there. I have already informed my production house about it and they are fine with it," says Sana.

The actress says that she is not leaving the show permanently as is currently being rumoured. "I will decide what to do after my exams…whether to do my majors in advertising here in Mumbai or abroad. But right now I am not leaving the show at this moment," Sana clarifies.

Speaking about child labour laws being flouted on telly sets, Sana (who herself played Anjali in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai) feels that today's child artists are pressurized.

"It is very difficult to do a daily soap for child artist…like I still find it quite hectic to manage my studies and acting but I am doing it because it is my hobby. However it is completely dependent on the child's parents like how they are taking care of the child's education and whether the child is being given enough time to enjoy other activities also like playing with friends and everything."

"I never gave up my basket ball practice and grew up doing whatever any child is supposed to do. I used to shoot only during holidays. I will not call it a bad call from the Government to consider child artist as child labour. Shooting for 8-10 hours is not a joke and it is too much for any kid who 10-11 years old. They will enjoy this fame now and will not realize that what they are actually missing out and when they will realize it will be too late," she adds.

I am a safe dresser, says Shalini Khanna
by Vidhya Krishnan
Dec 18, 2008, Bangalore

Did you say you wanted fashion and style truths from your favourite TV stars? Well, Tellywatch aims to please, so here's Shalini Khanna with her views on fashion and a few style titbits thrown in for good measure.

Fashion to me is…anything that suits you and that you can carry off well.

Brands that I dig…I go for Mango but I am not all that brand conscious and opt for anything that makes me feel comfortable and stylish.

At home, you would find me lounging in…shorts or pyjamas with a T-shirt.

My gym wear is…I am not much of an exercise freak; I prefer tracks and T-shirts.

Formal look to me is…it depends on the occasion. I prefer a nice short dress or saris, salwars or any nice Indian wear.

Casual look for me is…shorts, jeans and T-shirts.

My party ensemble is…nice top with jeans or short dress.

My classic style statement is…something in black.

Indian designers that I follow…I like Ritu Kumar's work collection.

The ultimate style icon to me is…Kangana Ranaut and Salman Khan.

A must-have in my purse is…credit card, sheer lip gloss and perfume.

My party look for the season is…short dresses with nice cuts.

The perfume that is my signature statement…'Elizabeth Arden', 'Cool Water'.

The colours of this season…I am not so much into colours and I go for colours that suit me irrespective of the season. It is important to choose colours that go well with your skin complexion.

I'm a fashion junkie when it comes to…not really; I like to look neat, classic and understated rather than going overboard.

My most expensive dress is…it is Indian wear – a lehenga from 'Seasons' that cost me 20,000.

My most embarrassing fashion faux pas is…I can't remember. I am a safe dresser and don't try out wild things because there is less chance of making mistakes.

My fashion statement for the season is…be yourself and let not fashion take you over rather than you taking it over.

Remember to keep checking back our site to get insights into the styles of the TV stars.

Bad boy or good boy?

Siddharth Shukla who plays a baddie in the show Babul ka Aangan Chootey Naa loves every bit of the role because he feels that it gives him the stimulus to work hard.

"I'm loving it. In fact I love it even more than when I was playing a good boy," he says. Acting apart, Siddharth is also very fond of biking. A few days ago, while he was enjoying a bike ride at Worli, some kids recognised him. They ran upto him and and asked him for a ride. The actor obliged without making any fuss and he took not one or two kids but all the kids for a ride on his bike. The children were all excited and thanked the actor. Says Siddharth, "I believe that making a child happy is like making God happy. You don't need to go to a temple if you take care of children." Wow Sid! Maan gaye!

It's Kiran Dubey's turn to say 'TGIF'
by Vidhya Krishnan
Dec 19, 2008, Bangalore

It is a huge relief for most of us when the weekend approaches. It is just as much a relief for TV stars since their hectic schedules load up their week. For our weekend column 'TGIF' (Thank God it's Friday), Kiran Dubey talks about her weekend plans, among other things.

My plans for this weekend…I have just been waiting for the weekend. I will be travelling out of India in the last week of this month, so I need to get some pending personal stuff done before that. I would prefer watching a movie as well but I am scared to go out these days because of the present scenario. I am also thinking of buying a new car because it has been a while since I changed it. I may go to a park for a walk or do some yoga and I am thinking of doing some shopping as well. I would also like to visit my friend's place.

My weekends are…I am more of a home person. If I can be close to nature, then I would definitely opt for that. But going out for movies and shopping would get second preference to staying at home. I am quite lazy to move out.

An ideal weekend for me…it depends on my state of mind. Sometimes I like to be by myself and do stuff like having ice creams, reading and at other times, I act according to my moods.

Indoors or outdoors for me…I am more of an indoor person.

A no-no on weekends…I don't like to be with people whom I am not fond of.

One crazy thing that I would like to do on a weekend…My parents stay in Dehradun and there is no direct flight to that place from Mumbai. You have to go to Delhi first and then take a flight from there. I wish I could give them a surprise visit some weekend.

Keep checking this space to know more about what your favourite TV stars are up to on their weekends.
