next day commenced soon and swayam set out to find aastha's number... as in many ways before, swayam wooed his mom and got it which he passed on to shubh. shubh called aastha the very instant and asked her if they could meet at the coffee shop for breakfast... he knew aastha felt awkward coz it was evident in the way she replied 'okay'!
in a few moments, shubh was ready in a pair of blue denims and a pure white shirt... swayam shook his head in exasperation...
swayam: tu sagaai todne jaa rahe hai ya line maarne???
shubh looked confused: kyu???
swayam: aise handsome banke jaayega toh kaunsi ladki sagaai todne ki baat se maanegii???
shubh: shut up bhaiyya! main jaa raha hoon
swayam grinned: theek hai chal! all the best!!!
shubh grinned back at him and hopped on into his red sports car and drove towards the cafe... he got out n found a corner spot and sat... he ordered for a cup of coffee while he waited for her... he scanned the neighboorhood tables... nothing intrested him... he thought about aastha,,,, how she looked yesterday nite... she is defenitely pretty and traditional... but she is not the one for him... from the first look she looked like she could be the one for him but the more he thought... he thought maybe he could be right...
as he was lost in thoughts... he dint hear the faint tinkling over the cafe door as aastha made her way in... she looked around and spotted shubh... she walked over to him but he dint realize her presence till she was only a few steps away from him... he looked at her and intook a deep breath... she looked so ethereal... she was in a knee length sleeveless white dress... her beauty mesmerized him... but suddenly he caught on and abruptly stood up and flashed a sheepish smile... she smiled back at him too...
being the gentleman he made her take her seat and then sat himself... they both were at a loss where to begin this conversation...
shubh cleared his throat: anything to drink or eat???
aastha: i will take an orange juice...
shubh: okay
and he placed the order... the juice arrived in a few moments...
shubh: look aastha... maine tumhe yaha ek zaroori baat karne ke liye bulaaya tha...
aastha: haan bolo shubh
shubh: tum toh jaanti hi ho humare iss sagai ka plan humse pooche thay kiya tha
aastha looked on... thinking "nahi shubh"
shubh: hum ek doosre ko jaante tak nahi... phir hum ek doosre ke saath zindagi bhar kaise reh sakte hai???
aastha looked down... she knew this was coming.... she had hoped it wont but now that its staring at her in the face, she couldnt help hide her tears...
shubh: aastha tum... samajh rahi ho na main kya keh raha hoon??? hum dono ek doosre ko jaane bina kaise shaadi karenge??? mujhe lagta hai behtar yahi hoga ki hum iss sagaai ko thod de...
aastha looked up tears welled in her eyes... but there was nothing else she could do... she dint want this to happen this way... not after... not after...
SHE HAD ALWAYS LOVED HIM... n now... when they were engaged... he wants to break it off... but she couldnt say no to shubh... he is the one she loved since she knew what love was... anything he asks for, she would give up her life to do it...
she quickly wiped her tears and smiled at shubh who was starting to look concerned...
aastha: you are right shubh... lets call it off...
shubh still looked at her... he could see the hurt in her eyes...he wanted to held her and comfort... but before he could do or say something...
aastha: shubh mujhe jaana hoga... bahut zaroori kaam hai.... see ya then!! main mama paapa se baat karungi... dont worry, okay???
she smiled again and left through the door... he felt as if the color and light in his life fade as she moved away..... he paid n left the place too...
all he could think in the car is "had he done the right thing...???"
