I'm still not sure whetehr Murli's fear relates to their physical intimacy or possible pregnancy complications. If he thinks he would hurt her if they were intimate, would he have not known that when they were together the first time? Why should he react after he had the conversation with the doc.

@opti, my qestion exactly...is it the fear of hurting bharti due to physical intimacy or the possible pregnancy complications???

from the last scene, and his dialogue, my understanding is that he is afraid of her getting pregnant. he thinks that her pregnancy will be fatal...and in order to avoid it, he shrugs every action of intimacy.
thats just weird thinking and his approach to handle it, is really flawed...

But the initial episode after the SR suggested that he thought Bharti wasn't capable of a sharirik sambhand with him because of her size. Remember he says 'Even though you maybe 21 (?) years old, your body isn't' Or something to that affect.
So, which is it? Or are we to assume that one is the natural progression of the other and so his fear has gone from to the other too?
Or are the CV's just throwing everything into the mix to rinse out as much drama as possible?
Or is it, as I suspect, CV's are working on one brain cell between them!😡

True, that is why I am confused. If he feels her physical stature is the problem for their intimacy, would he have not realised it when he was intimate with her the first time? He would not have been able to go all the way. Why did it take a second visit to a doctor who had not even examined Bharti for him to come to this conclusion? I also did not understand why would the first doctor ask Bharti whether they were intimate the previous night when Bharti had gone to her with complaint of a fever. I didn't think that normal doctors would have such suspicions unless one gives specific complaints which suggests that this indeed was the problem.

Like you I too suspect that they are working on one brain cell between them.

Well, if I was confused before, I'm even more so after todays epi! 😕

From my pov i think that after SR2 he started thinking that he may have HURT her without knowing it. In that fear he avoided every type of intimacy.
Then she started talking about pregnancy and he went psycho thinking that she could DIE of it.

After todays epi, I thought the same thing. Initially fear of hurting her physically stopped him from getting close. In order for Bharti to get pregnant he has to get close to her obviously.
One is a consequence of the other.
But I don't remember either doctor ever saying that a sharirik sambhand was detrimental to her health. Granted the first doctor didn't talk to him, but the second stressed twice that she didn't think this was a problem with Bharti. Or rather that just because some people have this problem, doesn't automatically mean she will too.
Oh my head hurts from all this!

SO TRUE ! AAAH i'm so upset!

When Murli told her "listen bharti, the doc said me that it's not good for you to get intimacy" i was literally screaming at my screen "YOU'RE LYING TO HER, okay you're afraid and all but right now YOU'RE LYING and INTERPRETING in a WRONG WAY what the doc say"

And on the other part we have Bharti that doesn't know about that second doctor and she is now thinking that the first doc REALLY DID say that to him.

So even if both of the doc said there was NO problem, now, both Murli and Bharti are convinced that there is a physical BARRIER.

Exactly, he completely took the doctors words out of context. She never expressly said that Bharti's body was incapable of managing intimacy. Murli has made a mountain out of a molehill and achieved exactly what I posted earlier.
I am posting it below again, because I think this is exactly what has happened.
No matter how much some people may protest that physical intimacy is not the be all and end all of a relationship, there is no denying that it is a very important element.
I'm not talking about just the act of love-making, but also the need to be close, intimate and affectionate in a tactile way.
When you allow that between yourself and someone else, you make a statement about what that person means to you. How you see them and their worth.
If you are not completely comfortable with someone by any means of the term, you would not let them invade your personal space like that.
So to have that taken away not only hurts, but also makes one question themselves, unwittingly.
It makes you question your validiity as a human being, as a person, as a man or a woman.
In Bharti's case that questiona is magnified by about a zillion times!
Murli may be trying to protect his wife from being hurt physically or going through any physical hardship. But the emotional and psychological effects of his behaviour are far more cruel.
Inadvertently, unknowingly and unintentionally perhaps, but Murli is raising all kinds of questions in Bharti's head about who and what she is.
We have the luxury of knowing that this is a fictional tale and so eventually the CV's will write the 'happily ever after' ending we all want.
But my heart goes out to all those in the real world, whose lives don't play out like a tv show and who may not get the happy ending because of such issues.
And while I applaud the writers for bringing up the issue, I have huge reservations about their manner of dealing with it. Communication between two people at the heart of the story is non-existent, and we are seeing it's effects.
And this worries me. TV has a huge influence on the way we think and live. Positively, or negatively, there's no getting away from the fact that it does. And these desi serials have an even bigger influence. I have seen it. I have lived it.
So CV's (and all tv in general) need to be careful about the kind of messages they send out to the masses. They may not realise it or even want the responsibility, but the truth of the matter is sometimes, people out there unknowingly wait to be guided by them on how they should live their lives.

I agree that Murli has blown this out of proportion. He believes and has also made Bharti believe that they have problems being intimate with each otehr because of her physical stature.

I wonder whether deep down in his subconscious mind he still has that mental block about being intimate with some one half his size. He may love her deeply for her goodness. He may even find her attractive but he may not feel the strong urge or desire a man would normally feel for his wife. Yes, he did have intimacy with her but he could have achieved that in just a moment when he temporarily suspended his thought process. When she fell ill the next morning and the first doctor asked her whether they were intimate, he kept repeatedly asking why she was asking the question.

While on the surface his apprehensions may have stemmed out of genuine concern for her well being, I wonder whether in his sub-conscious mind he was looking for an excuse to take intimacy out of their equation. That is why he is hearing what he subconsciously wants to hear irrespective of what the first or the second doctor said. He has latched on to a vague excuse based on something the second doctor mentioned and that too in some other context. The worst part is he himself does not realise what he is doing for he still believes his intentions are honourable.
