What made Simran's mother-in-law to change her hatred towards Simran and start liking her?

I guess after she saw how horribly Kiran treated her she began to compare Simran and Kiran and realized that Simran was a much better human being since she had never been rude to Abhi's parents, even though she had treated Simran badly. Also when Kiran left Abhi, Abhi's mom felt that it was because she had wronged Simran, that all this had happened with her son.
