u will have to confirm this cos i'm not 100% sure....but was it a poem from college that manas had written and that had appeared in the college year book or something? Ashwin then went on to stress that the poem had the word "simiran" or "sumiran" thereby indicating that manas and simran were in love during their college days also, and that the friendship between the 2 was just a show in front of people. By doing this, Ashwin wanted to drive a wedge (or, in fact increase the distance already there) between urmila and manas...
