Hi Friends

Astitva is over in India, but we are all here, to complete our MOW thread. Please do continue to contribute in the MOW threads, as these threads will run only for another 2-3 weeks...

Speaking of the MOW for this week, she is none other than.........

Akshata

Akshata is another Viewbie for this Section. She has given us some thought provoking posts, has a very nice way of putting things in an argument. We all have loved her posts, missed her and her posts when she was away..

Akshata is 40 years old, married for 19 long years now!!! Phew!! She has a son who is 18 years old.

She has mostly been a Housewife, but has done some Voluteering work as Teacher in Schools.

She loves good music , reading, Scrabble and Crosswords are her favourites. She loves her sarees, likes to cook, enjoys Badminton, and offlate, writing...

She has very noble thoughts about Charity, she believes that every Human Being must do some kind of Charity work towards mankind...

So with this little bit of intro on her, can we move ahead to ask her our questions?

Here is the customary start from me....

Thank you Sree. You know I agreed to this rather reluctantly. With Innocentindian first, and then me,the forum is going to think this is a senior citizen month or something 😉 Sorry II,you know what I mean. There are so many young folks out there in such interesting professions,I'm not sure how I am going to fare here.I promise to give it my best shot.
So,here I go.

Name:Akshata

Age:41

Profession:Homemaker

How did you come across IF:The same way as most of you did....looking for some information on Astitva.

What do you like the most here:The fact that I can express myself and get to know different points of view.

What is the change you will love to make here:This one is for Vijay to consider 😉 ...All posts with bad language should get blocked automatically. But then what work would viewbies and moderators have??? 😊

Your journey thro' Astitva, the serial: Wonderful until Dr. Simran went blind...after that I could not digest anything that was dished out to us.

Thanks again Sree...can't tell you how nervous I am.I'll try to be prompt and as candid as possible.

Hi Akshata, Congrats on being a MOW!! Nice to see you here and I am glad you accepted the offer!

Why do you think you are senior? 😆 Both you and ii are young:-) I am the youngest in my group (early 30s) and all my colleagues at work are older than I am - between 39 and 50 and full of life and very interesting! I am sure you are no different..:-)

How do you like Hong Kong? Do you visit India often?

Have you done the Sudoku puzzles? Do you like it?

Hi Askshata,
I have always admired your quote - " I believe in God, only I spell it Nature".

Where are you from in India?
What is the toughest job of being a home maker?
Do you believe that you now need to be a friend to you son?
Do you love nature? If so, what do you do, in order to preserve the beauty of it?

Hopefully I will come back later with more questions.

Honestly,I don't feel "old".Just thought the young members might feel like that. You are very encouraging.Infact when I did my Library Science,I was 35.The professor and I were the same age.The other students and I had a great time. With most of them I never felt the age difference. One is what one feels, right?

How do you like Hong Kong? Do you visit India often?

Initially,I did not.It has grown on me.Now I love it as I have realised that I am fortunate to be able to enjoy the best of both worlds. We have the comforts of the developed countries and the culture of Asian countries, which is not too different from our own.

I visit India atleast once a year.
Have you done the Sudoku puzzles? Do you like it?

Have attempted a few times, but found it tough.Plan to try again.

Thank you for your questions.

Good to read about your thoughts. Yes, I too have seen, one is how old as he or she feels.. I have seen some people in their 20s and early 30s behaving like Grannys and seen people much older who are so much more youthful and full of life..

In what way is Hong Kong similar to India in culture? Is it the way they handle relationships or the way they relate to parents and elders or something else?

Thanks Vasantha, isn't that your name?. Yes, I firmly believe that the whole universe is the manifestation of God himself.

Where are you from in India?

Mumbai before marriage,then Pune.

What is the toughest job of being a home maker?

Tough question. Keeping everyone happy without sacrificing one's own happiness so that at the end of the day there is satisfaction not resentment.
Do you believe that you now need to be a friend to you son?

Yes,very much.Especially because he is an only child I have to play the role of a mother, friend and a sibling,if I can say so. By friend I don't mean he can talk loosely or actually think of me as an equal, but be someone he can come and talk to freely and enjoy mundane things in life together.
Do you love nature? If so, what do you do, in order to preserve the beauty of it?

Yes I love nature in the sense that I love things that are real and natural.I can spend hours by the sea side,or mountains.I have never had artificial plants or flowers(HKG is famous for this art)in the house. I love to have flower arrangements in the house even when there is no occasion.

I am not part of any organization but I try to do my bit as an individual.I try to use eco friendly items in day to day life. I can cite one example. Last year for Ganesh Chaturthi,we brought an idol of Ganpati made out of re cycled paper instead of the traditional clay. It dissolves well in the sea water and does not mess up the beaches after the immersion.

Thank you for your questions. Look forward to hearing again from you.
