None!!!! haha, u see, I was born in Uganda, which i left in exodus from there...then went to USA for 3 years and then came to UK....Your next question may be the difference between the other places and UK? well, loads!....Leaving Uganda, I was too young so can;t say much, but apparently it was such an easier life....USA, well, the people there minded their own business a bit more...In UK, things are a bit more claustrophobic, not so in USA...USA has more opportunities than UK...the weather in USA is LOADS better...etc etc etc 😊

I have mostly seen that guys didnt like Astitva as it was more of drama and emotions, what do you think?

ummmmm, nope... I disagree....I know many males that see astitva....in fact, i reckon out of the male Indian daily TV audience, most of them probably watch only astitva as opposed to the kekta stuff..mainly cos AEPK is (or was! pre-leap!) a much more realistic and sober program to watch than the other over-dramatic stuff out there...😛

You may ask why do the males not post here....then that's cos they haven't found it! and also cos prob don't have the time....I only started becoming more regular a few months after joining, and that's cos there was a point I had more time...now I don't, but I'm hooked!!!!😉

Why did you decline to Sree request for MOW earlier and why did you accept now when Astitva is over and very few membres are visiting this forum? I hadn't calculated that way at all....as it happens, I had the time during the xmas hols when kruts was in the hot seat and i should;ve done it then, but i thought i may be going to India...that didn't materialise, but then it was too late to join here...that's all...also, i thought i should do it whilst the program is on....no other reason, just convenience...😊

naaah, what's the point in lying? arranged...don't object to it neither....

let's take the simran-abhi case...theirs was a love marriage - both times!,, yet in each case, the cracks appeared cos of both their parents...first abhi's mum, and then saurabh....These are things all couple should be vigilant of whether married cos of love, or arrangement....personally, I think arranged marriages can and do lead to love...it has with me..though I have absolutely nothing against love marriages...(i see I got carried away and answered a load more than asked 😳😆)

How is the Indian community in UK?

Very close knit actually....u can bump into Indians everywhere..but more so in London as opposed to UK 😉

Do you have Indian cultiral programs there?

Yep, loads!!!! The Indian community in UK has evolved well over the last 30+ years here...They have their own standing and this is becoming stronger and stronger...👏

Are the Indians close to each other or do they avoid Indians? Bit of both I suppose, but my opinion and understanding is that they are generically close..

Well, 'm a lil sad today after watching the last episode of Astitva but guess this thread will cheer me up.

Oh I hope so....ya, astitva ending is certainly sad for us astitvans, but I think it really did need to, so at least that's good...seems as if they have ended it in an adequate manner at least...lots of loose ends were left untied, but a lot of people who saw the last episode seemed to have liked it, albeit they were sad, just like u...😭

Here are my questions for the moment:

1. Which other serials do you watch/like?

None.....and have no intention to neither....These things take up too much time....Mind u, I may watch another one if Niki were to be in it, and her character portrayal was as good as the one she did of Dr. Simran...but no plans to watch anything else....However, I have become an avid fan of SRGMPA!!!👏😛

2. Since you like reading, who is ur fav author and which is ur fav book?

You know what? There are so many!!!!....also, I don't read as much as I did in my younger days....no time nowadays....the last one i read was the latest harry Potter and before that the Da Vince Code....both were more than excellent, and I suppose at the top of my head, both books and authors are at the top end of my list 😊

3. Which geren of books excites u the most? (please do not say VB for Dummies, VB in 21 days and the sort 😆 ) Lol 😆 no, I definitely wont!....I suppose I enjoy detective stories most(have read the whole sherlok holmes series)...and perhaps with a dash of romance and comedy mingled into the storyline would make it ideal.. 👏

So, how often do you visit India?? Which places in India do you visit often?

The most I went in 1 year was 5 times! 😊That only happened once....I like to go more than once a year,😛 but this time I haven't been for like 19 months, and it really biting...😭 Various places, but mainly Gujarat I suppose....wifes family is settled there and we tend to go there...only distant relative still live at the place my family hails from, so don't go there much....but we do tend to do a lot of travelling around india as well...All over india...

I see that you are a big fan of Niki:-) Oh yes!!!! 😉😛😆 Of course that was no secret right from day 1 for me😉.

OK, what is it in Simran's character that you really like - let's talk of the pre-leap Simran as the post leap does not have much story or character😆.

I think the way she was always willing to see beyond the surface...the way she always tried to understand the situation at another level....cos only then could she forgive her mother-in-law...(the MIL of all MILS i call her 😉)...the way she still watched out for abhi after all the immaturity he had displayed...her platonic friendship with manas was endearing...her soft-spoken manner (I bet Dr. Simran didn't drink that much beer!!!😉)...annd last but not least, her exquisite beauty...😛...that's it in a nut-shell I suppose...But please ask more on this cos I'm sure I've left much out...😃

Hope u don't mind but definitely do not want to divulge...I'll give my name at the end of this thread but not theirs....I have pet names (loads of 'em!!!!), but 1 set I will tell u is Tikku for my daughter and Dikku for my son...

Do you play shuttle or with ball? I really hope u r talking about badminton! Shuttle.....cos that's all u can play badminton with....😛 I used to play tennis and football and cricket when i was at school ...used to play all the time...and those were with ball 😉

Which sections in IF do you visit? None!....only come here cos of u sree! 😛...I have actually gone to the SRGMPA section, but as someone said, it was a bit too aggressive...also, it as very fast....way too much posting there to follow...😕

Given the dork i am, i do know the answer to this one 😃 so i will answer this before discussing the previous answers you had posted. Basically, the sun is in Makar rashi at this time of the year. So it is called makarsankranti by some. Other people call it Uttarayan. The reason is that the wind supposedly changes the direction from southbound to northbound today. In Mahabharat, Bhishma had the boon of "ichha mrityu" and he waited until uttarayan in order to die so that he could go straight to moksha. It is said that in all holy things flow from south to the north, that is why your house should never face south direction because it means that you are going towards something un-pious (vaastushastra). So in short, uttarayan signals the change of the direction of the sun and the wind - which comprise of two main elements in hindu philosophy (fire and air). Thus, in gujarat people celebrate by flying kites (wind worship) and in some other parts of the country also, there are celebrations (pongal i believe falls around this time of the year, for instance).
