Wish you a very Happy Birthday in advance 😛

Its really fun to read the interesting asnwers u r giving especially beauty tips 😳

Looking forward for the answers Minnie, enjoy the Hot Seat 👍🏼

Hi Rubina, thank you so much for your lovely wishes !!!😳

1) Which is ur favourite fragrance?

I am fond of woody and spicy fragrance, nothing sweet or too strong for me. I love Primo and White Must for women. I also like Celene Dion and Yves Saint Laurent.

2) Who's the favourite of ur children, ur hubby or u?

My hubby, hands,legs, torso down !!! 😭

I am the disciplinarian, hence the villain. And everytime my husband finds something aggravating with regards to them, he simply turns around and just utters one word - 'MINIIEEEEEE'.......I guess you got the picture !!!😡

3) I wish if I could have told you the naughty incident of my childhood but can u share one with us 😃 (as I can guess from ur answers that u used to be a naughty child 😛 )

heheheh, well, there were so many....which one to tell.....

I had a cousin who boasted no end of his bravery everywhere. He was such a big mouth.....and to top it, he took special pleasure in teasing me😡

Once when we were visiting them, some old lady in the neighbourhood died. There was a lot of talk of ghosts and souls and what not.

While everyone was fast asleep, I wrapped a white sheet and went to where he was sleeping and sprinkled some water on him. I guess he was already a bit edgy with all that talk of ghosts so simply woke up and then saw a figure in complete white standing in the dark right over him....😈

Well, you can imagine what happened after that. Though I got a nice pull at my loooooong choti at the hands of my irate Mom, all my cousins just doubled up laughing.

Unfortunately, even after that he wasn't cured of his boasting...😆

4)whats ur husband zodiac sign?

He is a scorpio, complete with the deadly sting😳

5)Which is ur favourite picnic spot?

Any place with a water body, soft grass and a play area for kids does fine for me. In east coast, I love the parks in Vermont.

In India, I love the picnic areas around Mulshi Dam...that place is awesome.

Oh yes, I loved Enid Blyton. Beside her famous fives, I loved all her work. I remember reading Shadow the Sheep dog a dozen times when I was in Std 5th. And the story is still etched in my mind. You can say it was my first real brush with the make believe world of written words where words could make you laugh, cry, suffer in pain, feel the joy.....Till then my reading world consisted of Phantom and his advenrures, along with mandrake, Rip Kirby, Bahadur,or the unbeatable Amar Chitra Kathas....though I wish the comics had not vanished all so suddenly !!😭

M.M Kaye resulted in my first eye check up 😆 well, trying to finish a 1000 odd pages in dim light of a night lamp after the whole house is asleep does not bode well for the eyes; My father was a stickler about being on time, so everyone went to bed at 10.30 and slept, not read books keeping the ears tuned in for the creaks....😆

M.M Kaye's Far Pavilions fascinated me and so did the Shadow of the Moon and Trade Winds. Though I found her murder mysteries a poor second to Agatha Christie.

It was work.

I was not too impressed with the weather to tell you the truth, as at times I found it too hot, especially during the summer. Though it was ideal to take a dip or go for a stroll in the evenings. I feel of all the places that I have stayed the weather of Pune in India is the best .

I like the east coast, though I too am not very fond of this intense cold, but it's better than the horrible sweting heat, any time. With proper attire it can even be fun to be out in the cold, or just cozy up under a blanket and sip hot teaa/cofee and have some munchies; The summer and the swealtering heat of course is a different matter all together. Nothing seems to work then. I simply hate hot climate.

Yes, for me too Enid Blyton was the author who actually developed a passion for reading in me! And yes, Agatha Christie was great as well..

Did you try reading Gone with the Wind (since you have read a few thick books)?

I too was excited by the cold initially. However after 6-7 years I just end up get impatient by the time February comes especially since it means traveling out to work in the cold and I have a long commute. And the short days. The thing is in the east coast, we face both extremes, heat and cold.. I guess I am more of an outdoor person and so that almost becomes nil in Winters which is one of the major reasons I don't like the cold..Also, my skin is kind of dry to begin with and I really suffer in the winters.. Yes, I have heard Pune is great for weather..Hopefully we will move to a place in India with moderate weather.😃

But you may like it since there are weather variations and this maybe a good change for you as you don't dislike the cold. Good luck in your new home (Maybe not so new by now)!

Are you in CT?

Are you a party going sort of person or you prefer being with company you are close to?

OK, a question on skin now😃 I find when I work late I sometimes start developing dark circles under my eye. Is there anyway to prevent or cure that? I guess there is no short cut but any habit that may help?

Well, truthfully speaking the cold is aggravating and it's not really romantic after a while but well, as I said I just prefer it to the heat. I get terrible headaches in the sun, so that cud be one reason for my aversion.

We too hope to settle down in Pune whenever we go back to India.

Now for the questions:

Are you in CT?

Nopes, now in NJ for a short while but shall be moving in to MA shortly.

Are you a party going sort of person or you prefer being with company you are close to?

I love going to parties, dressing up, meeting new people and just having a nice time. But small gathering with close friends where I can really let my hair loose is really what I look forward to. However, I don't like either of them too frequently because in my heart I love spending time just with my family and just chatter wth them till the wee hours.

OK, a question on skin now😃 I find when I work late I sometimes start developing dark circles under my eye. Is there anyway to prevent or cure that? I guess there is no short cut but any habit that may help?

As you said, no long term solution.

Chilled used tea bags are highly effective. Simply put them over ur eyes and lie down for 10 min.

The famous cucumber and potato slices are really very effective.

Take two large cotton balls dipped in a generous amount of rose water, lie down and put them over ur eyes. Keep them for 10 minutes.

Lack of sleep, long hrs in front of pc, stress are the common causes of dark circles. Straight 8 hrs of sleep for a few weeks can solve the problem, though I guess this one is the toughest of all the solutions mentioned.

Do some light eye excercises:

1) keep a pen bang in between ur eyes right at the mid point between ur brows in line with the bridge of ur nose. Look at it, till U can tolerate. Repeat five times.

2) Keep blinking your eyes fiercely for no reason upto a count of 20. Stop, close ur eyes, count to 10, and repeat the 20 times blink once more. (u can do this anytime, just make sure U don't have any mascara on or they will be a mess😃)

3) Keep ur head straight, focus on a far far away spot and stare at it without blinking. Till ur eyes smart.

4) keep ur head straight, look at ur right without moving ur head. Then look at ur left. Repeat for five times.

5) Roll ur eyes, clockwise and anti clockwise for 10 times each.

Don't forget to just close ur eyes and relax to the count to ten after U r done.

These exercises really help not only in improving the vision but also in removing dark circles and puffy eyes.

Many many happy returns of the day 👏 Have a wonderful bday with your family

Congratulations on becoming MOW 😊

Thank you dear for all your wishes......🤗

Now the questions:

What is the background behind selecting your screen name Minnie?

It is my name and I never thought of using any other username, (as I never even imagined I would become so deeply involved with IF when I joined ) and I did not want to forget my user ID whenever I visited IF.

How do you react to people who try to boss over you all the time?

I boss back...😃 , there is a huge clash of positive and negative current which causes a short curcuit and everything is vented out !!!

Now beauty question 😃
I have this small little boils just on left handcorner of my forehead which kind of dries and comes back in 2 days...and again dries and comes back 😡
What is the best home remedy for this 😳

Hmnn.....that is a weird little problem. As it is concentrated to a specific area, it means that area is getting allergic to something. Do you have dandruff? Could be that the particular area of your scalp has a lot of dandruff and it continuously sheds the dead skin causing the ruptures and boils. Dandruff can be concentrated in a certain area of our scalp. If this is so, first get rid of the dandruff by using a good anti dandruff shampoo . Apply a lot of curd in that area of ur scalp frequently and wash.Vinegar also helps in controlling dandruff.

However if U don't have dandruff, then could be that you have large active sebum glands concentrated in that area which become over active for some reason. Keep wiping the area with rose water and apply a paste of sandalwood powder, some ground coriander and mint leaves, few cloves, a pinch of nutmeg. U can refrigerate this paste. Put this paste on the affected area as and when required.

See if this helps.

Minnie, thanks so much for taking the time out to write such a detailed reply.. A lot of it is highly educative for me - I knew about the cucumber stuff but that is where my knowledge stopped 😃 I must add this page to my favourite so I can look at it and try to follow it religiously.. In my case it is definietly stress + pc which does it!

So, what is your observation in terms of cultural differences between the East and West Coast?

On the surface, the similarities of the lifestyle look the same all across US, the same kinds of shops, malls, buildings, way of dressing.....(except for San Fransisco which I feel is a very different and one of the most beautiful cities I have seen in my life)

However, there is a distinct difference in the ways of life between the east and the west.

In Northern east coast, people are much more conservative, reserve and formal. They are more English in their behaviour and attitude. The kids are more close knit with their families than their western counterparts. The families are more close knit than in the west coast. To my surprise, I have actually come across men who take care of their parents in their old age in the east coast. I had a neighbour in LA who was Connecticut and she had her husband's 90 year old grandmother staying with them and she took great care of the old lady and her 3 kids adored their great grand. But those who were born and brought up in the west coast are often not as fortunate in getting a close knit family structure.

Also, west coast women dress in much more bold fashion than the ones in the east, probably due to the weather. In the east coast, most of them, especially those who are in the subarbs dress conservatively. Folks in the western coast also dress more colourfully while in the east, they are much more toned down.

However, I found the people in west coast more open minded and friendly. LA of course is a melting pot of many cultures. The east coast folks are much more reserve and extremely formal. So their 'Oh how good to see you' doesn't really mean anything. In west, they say something like this only when they want to and mean it.

I loved the west coast because it's more open and it's fun to live there, a lot more things to do. But I like to live in the east coast because it's more family oriented.

I would like to add that these are just my opinion and I could be wrong as I haven't had that much time to really go deep and find out more.

Hiya Minnie

This is just wonderful!!! I have not yet read all the questions and your answers, will be doing it soon.... This weekend does not allow me to read or post😡But I am still here, stealing time from my hubby's pocket😆😆😆, just for you!!!😳😳

What would you have done if you had a daughter like Astha? How differently would you have handled her?

Do you ever regret not to have a daughter?

Tell us a very interesting incident about Neil and Aryan? (Choose the one I do not know😉)

I am a person who never ever cares about Beauty, never ever bother to even look up in the mirror. So, if i start doing something for myself, according to you, what can I do? I will want the easiest way out so that I can atleast start cultivating it...

If you were given a boon to go and meet 5 friends in IF, who would you meet? (Frank answer Minnie, I have not posted this question for myself, though😆)

Select 3 of your IF -mates. Describe the 3, how you feel about them. Also, you need to mention atleast 3 negatives of that person, ofcourse, as many positives you want, you can list out!!!😳

Who according to you is the Best Actor in Astitva? Why?

Which is your favourite Hindi Movie?

What do you think about the plight of married woman in IF, with their husbands always angry at seeing their wives in IF? What do you think is the best solution to this? (Other than the wife leaving IF, ofcourse)

I will be back with more questions. My hubby is already giving me a stare now, so i need to end this post here!!!😡😡😡

Hi Minnie, Happy Anniversary to both of you!!

Yes, your observations about the East Coast is accurate. About the dress code though - you may have to wait for Summer when it is really hot to see the boldness in their clothes here though 😉 But yes, I too have heard that the West Coast people are not as conservative though outwardly most places/cities in US are structured similarly and look similar. Have you visited New York City - Manhattan? I found that very different from most of the other cities in the US.
