Haha, destiny is definitely pulling the strings! 🎭 Riya turning into Arjun 2.0, and Arjun being his usual indescribable self—sounds like a recipe for chaos! 😆🔥 Also, you're welcome for the PM! 😉

Truth always has a dramatic sense of timing, doesn’t it? 😏 And Arjun better decide soon—Riya isn’t a ceiling fan to keep hanging! 😂 Let’s see if it’s aar ya paar or just aargh! 🤭 Stay tuned!

New lead! Glad Riya noticed the note. I’m loving the slow burn in this 😊
Riya’s detective instincts are on point! 🔍 And as for the slow burn… well, good things (and fiery romances) take time. 😉🔥
Part 9
The ETF office was unusually silent, except for the hum of computers and the occasional rustling of files. The team had returned from the abandoned factory with more questions than answers, and now, they were focused on the one lead that might break the case wide open—Hotel Empire, Room 306.
Arjun sat at his desk, his fingers lightly tapping against the surface. His mind was a battlefield of thoughts—about the case, about Riya, about everything that he had lost… and everything that he might still be losing.
Riya, seated across from him, was going through the forensic reports. She could feel his gaze flicker toward her once or twice, but as always, he said nothing.
"Riya?" Sameer’s voice broke the silence.
She looked up. "Haan, Sir?"
"Hotel ke CCTV footage ka kya hua?"
Shree, who had been working on it for the past half-hour, turned his chair around. "Sir, footage mil gaya hai, lekin problem yeh hai ki uss din ka kuch part deliberately delete kiya gaya hai."
Riya’s brows furrowed. "Matlab kisi ne jaankar evidence mita diya?"
Shree nodded. "Exactly. Lekin maine ek chhoti si trick use ki… jo deleted footage tha, uska backup ek hidden folder mein tha."
Arjun leaned forward, his interest piqued. "Aur kya mila?"
Shree played the footage. The grainy black-and-white recording showed Rajeev Malhotra entering Room 306. He looked tense, frequently glancing over his shoulder.
A few minutes later, another man entered the room. The footage was blurry, but his body language suggested familiarity with Rajeev.
"Karan Singh," Sameer muttered.
They watched as the two men engaged in a heated argument. Rajeev slammed his hands on the table, clearly agitated. The other man, Karan, pointed a threatening finger at him before leaving.
Then, Rajeev pulled out his phone, dialed a number, and began talking. His lips moved fast—whatever he was saying, he was desperate.
"Shree, kya audio extract kar sakte ho?" Arjun asked.
"Main try kar raha hoon, Sir."
A few seconds later, a distorted voice played through the speakers.
"Mujhe milna hoga… haan, kal subah… koi aur option nahi hai… yeh log mujhe maar dalenge… bas ek baar aur madad kar do… mujhe bacha lo—"
And then, the audio cut off.
A chill ran down Riya’s spine. "Yeh kis se baat kar raha tha?"
Arjun’s gaze darkened. "Wahi insaan jo shayad iske murder ka raaz jaanta hai."
Sameer exhaled. "Humein Rajeev ke call records phir se check karne honge. Yeh last call kis number pe gaya tha?"
Shree quickly pulled up the logs. "Sir, yeh number kisi bhi naam se registered nahi hai… lekin location trace ho sakti hai."
A few keystrokes later, the screen flashed.
Location: Andheri West, Mumbai
"Wahan kaunsa area aa raha hai?" Riya asked.
"Laxmi Apartment… flat number 502."
Sameer didn’t waste a second. "Team, chalo. Agar yeh insaan zinda hai, toh hum usse dhund nikalenge."
***
The team reached Laxmi Apartment in under an hour. The building was old, its paint chipping away, and the dimly lit hallways smelled of dampness and dust.
They climbed to the fifth floor and stopped in front of Flat 502.
Arjun signaled Riya and Chotu to take positions while Sameer knocked on the door.
No response.
He knocked again. "Mumbai police! Darwaza kholo!"
Silence.
Arjun exchanged a look with Sameer before stepping back and kicking the door open.
The room inside was dark and messy—clothes scattered, half-eaten food on the table, and papers lying all over the floor. But there was no sign of anyone inside.
"Koi hai?" Riya called out cautiously.
Still, nothing.
But then, Shree pointed toward the kitchen. "Sir… wahan se awaz aa rahi hai."
Arjun immediately moved ahead, gun raised. As he turned the corner, he saw a figure sitting on the kitchen floor, breathing heavily.
A man in his mid-40s, sweat dripping down his face, a wound on his shoulder. He looked up at Arjun, eyes filled with fear.
"Tum log kaun ho?" he rasped.
"ETF," Arjun answered coldly. "Aur tum Rajeev Malhotra ka sach jante ho."
The man’s expression shifted—guilt, fear, and resignation all at once.
"Mujhe maar dalenge…" he whispered. "Jaise Rajeev ko mara tha."
Riya stepped forward. "Kisne maara Rajeev ko?"
The man swallowed hard. "Jisne mujhe chhupne pe majboor kiya… jisne mujhe dhamkaya… jisne mujhe bhi maarne ki koshish ki."
Arjun’s patience was running thin. "Naam batao."
The man hesitated before finally whispering—
"Rakesh Khurana."
Silence filled the room.
Sameer’s eyes widened slightly. "Yeh toh Rajeev ka business partner hai."
The man nodded, his breath shaky. "Rakesh ke illegal dealings ka pata chal gaya tha Rajeev ko… usne police ke paas jaane ka decision liya. Par usse pehle hi Rakesh ne uska kaam tamaam kar diya."
Arjun clenched his fists. He had suspected a business-related motive, but hearing it confirmed sent a fresh wave of anger through him.
"Tum gawaahi doge?" Riya asked.
The man shook his head furiously. "Agar maine ek shabd bhi bola, toh mera bhi wahi haal hoga jo Rajeev ka hua."
Arjun stared at him for a long moment.
Then he stepped forward, lowering his voice. "Sun, sach bolne ka darr sabko hota hai… par tu jo kar raha hai na, woh sirf darr nahi… woh apni hi maut likhne jaisa hai. Agar Rakesh tujhe maarna chahta hai, toh kya guarantee hai ki tu chup bhi rahega, toh tu zinda rahega?"
The man’s face paled.
Arjun’s voice was firm. "Sach batakar tu sirf Rajeev ke parivaar ke liye nahi, apne liye bhi nyay maang raha hoga. Tere paas sirf do choices hain—ya toh tu chup rahega aur ek din bina kisi wajah ke mar jayega… ya phir tu apne liye ladaai ladega."
Riya placed a gentle hand on the man’s arm. "Agar tum sach bataoge, toh hum tumhari security ensure karenge."
The man hesitated… then slowly nodded.
"Main gawaahi doonga."
And with that, the case finally had its breakthrough.
But even as the pieces of the puzzle fell into place, Arjun and Riya knew—
There were still some wounds that no investigation could solve.
Obvio rajeev will not come back case wise
