CHAPTER 9

"Arjun, ARJUN!" Sakshi called him for the umpteenth time.

" Ha Sam... Sakshi?" Arjun asked

Sensing that he might have slipped in some zen mode, and even her Sam bhai for that matter of fact she quickly put up...

"Kya Arjun... tumhe itni asaani se kaise pata chala?" which brought everyone back to their senses.

"Kyunki Sakshi... ek insaan ke pasand samajne ke liye uss insaan ko observe karna chahiye, jawaab saamne hota hai... ab yet baat tum samjhe ya samjhaaun?" He said

Suddenly a peon came in and called Sameer... after half an hour when he came back he was visibly stressed... how, why, suddenly and a thousand damn its were running through his head...

"Everyone, disperse home, kal milte hain" Sameer abruptly said and left for home, Ayesha following him.

Twenty minutes before

"Sir but achaanak se... kyun, damn it?" Sameer asked the DIG fifth time. "Aur itne uchche position pe... I know it's not a simple transfer... it's a replacement aur woh tab hi ho sakta hai jab koi marr jaye ya phir.. In short sir, after that incident where we lost our most esteemed officer... transfer has never been an easy thing for me..."

"I know Sameer... even we regret his loss...I shouldn't have sent him to narcotics department... I shouldn't have kept him alone... par Sameer... tum akele nahi jaa rahe ho... you are going with Shreekant as well... aur main tum dono pe bharosa karta hoon... Delhi mai jaana zaroori hai...and u are not taking up the narcotics ring... don't... iss baar bhi the chief died due to narcotics case..."

"Was he also behind..." suddenly a msg beeped on Rathore's phone... his jaws stiffened, he softly mumbled "Damn it!" in his mind.

"Behind kya Sameer?" DIG asked

"Kuch nahi sir, mai jaa raha hoon... I accept your offer sir... no sir I am not going behind narcotics... main Samraat ki ghalti nahi dohraunga... nahi the recent ETFian chief ki sir, Jai Hind." Sameer saluted and left

"Jai Hind!" DIG said and left.

"Usse check karo... phone records..sab kuch" a man ordered

"Kuch nahi sir.. all clear" the other one said

"Good." the man said

Three weeks before, on a cliff

"Dude...kya jagah hai yaar...ek tip le..get ur date here...pakka is duniya mai koi date nahi hoga who would not be impressed by you! Impress main PhD kar li hai!" Kapoor said animatedly jumping at the place around

"Oye, do saal ke bachcho ke tarah stop jumping...waise jisse I have to impress...it's a bit tight! For that person I have to think harder, more on the emotional type...lagta hai ki iss baar it is...!" Verma laughed

"Yaar...you have to think! Matlab ke if I were in your place I would have given up hope! Waise who is this person...even I'm interested! Agar I meet that special one... straight shaashtang pranam! Cause that one has sent you... like YOU to thinking mode! Shaadi ke baad I pity your situation, waise I am sure it is the great love, Verma is finally in love!" Kapoor earned a slap on his back.

"Offo... as if you can do great miracles... I'm noticing the way u behave when I mention your special one! Waise... will you ever say something ki sirf staring and stalking competition main no.1 hona hai? And... well I called you here for some important stuff... not exactly chit chatting..." Verma said

"I know that... but bohot din baad finally I got to speak with my friend...coming back to point...what is it Verma?"

Verma silently passed a file and took out a juice bottle.

"What the hell! What the ..." Kapoor said adding in a few bit of beautiful profanities.

"Kappy control yaar." Verma mumbled.

"Yeh kaise accept hua? I don't know how it got accepted! Verma, Rathore ka transfer accept kaise ho gaya?" Kappy asked for the tenth time as Verma silently sipped juice.

"Because your ETFian is dead Kappy.." Verma said

"WHAT? Dude you were just joking that day and I sent orders ki woh waapas..."Kapoor exclaimed.

"Just accept it... uska mauth ho chuka hai... aur shaayad humaari jaan ab bhi khatre main hai...keep a tab on ETF cause..." Verma said

"Even I have a hunch" Kapoor completed

"Verma... ek aur doubt hai... we are still not informed about tht ETFian's death... and neither does ETF Delhi know... how did the transfer get passed? Usually pehle death, fir inquiry, investigation then recruitment of a naya member... yeh itni jaldi pass... yeh sirf tab ho sakta hai agar..." Kapoor said

"koi andar se mila hua hai... someone's there Kappy..."Verma completed

"Toh hum Rathore ko wahan kyun bhej rahe hain?" Kapoor asked

"Uska jawaab baad main."

"Anyways I guess it's enough for today... waise tu aaj kal" Verma started off

"Not again Verma! I said na that I am with no one... tujhe ho kya gaya hai?" Kapoor glared

"Yaar, I didn't even say about pyaar ...I was saying ki tu aaj kal tired looking types!" Verma smirked

"Tu bhi na! Now let me go, I have to handle mission B...waise Verma...abhi abhi you spoke of someone's death and back to jokes...kaise?" Kapoor muttered

"Kyunki I have forgotten everything in life... all I do is just focus on the mission...jo jaa chuka hai, hum unhe waapas nahi kaa sakte... aur... Kapoor I have to go for Mission A.. see ya" Verma said and jumped off the cliff where there was a river below gushing with full speed.

"I know where you are going Verma... take a break dude..kabhi toh izhaar kiya karo... warna jab sab kuch khatam ho jayega you'll break beyond repair..." Kapoor sighed

"Waise tu aur teri jumping stunts ka kya rishta hai!"Kapoor laughed aloud only to find a message on the new phone a second later from Verma.

"Wohi rishta between you and your BST buses ;) "

Present at lounge room, next day

Ayesha felt uneasy as well "Aisa kya hua hoga unhe? Poochu... nahi...haan...forget it!"

Arjun thought "Rathore toh thande dimaag waala hai... uska dimaag garam... kuch toh chut raha hai.." He turned his face towards Sakshi to see her face and understood that she was thinking on same lines as well.

Finally Sameer came in and broke it out "Team, ek meeting hai, dus minute baad, conference hall... Ayesha, tum abhi aao." and he rushed towards the hall leaving a baffled team behind.

"Kahi aaj hi propose na karde? Lagta hai inki mummy ne dhamki diya shaadi karne ke liye." Chotu remarked and Shree laughed.

"Chotu, chup re... yeh koi mazaak karne ka waqt nahi hai... Sam bhai ko itna tensed kabhi nahi dekha... hai voh ek fattu - that's a universal fact, but baat kuch aur hai... let's just hope for the best!" Sakshi remarked.

Choree walked away to the cafe area.

Arjun looked at her amazed... "kaun hai yeh? Na samaj banti hai jab woh saari duniya ke logo ko samaj paati hai, khud har waqt mazaak karti hai aur aaj logon ko chup kara rahi hai... hamesha hasti hai par apne aasoon apne aap main chupate hai... kaun hai yeh...jo main sochta hoon hamesha usse kuch na kuch ulta karti hai... maine kabhi koi kasar nahi choda isse sataane ko, phir bhi yeh mujhse..."

Sakshi turned to find Arjun staring straight into her eyes "Arjun, mujhe samajhne ke koshish mat karo... main bohot mushkil se apne jazbaaton pe kaaboon rakh rahi hoon... mujhe aise mat dekho..."she thought and immediately averted her eyes.

But Arjun chinned her up and said " Mujhse nazrein mat churao Sakshi"

"kahi pyaar ke nasha main kuch aisi na kar baithu Arjun tum kyun nahi samajhte... tumhari taane le sakte hoon par tum chup chaap mujhe yun dekhna - ye main nahi le sakti... jab tumhe sab pata chal jaye gaa... aur ab toh maine kuch kiya bhi nahi... kyun mujhe aise dekh rahe ho"

she thought turned her face not realizing that she said the last line loud and found her face cupped in his large hands...

Arjun just looked at her large doe shaped eyes, ignoring the love being poured out of it, there was something in her eyes which he wanted to find... "Kyunki agar tumhe meri aankhon main dard nazar aata hain to mujhe tumhaari aankhon main tanhaayi nazar aati hai..."

Sakshi's heart was threatening to burst out of her rib cage any moment under his intense gaze... his face merely few centimeters afar... his musky scent making her head go dizzy, his hands half caressing half cupping her face, he was close to her... very close... she was seeing stars before her... she could feel the heat his body radiated... her cheeks heating up... she could fall weak any moment...

All this just due to a simple eye-lock...

"Sakshi, kyun aayi ho tum ETF main?" He softly asked, in such gentle tone that tears found their way off her eyes to his warm palm.

"Mujhpe bharosa karti ho na?" He asked, she nodded, then slowly rubbing of her tears with his thumb " toh batao mujhe kyun aayi ho yaha? uss din ro kyun rahi thi? kyun main tumhaari zindagi ka rukh nahi badal sakta... and why do you believe me?" he said in one breath and softly caressed her cheek.

He couldn't control his emotions... the love and devotion...his silent refusal increased his deep care for her...

He looked at her quivering lips and couldn't hold himself back anymore, he just lowered his face, Sakshi clutched her eyes shut, then he covered her lips with his, strong unnamed feelings shot up through their spines... his lips roughly went over hers as if demanding his answers...
