Chapter-24:

Phony Boards and Unrelated Thoughts:

The jig-jaw puzzle came to an end at last.

Dhanya was the girl we had to find out.

After ransacking her room, it was conformed that as her friends claimed Dhanya had no affair and it was a kidnap!

And now Chottu and I were going to check some address on the second Mujabi Street.

The manager of the Serine club' gave us the address of the evil man's friend, at last. He informed that friend was the only member there and the group was his guests every evening including the evil man' and that was before the fight.

Then the evil man went to the club almost regularly till the talk that everybody entering the club should get a pass and to renew the membership every three months arose.

We checked the address and found it too was phony.

"What's this? What are we doing here? Everywhere we see a Phony Board', hanging on nearly everything we touch!"

"I think when we find this Arjun sir's beard man we'd find that his beard is too a phony one!"

Chottu commented to ease the tension and that made me smile.

At last we found the man from my lap-top and as we expected he was listed in our records.

But still nothing we got in this kidnapping case...

He was still in his bed and had no idea to get out of the bed that day.

He opened his eyes slowly as the sun through a window glass started pricking his eyes successfully.

But still he was not stirring, he did not have to. He had no rush today.

He did everything he had to, except some minor issues, the girl in the basement for one.

He was planning this for the past three months without even thinking anything even drinks!

He wondered sometimes at her.

She was calm ever since she woke up at the basement after the kidnapping. Even when he removed the tape from her lips to change it she was silently watching him.

He had to change it- what if the tape peeled off itself as a result of soaking and what if she cried and tried to escape in his absence?

The fear had gone in her eyes, once she knew that there was no way for her escape. Even if she tried, he thought, itd be suicidal, he knew.

In that darkness around, she would not move a few feet without endangering herself.

Today he was home for the whole day, if tried anything he would see to it that she got the punishment for that right away.

She was now alone in the basement. She was losing hope that her uncle would come soon to save her.

Loads of unrelated thoughts started swarming her mind as time passed.

She thought, if only she was a heroine and had been kidnapped like this the hero would come in a horse and whisk her away in a flash. When more than one was kidnapped then the villain would kill the other and wait for the hero to come and save the heroine...

When he woke up and came to visit her at last, he had come with the tape readily.

She tried to get a glimpse of the time from his watch as he changed the tape.

Once he went away she tried to derive the time from what she saw in a glance.

She saw the watch as he took the tape in both hands so it was reverse to her.

She saw a hand of the watch near 6' and one near'7' and she did not think she could have seen the second hand in that light.

Thus the time had to be mm... 12:05 or 01:00 and most probably an afternoon.
