but aunty...being a third year filmmaking student myself..i m pretty aware of the procedure of making to telecast of a particular episode on TV...

before the telecast...th channel nd the editing team checks the content nd execution of the plot of an episode...

not sure abt the regulation of daily soaps...but for bi-weekly series like Arjun...surely they follow this...

its jst like any censor board for the TV...

No, Nisha, I do not want Arjun pulled off, either, unless they go on in this fashion and get even worse. I have loved it from Day1, and that is why I could not stand this episode.

My dear, whether the crime was ugly or the episode- it is quibbling and dodging the question. All crime is ugly. Some crimes are uglier than others. So saying that it was only the crime that was ugly does not mean anything extra.

What I meant was that the way the crimes - the murders, the near soft po*no build up to the rape, showing the girl that way on the bed, the murderer in the bathtub afterwards - were shown was very ugly. It literally made my skin crawl, and I am sure you felt the same. It was grossly exploitative and titillating, and I cannot believe that Mr. Gorky passed this treatment of those scenes.

I do not buy the 'it happens, and children are not children any more' arguments. In the US, they would not have allowed such scenes in this time slot.

As for 'they do not require a tv show to commit a crime.the surroundings and the environments are the main reason for their behaviour', what would you bet would be the number of copycat rapes and murders that will committed in the same template, bathtub and all? One reads repeatedly of such copycats, for kidnappings, thefts, murders, the whole lot.

There are also daily incidents of small children being raped and murdered. Do you want to see that too on Arjun? And child sexual abuse, including within the family? That also happens. This is not Satyameva Jayate, you know, that handles such issues with sensitivity.

I saw some comments here, including yours, expressing happiness that the modus operandi of the rape was not shown. Well, if no one protests, the next time it will be. And of course rape happens all the time too, so what is the harm is providing a little instruction manual? They did their best in this direction yesterday, and with a little encouragement, I am sure they will do even better.

If I sound livid and OTT, it is because that is the way I feel, and no, I am not at all sorry about it.

okay i believe i am one of the Aliens of Arjun forum 😆
anyways... jokes apart...

Hi Shyamala Aunty 😊

firstly hats off to you for raising this question.
i was irked beyond limit while seeing the episode.
it was pathetic.
i totally agree with you.
the only fact that i want to point out is
r u sure that the episode was ugly ???? because in my opinion it was the crime that was ugly.
if u dont want to see reality based incidents then u must stop watching the show like this.
because it is a crime show !!!
they never showed how to kill and how to rape.(except the attack on shree part)
otherwise the weapons ties and all that are used are pretty much common for a crime show.
i agree with Shreya to some extend.
kids are no more kids nowadays.
they act mature enough in the age of 13/14.
they do not require a tv show to commit a crime.the surroundings and the environments are the main reason for their behavior i guess.
about the show being pulled off... i will never support that.
Tina,Shreya & Kunchu ... well i understand their fear because u cant really trust Star Plus & the PH. Reason is known to all.

hope u all will forgive me for poking my nose here.
sorry... couldn't help it 😆

This said, I cannot hide my disappointment at the fact that no one in this forum, as far as I could see, has thought fit to voice her feelings against the ugliness of that episode, especially the build up to the rape and murder of that young girl. That, and showing her like that on the bed, with the killer luxuriating in the bath tub. Did it not make your skin crawl? The only topic of discussion I saw was about whether Arjun was right in shooting that monster out of hand. I could not believe it.

and thn it is upon the viewers of abt how they take the content ...nd form their views...if they dnt like it...thn are free to raise voice to BCCC...

but a show like Arjun...which is all in nd out related to crime...in our daily outs...

its all obvious i guess to expect violence...

even the other shows on TV with the CRIME topics showcase same scenes...

bt i wont deny the fact dat in sunday's episode...it ws shown a bit over the board...

but i even agree dat people these days not at all need a trigger or a mere scene shown in an episode...to commit such heinous crimes...

atleast not after checking the survey of 'raised no. of rapes in India'...

about the complain to BCCC thing...

sorry aunty but if ony a scene or two in a Crime series deserve a complain in BCCC...thn in mere 2-3 months all the crime based shows should be pulled off air...

pls dnt get any hard feelings for me...

as i had stated only my POV...

and i would like to clarify...dat each and every word i wrote...was being written by a girl living in today's so called civilized people's society...who've turned into living monsters these days...

and not a Arjun fan...

'the show will go off air'...'wat will happen to Arjun'...these thoughts were nowhere in my mind while writing this one...

all i told what i felt...

That is just it, Aisha. It was gratuitous and totally unnecessary.

And it was not only what happened to her, but the earlier part of the murderer fondling her photo and smelling her clothes, the body on the bed, the murderer in the bathtub.Ugh...

I do not know what you might have heard about me, my dear, for it has been months since I wrote anything here, but now I know you and like what I have got to know.

Not to worry, Aisha, Tina talked me out of that and I have complained only to Forum 32 (see my posts to Tina and Nisha above). But we must NOT let Arjun go down this road.

@blue
, they might do these things on their own, but the copycat effect is a well documented one. So I do not buy that argument.

Nahin Aisha you are not wrong, @underline, Gorky himself said that SP do check what it is being telecasted or not, in fact they have their say in each and every episode...
