I will have to thank you for providing this perspective which did not just lead me to go back to the episode and complete it but has also prepared me for the future shocks. I have realised that it is easy to like a show when everything is happening according to ur liking, the true test is in sticking to it when things are not. And this show does not just have a cloud with a silver lining, it has a glowing sun in the form of Arjun! And that can dispel every darkness 😊
Its just that I do not see Arjun just as a show, I treat it like a work of art. And just like a blot on a painting or an ill fitting line in a poetry distracts you, I get a bit more affected than what I should! And its hard for me to put someone above analysis without any convincing reason 😉 But I really admire her fans and find them to be quite forgiving towards the writers. If I was her fan I would have been outraged at the prospect of using the leading lady as a comic relief! But each to its own and yes peace shall reign 😊

Its exactly how I perceive Arjun yet I could have never put it so aptly.Yes, he is the beacon that dispels all gloom & darkness not only per se the show but also in my personal domain.Apart from him being extremely pleasing to the eyes I derive a lot of hope & strength from him too.Like all is not lost.Like there is light at the end of the tunnel. Why this so I cannot say. I know I am never going to find a man like him but I am going to raise my child to be someone like him.

So imagine the utter disappointment & heartbreak when someone like this was introduced as one who would teach him to live & love again. My family takes special care not to disturb me as I watch the show no matter what. And now there was some one inside the show itself who was not letting me watch Arjun in peace.I raved & ranted, cried & begged for them to bring about some sort of change in her presentation. It was only after she was caught faking her injury it was toned down considerably.I heaved a sigh of relief & turned around to find most of my friends turned into bitter enemies.War of words, random hurtful comments followed every time I logged on.It was very distressing. Then I decided to limit any criticism on their own web page but the fight continued there too.So yes those who love the actor & the character love her from the bottom of their hearts & she is above real people for them.I was hurting them with my comments & they let me know😊 I was tired & didnt want to fight anymore so took to this path of complete silence. And peace has reigned.

Here's some of the so called bashing I have done in my time:😆

Murder in the swimming pool:

Before I leave a little word to the creatives. There is only so much you can do for any actor and character of the show.Write an author backed role, give some cutting dialogues & provide a good working environment for them to give their best.Anything more than that is handing them crutches & propping them up. Itdoes nothing but portray the character as handicapped & the actor as mediocre. Its really upto to the actor to perform & win the hearts of people.Swinging the camera in her direction every third second, lingering there for more seconds than required, making sure she appears equally in every frame with the star lead & giving her the most attention seeking corny dialogues.Your hands as you walk her thru her role is so visible.Makes for very cringy viewing & absolutely unfair on the stellar cast esp the one who is carrying this whole enterprise on his young 26 year old shoulders. I have said I understand the compulsions for the new shades the story has taken. But does that mean you take away the essence of the man you have had us fall in love with? Is it fair to the actor that his precious time & screen presence should be marred by what is a weak character & a really novice actor? What about the other stars that actually bring so much to the show? For a few minutes forget you r the creators of the show & watch the sunday episode as a thinking audience. I am certain you will get my point.Sorry for any offence caused.

Wow Zuby I liked that thought of urs that instead of being an experienced ex crime journalist if she would have been a intern it would have been more perfect. Than her character would have been easily fit in the show. The way she got shocked watching etf using guns and she can't watch dead bodies. This would look normal if she were a intern. I wish they have made her an intern.

True every word you say. That introduction was all wrong. They should have never said who she was the way they said. One hand picked by the ministry & entrusted the mammoth task of taking ETF to the common man. That she was a veteran journalist who had been there & seen it all.It should have simply been an intern who wants to see the inside of ETF be awed & mesmerised at the slightest of things. It wouldn't have been jarring so much then.

But she & her antics seem to make a lot of people happy. And who am I to come between their happiness? Besides , as I had begged them creatives in the early days, the scenes are such that they can be easily ignored by those not interested. The best thing is Arjun's reaction to it all.It makes it all very bearable & peace is maintained at this second home of mine too.😊

@carrie- Looks like you have been through a lot and I have missed a lot of action. Not that u would have needed it but I wish I was there to defend. And I really appreciate the manner in which u tackled this. When a discussion turns from what is right to who is right, its best to disengage. But I can sympathize with those who got offended too...its not easy to bear criticism. Tomorrow if Arjun was portrayed as ridiculously as her and ppl talked negative about him, then I might feel the same. But I would never discourage a healthy discussion about it..I would still be open to views. Because in a nation where even Sachin Tendulkar is not exempted from harsh scrutiny its foolish to believe anyone is above criticism!
And there is no rationale to preach this. I fail to understand how can talking about a character's performance be a personal attack?.I mean acting is ur profession..then nothing can be more professional than discussing it! I think people here are very kind to add the note that it is the character and not the actor in question. I find it strange that when it comes to praise we can say Shaleen has performed well, Shital has portrayed Ayesha beautifully etc. But when it comes to this particular character suddenly the rules change. The character is orphaned and treated as if it can exist alone without an actor. Thats like saying the poetry is not good but all the lines are perfect!

But I think I shall be adopting silence too. Because enough has been said and like I said its her fans who should be actually offended. Every character is self existent but she has no identity of her own. Take Arjun out of her equation and she ceases to exist. But if they are happy with the proceedings..then its good for everyone.!
