I agree fully with your comments on the negative conditioning given to women in a patriarchal society, especially in India. The strange thing is that the same men fervently worship the Devi as the embodiment of the Godhead, something that is exclusive to Hinduism!
I think the negative reaction to Ayesha in parts of the forum is a mirror reflection of the automatic acceptance of and the admiration for the same attitudes, in fact far worse, in Arjun.
It amazes me when there is talk of his never having run Shree down in public; this is either a case of selective memory or of revisionist history!😉Why, Arjun was often bitingly sarcastic and very harsh in his put downs of Shree in front of the whole team - just one example of which was in the case of the dead stockbroker, when he bites Shree's head off for saying that the channel the dead man had been watching on TV was the business channel. That is why Shree always bitterly called him khaddoos.
In the same scene, he also deliberately provokes Rathod with his sarcasm and his irritating Samjhe ya samjhaaon? Rathod seemed on the point of catching his collar then, but was diverted when Shree came up with his findings. No normal boss would have tolerated this kind of behaviour from his No.2, no matter how clever he was, but Rathod is not just endlessly patient but also stands up for Arjun before the disciplinary committee.
Arjun is obviously a superlative officer, but a pattern card of behaviour he is not. He reminds me, as I have noted in past posts of mine, of Sherlock Holmes, with the same arrogance of intelligence, the same contemptuous impatience with lesser minds, the same abruptness and lack of social skills. He also has the same loner mentality, the same sharp eye for the telling detail, the same sudden brilliance in seeing connections and patterns that others cannot see, and the same insistence (shared by Agatha Christie's otherwise less well drawn Hercule Poirot) that the final theory must explain EVERY single fact without exception. But then Holmes was never part of any team, nor was he a policeman. Arjun is both, and so some fine tuning seems called for to smoothen out his rough edges.
Holmes is also conveniently a misogynist, as I suspect Arjun is as well, Roshni always excepted. But even Holmes developed a healthy respect for "The Woman', the only one who bested him at his own game - Irene Adler (from A Scandal in Bohemia). Ayesha has the potential to do an Irene Adler on Arjun one of these days, provided the CVs do not start dumbing her down, and I hope that will be the start of mutual respect between them. In fact a bit of that was already in evidence when she immediately cottons on to his coded message and drops to the floor, allowing him to shoot that DSP (Narcotics) Praveen Kamat.
In any case, in a crunch situation, Arjun would be far better off with an Ayesha at his side than anyone else.
Lastly, I do not understand why are you so worried about hurting anyone. Why should anyone be hurt by an honest exchange of views? It is a free forum, after all, and we are all very polite and well mannered, and there is nothing for anyone to object to. Then again if we were to all agree with one another, honestly or because of self censorship, that would be very dull, would it not? It would then become a cheerleaders group, and not a lively forum!😉

look it's kind of really strange thing...i mean it is the truth, and obviously it's pathetic. At some point mostly mainstream societies had always been patriarchal, and women are oppressed mainly by thoughts more than force. Women had always been isolated from any kind of power or control through thoughts and that too by women. I mean in indian subcontinent, it'll be a women who'll normally teach her daughter these patriarchal ethics.
Women who wants to access power are always seen as abnormal. obviously it's stupid but it's truth and until women won't start to change their views, nothing can happen to the poor condition of women.
And I totally agree that what ayesha was doing was the most dangerous thing anyone would had ever done... for eight months she was living like this... i mean undercover...i can't even describe nor they can openly show how much torture she could have to bear...literally i've read few books on this and i've bben in shock for weeks that how much pain, torture techniques are there in the world.
Btw the sole reason(sorry don't wanna hurt anyone) she looks strange or weird is bcz she as a woman confronted our hero so well...she wasn't a woman whom arjun can control in a nanosecond.
i'm sorry if i hurt anyone but can't help it... at least i'm a girl and i know very well that i'm no less than any guy...
